ALSO, AS PROMPTS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Last month's mini-events!
Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.
Swarm: Sunday, July 31: Illumise and Volbeat

ASGORE | Undertale
[This is a very, very large man. He could easily be intimidating, but his expression is concerned, and he's cupping one big hand carefully around a tiny Sunkern.]
Ah, excuse me? Is this the Internet? [It's probably the Internet; this resembles the phone Alphys made him.] I found this little monster hiding in the bag I was given. Are their parents around?
[Swarm]
[There's swarms of Illumise and Volbeat out this evening. Seedy is out of his ball, but he's just sitting on Asgore's head. They aren't going to fight anything tonight if he can help it; they're sitting on a hill, a little bit above the action, watching the lights dance.
Asgore looks contemplative, not quite seeing the Pokemon he's looking at. What a strange situation. He's human, which is...complicated, and he's separated from Frisk and the others. But perhaps that is for the best. His people don't need him in the same way they once did. They have Toriel again now, and even Frisk. And this world is not so terrible. He's on the surface, isn't he?
He's alright.]
Yes, this is Internet. Would you like us to rev up the search engines today or are you feeling lucky re: your incoming query results?
no subject
He is aware that the Internet is not a human child though, so. Does he maybe work for the Internet?]
Oh, howdy! My name is Asgore.
Can the "search engines" help find this little one's family? I think he is much too young to be wandering on his own.
no subject
From what I've seen, Pokémon don't actually care too much about sticking with their nuclear families and are actually way more invested in buddying up with a good trainer. So did you actually find that wandering around? 'Cause I think it might be yours.
no subject
Mine? But we have only just met... [Asgore turns a worried look down at the Sunkern, who is...sort of bouncing. How do Sunkern move I don't know] Also, I am not quite sure where we are.

no subject
[He's obviously a bit taken aback by all that, but he hadn't had the heart to press the issue with her. She seemed very confused, and taking the bag to go on his "journey" made her happy.]
no subject
no subject
[He doesn't seem surprised by this, given the whirlwind of bizarreness that's happening right now]

Pokemon? Not monsters? [Monsters can look like basically anything, so he'd just assumed] I...suppose I would be happy to raise this one, if its family cannot be found. But why would I want to catch others?
Swarm
[Of course, they don't recognize Asgore right away, not without the fur and horns and ears, but he still gives off that aura of gentle kindness, and Frisk feels no fear in climbing up the hill to greet him.]
Hi! They're really pretty, aren't they?
no subject
They are! I'm glad you are enjoying them, Frisk.
a billion years late i'm so sorry
[He knows them? But Frisk doesn't recognize him--wait. They don't recognize his face, but that voice, on the other hand...]
Dad?! Issat you?
Swarm
[The voice that calls out behind Asgore may not register as familiar right away. It's accompanied by a trill of Flabeh~, and another small creature floats over to Asgore. It lowers itself so he can see it - a Flabebe with a yellow flower, looking for all the world like the happiest little creature you ever could see - before it floats up again, chirping cheerfully to the Sunkern on Asgore's head.
There's a distinct sound of footsteps and underfoot grass, and someone stops.]
Gracie, what're you doing -
[Oh. OH. Oh no she's. Bothering an adult. Oh no.]
I-I'm sorry, sir...could I...please have my, um, my Gracie back...?
no subject
Of course! It is no trouble. [He turns to look down at the boy, moving carefully so as not to dislodge his own Pokemon. And if the human child's appearance takes him strangely, well, it's not the first time for that either.] She is only making friends with Seedy here, see?
no subject
But...it didn't make sense. That voice, in a human's body? It couldn't mean...]
Uh...y-yeah, but...she's real little, I-I didn't want to lose her, or...
[Oh it is REALLY hard for him not to stammer.]
no subject
Asgore stays seated, the better not to completely tower over the child, and smiles down at him. There may be a touch of pain in the crinkles around his eyes, but that's alright. He needn't trouble anyone with that.]
Of course not. It is good of you to keep such a close eye on her. [He turns to look at the little creature again. Yellow flowers, hm.] What type of Pokemon is she?
no subject
But he hasn't been asked anything that might indicate that Asgore is suspicious. So...maybe if he just...keeps the conversation light, then it won't come up. Yeah!
As if to help, Gracie twirls her flower, smiling and showing off. See, she's very little, but she's quite strong!]
S-She's a Fairy type. The, um...Pokedex-thing said she's a Flabebe, but, I call her Gracie. 'Cause she's graceful.
no subject
on that note, asgore is never allowed to have a flabebe MOVING ON
Asgore seems a little ill-at-ease himself, but certainly nowhere near as much as the child. The boy does remind him of Asriel - that makes it worse, the thought that he's frightening him. He often worries about that, with human children, even now as a human himself.]
Ah, yes. That does make sense. Seedy is a grass-type - a Sunkern.
[awk...ward pause]
The lights are very nice, aren't they, young one?
no subject
He just...nods. keeping his breath even and calm in an attempt to relax. There's no need to be scared. His Dad is the least scary person in the world. So long as things don't stray into sad places, both of them will be fine.
Asriel turns to look at the lights at Asgore's question.] Y-Yeah...those are...Bug Pokemon, right? I-I guess they don't get scared of the dark. They're their own nightlights.
no subject
They are, aren't they? [Asgore chuckles deeply. This seems to be getting...better? Yes, probably that. He supposes there's no real reason he ought to continue the conversation - being a total stranger - but the boy doesn't seem to have any adults with him, and Pokemon aside it is quite dark.] They are called Volbeat and Illumise...though, I do not remember which one is which.
no subject
Dad noIt is getting better - at least, it's getting a little easier. Still, Asriel can't let his guard down completely, less he say or do something stupid. He doesn't want to make anyone sad if he can help it.]
I don't know either. But they're still really pretty! Flying around and making light all the time...they've gotta be happy.
Swarm;
Trailing behind her are yards and yards of blonde hair, looking more like a river flowing UPHILL rather than hair. No wonder she's so out of breath, with the way she's running to reach the top. Gaze locked on her goal she doesn't stop until she's standing just a few feet away from Asgore, otherwise side by side. With her hands finding her knees and her chest heaving Rapunzel... grins excitedly. ]
I knew it! The view is even more amazing from up here. Gwen, come out. You have to see this!
[ Whoever she's talking to now it seems she didn't immediately notice the... very hard to miss, very large man sitting there. In her defense, though, in the dark with him sitting so peaceful and still, and with her so intent on seeing these lights for herself, she might as well have been running with blinders on. That doesn't last for long, though.
After a few deep gulps of air she finally looks over, spots Asgore, stares... and offers a sheepish little wave of her fingers and an embarrassed smile. ]
... Oh, ah... hello...! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt.
