ALSO, AS PROMPTS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Last month's mini-events!
Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.
Swarm: Sunday, July 31: Illumise and Volbeat

i'm... i'm okay... sorry i'm still getting used to human things so i don't really know how everything works yet...
[Truthfully they've walked for a while, so being hungry and tired is a thing. But they don't want to inconvenience Mettaton by talking about their problems.]
it's a pumpkin cat i think? don't know why but i guess they're hanging out with me for some reason...
[The Pumpkaboo stirs and decides to nestle itself in Napstablook's hair. It does the little cat thing where it closes its eyes contentedly.]
no subject
[Don't think for one moment that he's letting those cuts and bruises go unnoticed. Backing up slightly, Mettaton reaches into his messenger back and withdraws a small box with a red cross stamped on it. He'd learned the important of first aid pretty quickly out here!]
Come on, Blooky dear! Let me take care of you. We can catch up, and any questions you have, I'll answer for you to the best of my ability!
[Something which he appears only too happy to do, if the expression on his face was any indication. It was a mix of both happiness and familiarity.
He didn't have to say to Napstablook that he missed them. It was obvious by how quickly he fell into habits.]
no subject
[After so many times of smacking your brand new nose into things, it starts to really smart. But even with their weak attempts at reassurance, Napstablook already knows Mettaton is going to do what he wants. The little box gets a curious look as they lean a little closer.]
i guess i do have one question? if you don't mind... i'm not really sure how this happened...
[Napstablook pats their new human body.]
no subject
[And what is a bruise, if not a strike from an object? He's onto you, Blooky. And he notices the look that Napstablook gives the kit too, though at the moment Mettaton's distracted pulling out some antiseptic and bandages.
To his credit, he does listen, even as he uncaps the antiseptic spray.]
I don't understand quite how we got here either! But it's easier to assimilate than be too worried, you know? Whatever this is, it can't last forever, right? We will get home, at least, that is what I believe!!
Close your eyes, sweetheart. This may sting just a little.

going home... right, i think i'd like being home more right now...
[As a ghost. With his music, and traveling around with Mettaton and Shyren. But they don't think they'd mind so much if their cousin and Shyren was here. The human thing would be weird to get used to, but the human made it seem pretty easy. What was their name? Frank? Frickle? ... Oh no they knew they should've cried harder so they could remember it.
Napstablook doesn't have time to feel guilty though. At Mettaton's prompting, they close their eyes.]
okay... my eyes are closed now... not gonna open them...
no subject
It's all pretty quick, because he doesn't want to keep Napstablook waiting, of course.]
Alright, there! You can open your eyes now, you're just as good as new!
[As soon as Napstablook opens their eyes, they'll catch the sight of Mettaton moving in close, kissing their forehead briefly. He couldn't resist, okay??]
You know, I really think you ought to stay with me!! It's not home, but better for family to stick together, yes~? Besides, someone has to teach you how to be a proper human, right?
[Says Mettaton, as his stomach growls, interrupting the admittedly one-sided conversation he's having. Oh. Oh, it's been a while since he's eaten, hasn't it?]
Ahahaha...whoops! It appears I have been neglecting my own human needs! How silly of me!!!
no subject
ohh...
[They seem a little embarrassed but not like... a bad kind of embarrassed? Napstablook doesn't know how to describe it.]
if you're okay with it... i wouldn't mind staying and um.... learning human things.... i bet your already really good at it...
[Well, then Mettaton's stomach growls. And as if on cue, Napstablook's stomach does the same. They look down, a little amazed by the noise.]
heh...
no subject
[Seemingly trying to ignore his embarrassing show of hunger, Mettaton busies himself with putting his first aid kit away, rifling through his belongings for just long enough to pull out a candy bar. Unwrapping it halfway, he then holds it out for Napstablook.]
Anyway, here. Try it, it's one of my favorites! Be careful though, it's quite sweet!!
[Sometimes the first taste of anything is overwhelming! Mettaton would know.]
Human lesson number one: Eating!
no subject
[THAT was their name. Napstablook's glad Mettaton said it, because they'd feel really bad for meeting Frisk again and messing up their name.]
they're here too? i'm glad they helped you... they seem like they'd know a lot about being human... since they're human and all...
[Oh man, this is some pressure right here. Not that Napstablook has never seen non-ghost food before, but they've never eaten it. They take the candy bar before giving Mettaton a "are you sure this is okay?" look.
Once Mettaton gives the confirmation, they nibble off a corner piece. Blooky doesn't say anything, but the shocked reaction is almost immediate. It's not at all bad, just very, very suddenly sweet.]
no subject
[He's not sore at all about it. In fact, it's a good test of what he knows. That, and he had imposed upon Frisk quite enough. He needs to figure out how he plans to do things from now on. Without aid.
He laughs softly at Napstablook's face after they take their small bite. It's cute! He fishes out another bar for himself, unwrapping it and taking a less tentative bite than his cousin.]
Is it okay?
no subject
They don't actually speak until they've eaten the piece that's already in their mouth.]
it's good... i didn't expect it to be that sweet...
[They'll take another small bite. This time with less hesitance - it might be a Blooky way of trying to impress their cousin somewhat.
... They still make the same face they did before though.]
no subject
[Mettaton's happy to chatter in between bites, though he's polite enough not to speak with his mouth open or full.]
So anyway! The things to know about food is that you cannot survive on this candy all the time; a balanced diet is key! It's also good to learn your limits, because overeating can make you feel ill!! Oh--and if Papyrus ever offers to make you spaghetti, do be careful!!
He's...a very esoteric chef.
[Which is just Mettaton's way of nicely saying that Papyrus' spaghetti is a leading cause of food poisoning at times. Bless him, but he does need to learn the craft a little more.]
And finally!! The berries we find on bushes are only for Pokémon!! That is very important to remember!
[Trust him, Blooky. Dear god, just trust him on that.]
now with human icons yeah!!
[Napstablook lifts up their arm, pulls back the sleeve a little. A few minutes pass by, but all they can really muster up is some watery eyes. It's not their usual magic ghost tears.
They seem a little confused. Crying is the easiest possible thing for them to do?]
oh... i think something's wrong? normally i'd have something written down by now.
no subject
It's alright, don't worry!! I can give you pen and paper. You see...as humans, there's nothing magical about us.
So...you can't cry it down, but you can write it down! Let me just...mm...where is it?
[Again, Mettaton's in his bag, this time fishing out a blank diary and holding it out for his cousin. In the spiral binding, a pen is clipped securely.]
You can have this!
no subject
[Humans in general seem really difficult. They don't think they're cut out for it - they aren't really excited about the idea of being corporeal anyway. Besides, Napstablook thinks they're terrible at it anyway.
When the diary is held out to them, they hesitate. The watery eyes from their previous crying attempt still remain watery.]
oh... are you sure you want to give me this? i know you like collecting diaries so i don't want to take it from you...
no subject
[He can always buy more diaries. Sharing something with his cousin was worth the sacrifice of one book, collectible or not!]
You aren't taking it from me if I'm sharing, are you? I'll pick another one up in the nearest town or city, it's not a problem!
And hey; don't get too down on humanity! It's not too bad once you get used to it!! Even with all the troublesome additions!
