How could they even begin to explain? "Beyond incredible. I'm so annoyed my implants are missing, which- how did they even do that? So bizarre- but if I had my holopalm I'd be happy to show you pictures. Especially from Glow season, the suns set and they don't come back up for weeks- and it's like the entire planet comes alive then, there's about a billion different types of bioluminescent plants and fungi that bloom then..."

The Umbreon trills happily again, tilting her head into those delightful scritches! Yes please! More of that!

Shiro honestly could stand here and listen to them go on for hours. A whole new colony in a whole new system. That's incredible. Humanity had only gotten to the very edge of the solar system in his world - the entirety of Voltron notwithstanding. "I can't explain how they deal with technology here," he admits, nodding slightly to his right arm. At least he still had an arm - it hadn't been removed, just, not the weapon it was made to be.

"But your plant sounds incredible. Is everything bio-luminescent there? Or just during that season?"

[Ironically, Radley would definitely know Galra. He knows Altean too. However, not knowing if this guy is friend or foe to his friends, he doesn't want to reveal much yet.]

Hi there. I'm not sure why non-humans change. I don't think it's fair myself. I don't think anyone has any answers about it.

I would say it is fair that all brought here are put on equal footing in terms of what they are and can innately do. I just don't think fairness is worth the cost.

Hmm, well, I guess you have a better answer than I do then. You've probably answered your own question on why it's done.

[Several cute Eevee calls sound in the background. Radley chuckles.]

I'm Radley, by the way. That was Evie, Isla, and Scotch who just talked.

Those are Pokemon companions of yours, I assume?

Yeah, they're Eevees. I breed them.

What can they say? Sol had always been a sucker for a cute animal that enjoyed attention. "Just during glow. It's dangerous," or at least it used to be- "but worth it. I've never felt more connected to the entire ecosystem than I do during Glow. I swear sometimes I can sit outside, close my eyes, and just hear the whole world... breathe."

Sure means nothing to me, dude.

I was mostly human, but also kinda dead, and now I'm good as new again. Dunno how they managed that.

It sure fuckin' isn't. I've never heard of something like that where I'm from. You gotta have money for everything.

Yeah, pretty much! In some ways this place is better, but I still miss home.

Now, they could mean that in the general sort of feel the world around them sort of statement. But this is Shiro, who has been on an actual, living planet before, one made of a giant, living organism.

Oh, yeah? [ Bakery. Okay, well- He does know what that is. There aren't many that he's been in but that's a small comfort. Similarities.

The creature gives a couple of tippy-taps of his feet impatiently. He looks from Atreus to the strange woman and back to the pokepuff. Eventually, he seems to decide that there is time for a snack before rushing off headlong. He scampers back over to nab it from her hand and jump back a little bit while it eats. ]

Thank you though. I mean, I just got here and... I don't really know how it all goes but you seem to understand enough.

Explorer? That gets a small smile from the boy. Well, he hadn't thought of it that way before but... "Yeah, I guess he kind of is. Me, too. We traveled across almost all the nine realms together." It doesn't seem a strange thing to say. Little will he knows just how strange his reality may be for some.

"Let me-"

The boys speak in unison and Atreus gives a small blink. It's a bit surreal to hear his voice come from someone - something? - else. Still, if Odin had the ability to shapeshift... He supposes this isn't out of the ordinary. "...see," the main talker hear continues as he takes the map. "I'm Loki, by the way," he adds, looking at the map. "And this is Atreus." A gesture to the other him.

[ Oh, hey, she recognizes that grumpy gills... They'd only jammed out, like, the once. Then she was in his house half-naked making pancakes.

It feels like forever ago. Was it? It seems like it was. ]

Psht, you couldn't afford what I had to offer anyway.

[ Oh. Oh, no, that's cute. She crouches down to give them pets and pets for being good Pokemon. Momirobara, meanwhile, stops by her side and then sploots onto his stomach with a yawn. So tiring, all this walking... ]

I don't know? Maybe. I mean, I hope not, but like... I definitely wasn't here, it seems like.

Last I remember was going back to the Pokemon past. I don't think I made it back with everyone.

You did?

[ She sounds genuinely surprised and simultaneously touched about the information. If there was anyone she'd trust to look after Momi, Little Guy, and even Flipflap... It probably would have been Byleth. ]

I didn't mean to, like, worry you though. I wouldn't have left if I had a choice. [ A lie. Or is it? Damn, feelings are

difficult. ]

[Evie warbles in delight!

Radley stares in horror.]

So you've just been wandering in limbo?!

[Why would Arceus do that?!]

"Hey, no worries. I remember my first time in the presence of such majestic beasts. It was Momi here though that ended up being my partner... How could he not be?" Look at him. He's perfect! The offered hand gets an appendage in return to hold. Confused, certainly, but sincere. Is this what he is supposed to do? It seems like that's what this woman wanted, what he's supposed to be doing.

"My name's Rose," she offers, giving a winning smile, "and I'm a bit more accustomed to this place but... Guess I've been out of it for a while, maybe? Still kind of figuring it out."

Sol smiled softly, standing after successfully negotiating the sacred maneuver known among pet owners everywhere as- gimme paw.

"Rose... That's such a pretty name. Maybe I'm biased, but something about plant-based names just... appeals." She smiled, offering a hand. "Solanaceae. But honestly, only my mom calls me that when she's mad, just Sol's fine."

"My friends call me Sol, and Solanaceae's kind of a mouthful, so it works for everyone else, too." They beamed, glancing between the two. Loki and Atreus. There was... actually almost no difference between the two. A slight difference in the eyes, maybe, a vague sense that Atreus was enjoying some sort of private joke, but other than that they were uncannily identical, even for twins.

They did open the map, though, showing it to the pair. "I've got as far as figuring I started in New Bark Town, and this would be Route 29, but other than that..." They gestured vaguely at the assorted squiggles. "No landmarks. There's supposed to be an intersection with another road, here, but I must have missed it."

The question was worth considering, actually. "I... meant it metaphorically. But Vertumna's ecosystem is very interconnected, to the point that entire forests are really just one giant network of connected organisms. Divisions we put a lot of stock into on earth- like the division between plant and fungus, or even plant and animal- all seem to not mean as much there. Glow is... supposed to be a time of healing, for Vertumna to regrow and rest. So in a sense, I guess it is literally true, too."

I did. I'm glad to see you.

[ There's a certain warmth to his voice that had been lacking before. ]

They've been good.

Except Flip-Flap. He's a right little bastard.

"Oh, hah - sorry. I uh. My team and I actually landed on a living planet once. I got excited."

To put it mildly. It's been a while since he spoke with anyone who'd been to space, or was very familiar with it.

"But that's still really fascinating. I love hearing about other worlds like that."
