Action - Arrival

Diana's not entirely sure how long she just sat upright in the bed she found herself in. She'd screamed when she woke up. But the complete contrast of her new surroundings to those moments before was so absolute that she'd frozen. The walls around her may not be colourful but they were clean, free of damp and mold and graffiti. The floor too. There was nothing. When had it become a surprise for her to see the floor of a room so empty? She brought the sheets up to her face and sniffed. Clean. Detergent.

And then she'd cried. She didn't know how long she did that for either. Long enough for her head to throb and her eyes to sting. For the sheets grasped in her hands to be marked with damp patches of salt water and mucus. She felt light-headed and didn't realize how dizzy she was until she tried to dress herself. Since when had putting on trousers been so difficult?

She'd knocked the ball over with her stumbling. She'd screamed at the noise and light it created. She and the weird lizard that appeared had stared at each other in silence until it took a step towards her. Then she'd cursed at it, thrown a pillow and pressed herself right into the corner of the room. The thing had panicked and scurried under her bed.

It had been a quarter of an hour before Diana tried to sneak for the door. The lizard peered at her from the gap. She pressed herself against the wall and tried not to look. But then had to look, because she had to make sure she knew where it was.

After half an hour of watching each other, the creature took some cautious steps from out under the bed as Diana remained rooted to the spot. It picked up its weird capsule and wobbled over to her on two legs like a uncoordinated toddler, holding it out to her.

Finally, she and the monster exit the room. Diana is still glancing at it wearily with her swollen pink eyes as it trails behind her but right now she's more focused on finding some other actual humans. Preferably over the age of fifteen.

Video - Another millennial making videos

[The video starts with a shot of Diana's face, she's clearly holding the camera out with one hand and seems to be comfortable recording herself this way.]

Aaaand, that should do it. Recording, right? Of course. I might not have used a phone in a year but it's not that hard to figure out.

[She pauses for a minute to turn her head from side to side, squinting a little at the camera and smacking her lips.]

Man, I look killer on this camera. I'll have to take some selfies later.

[She tosses her hair.] Anyway, I'm just doing this little vlog-thing to see if anyone has a good suggestions on fast food joints nearby? I've been craving some fried chicken for about a year now.

Ssssssssss!

[Diana pans the camera down to focus on the Salandit looking up at her.] What? You wanna try some too?

Sssssssala!

[The camera comes back to Diana.]

Well, you heard her, a fried chicken place that's er, 'pet friendly' I guess?

Honestly I've been eating vegetarian since I got here. I'm not entirely certain if there's anything like meat here.

[Like there's milk and stuff but uh...]

They don't have meat? So, is it, vegetarian as in, we have meat but it's fake or vegetarian as is, we only eat raw foods because we're pretentious?

I never went out and looked to be honest. I've been traveling light lately, so I mostly have trail food in between stops at the Pokecenters.

I could probably go for a tofu burger anyhow. I'm not used to there being readily available meat all the time on a whim. One of those things from living in Japan. Meat like beef and pork is a luxury there.

I grew up on tofu. It's pretty much a national staple, and there's fries and drinks to supplement the intake.

Well, you could try Goldenrod. I'm sure there's a lot of people there that have better food for sale.

I meant the trail food not filling you up. I'm not saying I won't eat that, or tofu, or anything really.

Oh, I'm already at that place. Guess I'll have to have a look around.

Oh yeah, kinda. But I manage to hit a Pokecenter every so often and I can find food there.

Okay cool. There's some nice places there.

Depends where you are, but your Gear should have a map installed. As for any specific cravings, I've seen poultry sold in shops around most towns. Sealed, unfortunately, but shouldn't be too hard to fry it up yourself.

Most restaurants outside of New Bark Town should cater to trainers and their Pokémon, if your friend's feeling hungry, too.

[As it so happens Jinx is new here too and trying to make her way out of this place as stealthily as she can.

Unfortunately as her luck would have it, her partner is trying to help and snags her skirt when he hears someone coming. The end result is Jinx stumbling, the absol being dragged along and both of them crashing into a heap on the floor just five feet away from Diana.]

[Diana can't decide if she's disappointed she's run into another teen or glad because at least she knows how to interact with someone closer to her age. At least it's definitely someone new, no one at Perdido Beach had pink hair. Remembering to dye your hair wasn't usually at the top of anyone's to do list anymore.]

How's it look down there?

[She tried to snark, but she's already taking a step back from the monster with large black claws.]

"Like it could use a fresh sweeping." She grumbles hauling her embarrassed self to a sitting position and shooting a death glare at her pokemon who hangs his head sheepishly.

Whipping her head around to look at Diana she tries to size her up as a threat.

"So who are you then?"

[Diana is hardly threatening, her clothes are hanging off her thin frame and she's still casting distrusting looks at the Absol.]

Diana. You?

[Good enough for Jinx, she'll rise to her feet now and dust off, smoothing out her skirt.]

Jinx. And I don't know about you but I'm getting out of here before I get recruited into something stupid and probably dangerous.

[She spent months trying to earn the Titan's trust just to get sucked back into a group like this. No thanks.]

Well, I think since we woke up here with clothes and a room and junk, I'm pretty sure we already are.

[She shrugs. After all she is wearing the uniform.]

I mean, I didn't sign anything yet...not that I have a lawyer to get me out of it if I did.

[Time to explore. She's not going back the way she came so she'll try and get past Diana to keep going down the hall.]

Besides, I don't like getting abducted. It's not cool among other things.

I'm guessing these guys probably don't work like that.

[Maybe Diana's just too used to being forced into situations now that the idea of things being 'illegal' is foreign to her. She moves to let Jinx past then follows after her.]

You seem pretty okay letting this thing hang around you.

Well it's not hurting me yet, and I can defend myself if it tries to.

[The Absol huffs sounding a little offended that Diana would even suggest he might hurt Jinx.]

What about yours? Has it tried anything funny yet?

[Diana may not be a threat but both these monsters are plenty healthy after all.]
