[Eda snorts softly, rolling her eyes. She's not exactly surprised by a bit of grumbling after both the hit to the head and her laughing at him over it, but that doesn't mean she has to take it.]

Hey, I was just making sure you're alright. Sorry I didn't think to try and catch it by licking it.

“Oh my. Do they try to flirt with a lot of ladies in your world that often?”

Isabela’s eyes widen in surprise, wondering what Tristan’s guy friends are thinking when she heard that last one. Carmen, being still a young Pokémon, looks to be very stumped about the dating behavior of humans with a stumped look on her face.

“Bud? Dew?”

"Oh.. the guys?" He was stunned momentarily by her question since he hadn't expected such directness. "No.. I uh.. I meant they're not as nice to look at. That's all.. but I guess Duke has a reputation for flirting with... ha.. anyway. Can you just forget everything I said for the last five minutes?" Shifting uneasily as he spoke, his chimchar clung on for stability.

Wow, it was only his first day and he was already making a great first impression.

"It sure seems like it."

Radley pauses, blinking in confusion. "Your gift?"

Oh - no, not that kind of gym! [He rubs the back of his head, a bit awkward about the misunderstanding.]

You know how Pokémon like to fight each other? There's a challenge where you can go to the gyms and challenge the leaders there - your team vs theirs. You get prize money and badges for winning.

[Ryou's been doing it, at least in part, to prove to himself he can protect himself should he have to.]

And yes, there should be a video option on your Gear too.

[Tsk tsk. Figures that Tristan wouldn't consider the feelings of the monsters given his inexperience at dueling. Sure Chimchar might be just a collection of pixels in a video game, but that doesn't mean they gotta go out there and just outright tell him that. Joey's spent too much time with his team to crush their spirit like that though so, obvious as his attempts at discretion might be, he's still going to take a sidebar if it comes to discussing game worlds.

Speaking of game worlds though, did Tristan just say it'd been a matter of weeks ago? Joey makes a very confused face at his bud's revelation, pursing his lips and furrowing his brow in thought.]

Hang on a sec' Tristan. You just said da Grand Championships were a couple'a weeks ago? Dat thing was like... a year n' change! Didja hit ya head comin' in here? Da heck kinda chemicals you been breathin' in at dat factory?

[Joey widens his eyes and shakes his head in emphasis of his disbelief.]

Ya think I sound like a different person? I've been eatin' campin' food for da past six months, but what's gotten into you? It's like you've forgotten everything since graduation man! Maybe gettin' snatched inta dis world did a numbah on ya. You good man?

[Joey quickly reaches into his pack and produces a thermos.]

Maybe ya' just dehydrated. Dat could be it! Have a drink'a water n' get yaself squared man. We can grab ya monkey and get ya some real foo-

[Suddenly noticing that the Chimchar seems to have vanished into thin air, Joey begins looking around.]

Wait. Where'd ya monkey go?

Mirabel was visiting Violet City to check out the gym, having been interested in these "gym challenges". As she's exploring, she gets caught up in the rain. The Pokemon Center seems a little too far away, but as she's making her way there...

"Isabela!"

She'd recognize her sister anywhere... the rain is forgotten as she runs to her.

"ISABELA!!"

Did someone called her name? Isabela could have sworn hearing that familiar voice anywhere as she turns around to find the soruce. When it happened, Isabela almost forgets about her supply shopping and goes running for Mirabel immediately.

“Mira! Mira!” she cries out while Carmen wobbles after her, trying to play catch up.

“Um sure right. Pretending like the last few minutes did not happened,” she nervously chatters about like she just forgot to grab something before going out.

Carmen happily bounces up and down on the ground, trying to get herself excited for the journey, “Budew, Budew, Budew!”

“Wow, you must be very excited to go and see the other places in Jotho, aren’t you, Carmen?”

“Bud-Dew!”

