Doubtful.

( And he kind of just had some grail mud dumped on his head and woke up in weird Pokemon afterlife, so he's not exactly in the greatest mood. )

I'm not the only one either, apparently lots of folks had some sort of interdimensional Freaky Friday happen.

I see. Given the circumstances, perhaps I've found myself somewhat blasé. Don't think I don't sympathize-- or even empathize with your situation. You find the experience to be disorienting. I'm sorry. If given the choice, I don't think I would have asked to been born a mage.
( Being inundated with mage bullshit your entire life kind of sucks tbh. )
Nor do I want you to take this as some sort of contest between us as to who's had a harder life. That isn't interesting to me. But allow me to ask: how familiar are you with Angra Mainyu?
no subject
Anyway.
Are we talking about "the embodiment of evil in the Zoroastrian religion", or is there something else I'm missing here?
no subject
( He might be uhhhh, really fukkin bitter about this. )
Let's put it like this: I was conscripted to fight in a war between mages by a relative who apparently summoned Angra Mainyu some 50 years ago, and he came back to take on the form of my wife and curse me with all the world's evil. Needless to say, I find the environment here somewhat preferable.
( You know, the one where he does not have to engage with magic. )

A sudden, painless death would be a kindness to these bastards.
( He... has opinions, okay? )

Yeah, fuck, no, I get it. I barely understand mage bullshit but... I get it.
Ever heard of the Camarilla?
no subject
It's a Spanish word, right? A group of nefarious people. I'm assuming in this context they're some kind of organization?

Cw: ableism/forced institutionalization/medical horror
Anyway, you ready for storytime?

Are you some kind of undead apostle or something?
But no, that's fine. Feel free to tell me as much or as little as you like. I will be a sympathetic ear.
CW: 1960s era medical horror/medical abuse/casual ableist language
...it's possible.
Anyway. I was there, in the hospital. The fucks that ran the place were having me wait to get my brains scooped out. Fun times, wish they, you know, asked me how I felt about it.
One of the doctors there has me taken to his office and gives me an offer I literally cannot refuse unless I already took that damn icepick to the face.
And as much as that guy was a piece of shit, accepting the "curse" of Cain was probably one of the best decisions I've made.
Am I making sense so far?
1/2
( Sorry Val, you just happened to single out the local SI in your area. )
Cannot really blame you, though. Sounds as though you were given a pretty rotten deal. When our understanding of mental and emotional health is constantly advancing, and society isn't particularly kind to those who are suffering. Eight years of Reagan certainly didn't help while I spent time in America.
2/2
Are you claiming the biblical Cain was a vampire?
( Well, if Angra Mainyu exists, anything is possible. )
no subject
Second,
Yes.

This isn't a contest. I just don't want you to think I'm out to get you or anything. If it helps, I've also killed a ton of other mages.
( God, he could use a cigarette about now. )
So would that make Cain one of those True Ancestors, if I'm not mistaken?
1/2
Either way, I...guess? If that's what you want to call it. He's the first one, and actually
let me draw you a chart

I am not going to get into the big red D's other than imagine if you could eat your dad, take his power, and then YOU'RE the dad now.
no subject
( Well that's A LOT, and he's not quite sure he understands it all, but. )
Cannot say I enjoy the idea of vampiric mages. ( This Tremere guy can go to hell. ) Honestly, I killed my own father and inherited his crest, so I suppose that's not too dissimilar.
( Lol, lmao. )
