( Despite Val's current dilemma, Odette can say the sensation of being a human again is actually... rather pleasant? Strange, yes. After months of adapting to the utilitarian need to consume blood to survive, she could not argue losing the powers that made her feel a sliver of autonomy for the first time in her life wasn't strange. But at the same time: not worrying about harming others when she needs to feed, or the Beast constantly whispering in her ear, was at least, something of a relief.

And besides, who needs vampire abilities when you a cute Hatenna perched on your shoulder to protect you? Who is, at present, nuzzling against Odie's cheek, as she hears the absolute siren song of a familiar voice calling to her.
