On this particular path, Sion just happened to be returning from some errands in Ecruteak. Undoubtedly, he and Ryner could have whatever supplies they needed delivered right to their door if they so chose, granted, it still provided a nice excuse to stop by the city. Today Sion even walked there and back rather than flying; it was a nice day and he knew he could use the exercise. Dusk certainly agreed, the absol trotting along beside him.
As it happened, Sion was somewhat eager to get home--he'd finally gotten his hands on a particular book he'd been wanting to have a look at--but spotting the young woman strolling up the road makes him pause. Partly because of the sight of an unfamiliar face, but partly, well, because of what he's hearing.
