Harald | Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds

[A: Devotional Atrophy]

[If there had ever been question of how far from home he is, it would be pointless to bring it forth now.

Harald supposes there could be civilisations of long-past in the world that he's simply never heard of, for he is not all-knowing like his deity. Rather, it's the lack of record of anything else that has him so perturbed, the lack of any record of his own home, his own gods. There is so much in this world to witness, yes, but in the end the perpetual loneliness he feels wins over his desire to explore. He is alone in this world. Odin is gone.

He doesn't want to dwell on the ever-unsettling sensation of being here by himself after so long with a presence beside him. There's so much he wants to see, and he'll do what he can to push his mind off of it. Currently, to varying success, this involves wandering the market streets of Ecruteak City, browsing the wares of various stalls and occasionally striking up conversation with one of the shopkeepers. If nothing else, he at least looks to be in a pleasant enough mood.

He's still speaking with someone as he takes a step to the side, bidding them goodbye before intending to walk away-- only to accidentally bump into another person nearby. Harald quickly recovers and moves back to give them some space, lowering his head slightly.]

Oh! I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going...!

[Near his own feet, a two-tailed Vulpix trills in amusement.]

[B: Another Mythology]

[Just because his own gods are not of this world doesn't mean there aren't other mythological wonders to explore. Furthermore, just because he's devoted to one mythology doesn't mean he won't be interested in others.

If anything, Harald is quite excited to immerse himself in ancient mysteries. Investigating old lore is a personal favourite pastime of his, and though he obviously doesn't know everything, he's still familiar with a great deal of his world's myths on a baseline level. Here, however?

Everything is new, exciting, and he is here for it.]

My, my... What do you make of this, Sulfr? [he asks aloud to the Vulpix wagging its tails at his feet. The pair is staring at a string of Unown symbols on the wall. Harald glances back and forth between the writing and his PokéGear. Meanwhile, the Vulpix - Sulfr, it seems - paws at more symbols on the ground.

Sulfr begins to yip, and Harald turns to find that he has some company.]
Aah, I see that there are plenty of others interested in this kind of thing. This place is a wonderful oddity, is it not?

[C: Absent Melancholy]

Sulfr, look there...

[Harald doesn't recall there being reports of any Spheals along the Ice Path. He certainly hasn't seen any around the area before now, and when he checks his PokéGear, he finds no information regarding such a presence either. What a puzzling scenario.

He's hesitant to approach it, for he doesn't want to startle the little one into fleeing. Does this Spheal belong to a trainer, perhaps? It's the only one around as far as he can tell... He chooses to set a berry nearby and retreat to watch and give it some space.

Sure enough, the Spheal notices the treat in wait, but instead of waddling over, it rolls until it's reached the berry. Harald has never seen anything like that before.]

Ohhh...

[The Spheal, soon satisfied, begins to roll off down the path. A fascinated glimmer in his eyes, Harald begins to follow it, taking small steps behind the little Pokémon as it continues its journey. Sulfr hops beside him.]

...so cute...