“Oh wait, I haven’t mentioned about the magic in my world? Back in my world, my family has this magical miracle that has been in the family for generatioms and most of us have unique powers of our own that are granted onto us by it as children. Outside of it, everything else is fairly normal. And there is also our home that is very magical and very sentient too.”

Radley ponders this. "Hey, are you related to Luisa and Mirabel Madrigal? That sounds like the story Luisa told me. They're both here!"

“Why yes I’m their older sister… Wait, Luisa and Mira are in here too? Oh dear, how long have they been in here? I’m getting very worried for them right now and I have no idea of where they are at,” Isabela is surprised to learn that Radley has known her sisters for a long time judging by his answer.

Did she missed out anything important they have experienced in this world? She is hoping that her arrival didn’t come in too late.

“That’s great!” Radley beams. “They’ll be so happy to see you. They’re living in Olivine. Unfortunately, that’s not too close to here. But we can call them and they can come out. They’re both doing really well here.”

It's no problem...

[Finally getting his breath back, Ryou thinks about how much to say about his own 'experience' of Battle City, before deciding to just gloss over it all. It's not something he wants to dwell on too much.]

That probably wasn't the greatest meeting, huh?

[Understatement of the millennium right there, and thankfully one he doesn't linger on in favour of just moving on.]

Anyway, were you trying to get out of the rain too?

[It's what he was doing, with a side of exploring deeper if he was going to be stuck in here.]

I suppose the meeting could have gone better... I'm sorry that it was like this.

( she gives a nod. )

Yeah, that's why I was in the cave, trying to get away from the rainfall.

( she hasn't tried to go much deeper because of lack of light. )

( she'll be thoroughly scandalized. )

I'm sure it'll be an interesting story to tell my brother when I find him...

( whenever that is. she shakes her head although he can't see it with her behind him. )

[Completely understandable.

Marik just snorts. Hopefully Joey won't pry...]

[He isn't about to delve into everyone that's here because he wouldn't want everyone announcing he's here ~~like everyone has been doing in their threads #rude no im jking~~ so Marik keeps the list short.]

Joey and Bakura have been here for a few months now. I don't keep tabs on them though.

Just a bit further to Violet and he can dump her off to her brother. As tempting as it is to use her as leverage, he isn't in the mood to deal with Joey.

They eventually arrive and it seems the rain has stalled to a very light drizzle. Should be good enough to leave her with an umbrella. Once he's "parked" outside the pokémon center, Marik leans over and squeezes out his hair.]

I'm going to need to use conditioner tonight... Ugh...

[What a primadonna. He gets up off his Cyclizar and walks over to one side of the saddlebags, pulling out (surprise surprise) a purple umbrella.

The blonde debates for a moment before holding out his hand again, this time to help Serenity off of the pokémon.]

You can stay at the Center for free. They've got temporary lodging there so they won't kick you out before your brother arrives. Speaking of...

[He hands over the umbrella then pulls out his pokégear and brings up Joey's contact info.]

... Up to you if you want to use my gear or just copy this isn't yours. I imagine receiving a call from what appears to be me won't have him exactly thrilled, even if it's actually you.

Keep the umbrella. That was like 200 pokedollars and that's a drop in the bucket for me.

[Now that's not even nice, ~~but accurate~~]

I was already planning on it.

[~~.. And he didn't need the reminder, tyvm~~. They were both familiar enough with Joey to know that sometimes he talked a better game than he played. So to speak.]

It wouldn't be a day ending in "Y" if we weren't getting into something bizarre. [It was almost stranger just to share a quiet day together] I'm in one piece and nothing is currently trying to attack me so I figure.. I'm doing pretty good.

[The thought of trying to get.. oh say.. Carrie to join in on something like this gave Dana some mild amusement. This was definitely something that could break your nails if you were unlucky so it was not something her prissier friend could get into.]

Ah, that was nothing.

