IT’S A CR MEME
It’s been a good long time since we had one of these, and with the year about half over, and several new players in our midst, lets get together and get some (new) CR going.

Also included this time is a small extra form to help Team Rocket players find victims others willing to play out some Rocket shenanigans. I’m sure it’d be a great help to our Rocket players if people’d be willing to take the bit of extra time to fill it out. This could also be used to plot longer term things, so it’d be great to mention if you’d be interested in things in the future even if you aren’t able to do so right now.

Cliffnotes: Here's his app and here's his trainer page. Right now he's hanging around the Sevii Islands or working on the scavenger hunt. He's also usually doing something music related with his trumpet, like busking or finding freelance work.

Looking for: Anything! Kazuki still wanders around a lot, but he'd like to settle down and plant roots somewhere where he can do musical work and his Pokemon can hang with him. He hasn't found the perfect place to do that yet. I don't mind if someone wants to antagonize him either, but just let it be known that he doesn't have a mean bone in his body and wouldn't reciprocate very well. There's a reason he's a breeder; he's a lover, not a fighter.

Also there was a lot of shit with space gladiators and science experiments. His life was pretty terrible, to be honest.

Looking for: He has an alarming tendency to adopt people. Or just fork out advice, to try and help wherever he goes. He's working on collecting the Gym Badges, and just got the Mineral Badge from Olivine. I'm open to friendships and rivalries both! He's super into space, and currently living in the Sevii Islands. Stargazing is definitely a hobby of his...

He can't cook to save his life, though.

Cliffnotes: Giant transforming ninja robot who was raised in secret and isolation with his prototype, and best friend in the world. Lost his friend in a horrible submarine accident, and never really got over it. Very closed-off about himself despite being a friendly and outgoing personality. Died once, while fighting aliens all by himself, since he's the only member of the robot police force who can't combine with the others.

He also has a kickass 90's power-sax theme song.

Looking for: CURRENTLY, Shadowmaru is bumming around Olivine, trying to start a career as either a police officer or a Staryutube Star. His channel is "DarkWolfFashion" because he has a weird fixation on wolves. He's got a Growlithe and a Froakie... and loves dogs. Dogs and birds. He really needs more to do with his day, tbh.

Name Armin Arlert; schachmeister
Canon: Attack on Titan
Cliffnotes: Armin's defining feature is his boundless curiosity and drive to learn. Even when hailing from a world where such things were outlawed, Armin still relentlessly pursued his passions. However, while analytical and intelligent, Armin's physical skills have always been lacking which left him with some self-esteem issues. Though he has been working on that, he'll also be the first to play down his own achievements. Coming from such a harsh world has left its marks on Armin: not only has he witnessed three massacres, but he has been in the army since he was twelve (he'll be turning 18 in November), and has been known to hold uncompromising beliefs (such as the belief that sometimes you need monsters to fight monsters). While kind and emphatic, Armin isn't much of a social butterfly, and can get awkward around new people. Armin is also a thoughtful person, so don't expect rash actions or words from him. He's the type to always carefully think over what he wants to do and say, which can lead to critical cases of overthinking things and keeping a lot of his thoughts close to his chest.

As mentioned, he's been here for nearly two years. He's mostly indulging in his curiosities and getting more involved in poke-research rather than battling. Normally he works as an intern at the Marine Pokemon Research Centre on the Sevii Islands, but right now he is on a break while scavenger hunting. Armin has a huge passion for the ocean and the pokemon that live in it, so as such, he has a ton of water pokemon, and his Wailord (and her calf) are among his most prized pokemon. Armin is also the kind of guy who has swallowed every book on pokemon he could get his hand on, so if you ever need some battle advice or an explanation on something, he's a good guy to ask. Though you might end up knowing more than you needed to.

Looking for: Right now, my top priority is going to be (backdated) scavenger hunt shenanigans. Basically, Armin has spent the whole of June in Kanto to tick off people on the list, and he'll be spending the month of July in Johto to do the same thing. I'd love for Armin to perhaps team up or run into other characters while searching for these people (especially seeing as that was a thought that came up a few times between him and other characters). So let me know what people you'd like to team up for and we can work something out time-wise. Again, his rough timeline is June in Kanto (which I'd be super jazzed to backdate for or backdate any other encounters), then a few days on the islands to catch up with people, then the rest of July in Johto.

Another thing: Armin has an Eevee. This Eevee is a huge scaredy-cat. I had plans for said Eevee to become less of a scaredy-cat, but honestly, I have so many pokemon plans (and unexpected things that have come up) that it feels this is falling by the wayside a bit. So I am wondering if perhaps someone would be interested in a pokemon trade or something like it. especially if you got a water pokemon to trade for I'd prefer it if this would happen with someone who he isn't already close with (more new CR!) but willing to chat about this obviously.

Future things to consider: Armin is now the owner of a pod of Lapras which will be used as a breeding project. To keep the bloodlines nice and healthy, he will be searching out other people with Lapras for potential breeding in the future. It'll probably not be in July, but at some point, he'll end up making a post about this. This was Newt's dream so he's going to be taking this very seriously.

Other future things that people might be interested in: Gonna keep having Armin walk the road of pokemon research. I was thinking that perhaps after the scavenger hunt concludes, he will go back to his job (he's taking a vacation!) and then get involved in online courses to prepare for poke-college? A lot of this is still fairly up in the air, but if you have a character that has the same sort of interests, let me know.

