[G'rhyf is still of the opinion that G'raha should have come along to help clear out the defenses--he'd already proved his ability to keep up, and his knowledge would have been a huge help to them in there besides. If Rammbroes and Cid hadn't had such a keen eye on him, they would have spirited him off to come with the rest of the adventurers anyway!]

[But that's the past, and nothing to be done of it now. And speaking of now...]

Is it really praise if all I'm speaking is the truth? [G'rhyf smiles up at him, leaning a little bit more into him...then glances away shyly.] But I'm glad I hadn't upset you.

[Another small pause, as G'rhyf chews on their lip for a moment. Should they ask? Is this even worth bringing up at all, after all this time?] ...was I...were you disappointed, getting to know who I really was? Past the whole 'saviour of the realm' nonsense?

[It's a quiet little fear they've always held in the back of their mind. The title of 'Warrior of Light' never fit well on their shoulders, when it felt like they only barely scraped through defeating the foes in front of them or stumbling into convincing people to work together. Ala Mhigo and Doma especially felt like they were little more than some strange combination of good luck charm and cudgel, throwing themself at the problems they could solve and standing around awkwardly when things inevitably turned to politics and esoterics.]

[Yet everyone spoke of them like some vaunted figure out of legend, making it sound like it was G'rhyf that single-handedly saved everyone when there were so many others that had toiled to make those victories happen. Even back when their greatest accomplishment was the destruction of the Ultima Weapon the tales already loomed higher than they stood, and they hadn't yet learned to at least pretend it wasn't mostly lies. How couldn't someone be at least a little let down, seeing the fool mess of a person they really were?]
