Urobuchi robbed us smh.
( He jests, of course! Considering Vulpix's gentle demeanor, this turn of events isn't too much of a surprise to him. But he's not thinking too hard about that right now. Iri, she's warm. Her presence: comfortable. He can feel himself slipping again: fitting himself against her frame, nuzzling his nose against her cheek. And this time-- away from the constraints from the grail war, he can simply relax. Allowing himself to drift, as his eyes fixate on the Pokemon before them, watching as the Vulpix rubs her nose against the little Snorunt.
If he was losing his edge, he really couldn't care less. )
Urobuchi is a career thief
[Her arm wraps around his back, allowing the two of them to just sit there nestled against each other, a spot of warmth in the middle of this seasonal cold.
Speaking of which, she tilts her head in curiosity at the two of them.]
You know, I understand why mine seems perfectly alright in this weather, but your little fox is adapting surprisingly well too.
[Did foxes hibernate? Iri can't recall, though of course this isn't a normal fox regardless of appearances.
Regardless, she can't help but giggle as her Snorunt stoops down, picks up a handful of snow, sculps it into a ball and throws it for Vulpix to catch.] Oh how sweet! They make such fast friends.

I think she's built for it, Iri. ( He pulls out his Pokegear, and brings up Vulpix's Pokedex entry, speaking at least somewhat like an excitable child. ) Look at this: it says she likes to form ice crystals in the summer to keep herself cool.
( He might be getting into this whole Pokemon thing.
Vulpix is quick to hop off the ground, bouncing the snowball back to Snorunt with her tail. )
It should help them, too, when it comes to training, I think.
( Playmate and battle partner? Sounds like an ideal arrangement to him. )

Curiosity spreads over her face as she looks at the strange device. She wasn't able to make heads or tails of it, but her husband, bless him, has figured it out in no time. She smiles fondly at the description.]
An ice fox, hmmm? Well, that's convenient for both of us. Or perhaps deliberate of the people here, to make things easier on the newcomers.
[Though that woman she saw when she woke seemed a bit too... vague to have planned things out that far. The Professor, though, maybe.]
Mmmm, looking at the two of them, it seems like training and playing might end up being the same thing!
[Indeed, Snorunt is already skittering into place to catch the ball and throw it again, making pleased noises the whole way.]
Sorry for the delay. jskdfhkjh
You think so, huh?
( And, after having strategically wrapped an arm around Iri's waist, he draws her in so close, leaning his head atop shoulder. The other hand, handing off his Pokedex to Iri. )
Why don't you try? Look up information on your little partner here?
( Similarly, Vulpix makes a happy sounding squeak as she continues to hop around, batting the snowball back to the Snorunt. )
Right back at you
And then he holds out that piece of technology to her. The one that reminds her of that cell phone he gave her, only vastly more complicated. She grimaces at it, but reaches out nonetheless, because she would like to know more about the little creature.]
I... believe they called her a Snorunt? S... S...
[She spends what feels like entirely too much time trying to find the "S" button on the device, but the typing of her little one's name goes forward nonetheless.]

It's alright, Iri. Try hitting this.
( Having her fingers brush against the keys first might help her remember it easier. )

The letters are laid out in such a strange fashion...
[There must be some logic to it, but she can't think of what it could be. Nonetheless, it's not exactly a very long word, and as she presses the ENTER button, she reads aloud the description that the device calls up.]
"Survives by only eating snow and ice." Well that's just water. And I suppose whatever's frozen inside it. It's impressive that's all it needs... "Old folklore claims that a house visited by this Pokémon is sure to prosper for many generations to come." How nice! I do hope that qualifies if we don't currently have a house, as well.