[She replied humbly when she was back on the ground. Of course, her newfound friend was just about to find out how "nothing" it had all been. Relinquishing the rope easily, Dana stood back and prepared to handle the cheering this time. It's almost painful to see how slowly the other girl progresses, but Dana still bounces on her heels, and pumps her fist in the air like it's the most incredible attempt she's ever seen.]

You're doing so well! You got this!

[Serenity, did not.. in fact have this but.. ]

That was admirable, especially for a first attempt. Most people don't even make it that far. There just isn't usually a day to day need to climb up a rope, you know?

( she shakes her hands which feel a bit warm from the ropes in spite of the gloves. )

H- Heh, was it? Well, I did my best! That's all that matters. You're really good at this, though. Do you do this kind of thing often?

( serenity isn't super familiar with bakura but she can at least put a face to the name. she keeps the names in her mind for now since she isn't able to contact them at the moment.

when the poke-ride comes to a slowing stop, serenity releases her grasp on marik so that he can move about. the rain is pattering out and the comment about having to deal with his hair goes largely ignored. after everything he's put her friends and family through ( in her timeline ) she's pretty sure he can deal with having to deal with some extra grooming. )

Oh...

( she takes his hand a bit hesitantly although not enough that it gives any tells. serenity's already had her arms around him so taking his hand isn't exactly the worst thing ever. )

( she takes the offered umbrella and pops it opened to hold it over her head. as he retrieves his pokegear, serenity does the same and takes a moment to mimic opening up the contact list. hers doesn't exactly have several people on it so she opts to copy it. )

Might be better if I call him... So I'll just take the contact of his, thanks.

( wait, is he hoping she'll be impressed by his apparent riches? ...she's not.

she gets the contact information and then glances to marik before flicking her gaze back to the pokegear. )

Hmm... You should give me your contact, too. So I can send a thank you later when I have things more... put together.

[He's done it in his timeline as well. Fresh from Battle City so he's without his split personality but his soul still hasn't fully reformed itself. Which means bratty child that behaves when people are watching but still leans into bad behaviors from time to time.

At least she thanked him without prompting this time.]

Yeah.

[He puts his pokégear away once she's copied Joey's info, thankful that she's going to call him on her own device rather than his.

When Serenity asks for his own so she can give him something, that takes him aback for a moment.]

... Don't worry about it.

[Still, he tells her his username and pokégear number.

Her offer almost makes him feel bad for saying what he's about to ask:]

Can I get my coat back?

( at least they're on the same awful page, then. she's not super ready to forgive him yet -- mostly because she has no idea if joey has. his help has been pretty invaluable although try getting her to admit it. )

I'll ... do my best to pay it forward, then.

( not that she assumes he cares. but she does. she takes his information after plugging in her brother's into the pokegear. when he asks for the coat back, she flushes for some reason and clears her throat. )

Huh? Oh! Yeah, of course. H- Here...

( she pulls the coat off, switching the umbrella from one hand to the other in order to remove it without getting herself ( more ) wet from the water. )

Thanks for the use of it.

[She'll find that Joey is waiting to test him before he goes about forgiving the gremlin.

Marik will just... hold on to that for the time being. She'll pay it forward. Normally he'd think to turn it down but... hmm. That might come in handy down the line.

But then Joey. Ugh.]

[He had been tempted to make a jab about her wanting to keep it because it smells good (he douses everything in his perfume) but decides against it. No need to push his luck. Marik does, however, decide to go for the other low hanging fruit.]

[Because that's why he got that specific coat. It looks a lot like his Rare Hunter cultist robes.

Chenzira, who's been tucked into his coat the entire time, gives him an upward, disapproving glance. Marik folds the coat up and places it back in the saddlebag.]

If you can't get a hold of him...

[Shit. Foot in mouth. It's too late to back out now. Chen nods to himself in approval.]

[The Yamask mutters something to Marik that sounds like "munny?"

His trainer clicks his tongue. Sure, it'll buy him brownie points but it's the principle of the thing.]

... I'll send you some money too so you can buy some supplies or whatever until Joey arrives.