Armin has already lost one pokemon to the rockets, so I'm going to pass on that one, but I'm willing and down for all three other things to occur. In fact, Armin's got one pokemon (his Dewpider) who could stand getting a sound beating once to mature him a bit so there is that.

Additionally, recently Armin came into the possession of a pod of Lapras. (Eight at current count). Right now it isn't such a good time with other things going on, but for the future, I'd definitely be willing to have the pod be involved in some sort of Rocket scheme, as long as he can retrieve them in the end. I'm thinking something like an attempt to steal them which gets foiled or something where they are stolen, but then later recovered somehow.

Their cr is great so far and now that Dipper is actually going around and doing stuff again they should hang out at some point.

Also if you want new cr, Newt would be a good character to have a scardy cat Eevee. Since she's totally used to being afraid of everything and would be good at calming them down. She doesn't have a water pokemon she'd be willing to trade at the moment. Shiro and Jean (I think it was him) gifted her a Spheal so he's important to her. But I could have her find one to trade.

Looking for: Ash needs more adult friends! Well, he needs more friends in general, but especially adult. He won't blow up your mobile suit in a duel to the death, promise. It'd be nice if he could find someone he could genuinely open up to, but that would be a very long term project.

Cliffnotes: CUTTIN' RIGHT TO THE CHASE: Heather's a horror kid. An M-rated survival horror protagonist to be precise. Silent Hill isn't for the faint-hearted-- or frankly even for the strong-hearted most of the time. Heather arrived in Johto not too long after going through a smorgasbord of awful in canon, so she's got about as much baggage as you'd expect from that. But a nice long spell in Pokemon-land has done wonders, so where she used to be a rather volatile teen prone to lashing out, she's mellowed quite a bit. Still got the baggage, but she's done enough unpacking that the luggage is lighter and more easily-stowed away than before (when it was just popping open and spilling all over the place at the worst moments-- okay, sorry, done with the baggage metaphor). So now she's a reasonably happy, easygoing young adult. Mostly. Still likes to pick fights and wreck shit sometimes. Can't take the jungle from the tiger.
Looking for: I am very, very flexible when it comes to CR. She makes negative/rivalry CR pretty easy on account of being a brat, but she's also great for surrogate sibling relationships. Come be her little bro/sis who she can alternately protect and annoy the shit out of. Or be her big bro/sis and do the same to her because what goes around comes around. I'm also 100% open to playing out darker stuff if trauma-bonding CR is someone's jam-- admittedly you need to get past a wall and gain like five levels in friendship to unlock the worst of Heather's backstory, but she relates strongly to other people who've been through the wringer.

Heather is both a strong trainer (hard to avoid after being here so long) and 500% ready to skip a battle entirely and just duke it out with fists-- so while an all-out battle slugfest would of course be awesome, ideally for a Rocket to get the better of her I'd like to plot stuff out ahead of time so that she can't just brute-force her way into a win!

WRATH

Cliffnotes: Wrath is an undead baby assassin with an incredibly loose grasp on human morals. And human everything. Has abandonment issues on top of existential issues on top of a total lack of understanding why eating things off the ground isn't acceptable in polite society-- hey, you dropped your hot dog, so by all rights that means it's fair game.
That said, he's not an evil kid. He's fiercely loyal to whoever happens to earn it (by his admittedly subjective standards-- kid is hella hot and cold), and when he's not being a nasty little drama monster, he's pretty happy-go-lucky! He's been enjoying his new life of petty theft and relative freedom much more than the one of murder and terror back home. He doesn't really see himself as a trainer so much as the leader of the little sub-Rocket gang that he and his Pokemon have formed, so his "training" methods are unorthodox at best. In a battle with Wrath, he's just as likely to use Bite on your Pokemon as his Granbull is (albeit much less effectively).

Looking for: Wrath is a random grab-bag of experiences. Negative CR is kosher (he's SUPER GOOD AT THAT), so is positive! He doesn't really get out of Goldenrod City but he can always be counted on to leave badly-spelled nonsequiturs on your text posts. Hit me with anything!

She had ambitions of being a big bad famous thief and villainess like Madam Rouge or Catwoman, but after coming to the pokemon world and working with Team Rocket she's become disillusioned about it. Part of her wants to play the part of a hero now but she still likes being sneaky and a "bad girl" so she's trying to find a comfortable middle ground.
Looking for: Let's be honest: I am utterly lost for ideas. I've been spinning my wheels in this game for months and when we finally had a plot that was starting to come together a few months ago it all just fell apart so I've got nothing. Jinx likes to train every day with her pokemon out of habit, she likes to punk on Team Rocket grunts at night. She likes fashion, food, goth aesthetics but also unicorns and cute pink pokemon. She likes to steal things and jump around showing off her acrobatics. She also has discovered that she likes girls or is at least bisexual but after crushing on Diana for over a year she's willing to keep her options open.

She's also very friendly and supportive and willing to get along with just about anybody. She's the mom friend.
Looking for: Yuuko's pretty new here, so right now I'm open to pretty much anybody. Like I mentioned, she's a very friendly person, so she's willing to get along with most people (even angry teens, really, that's canon). Considering how she's already a mom, CR with kids would definitely be welcome. Fellow breeders would also be welcome, since she just got here so she's still trying to figure out the best way to go about this business.

Cliffnotes: Newt is a kid from the alien franchise so she has seen some things. She is also adapt at surviving, hiding and hiding to survive. She’s just getting to know people and only partly thinks you’re all going to die on her. She’s been through a lot and has not processed a lot of it. She's been here a few months and is from the end of the movie so you know, it's still fresh in her mind.

Her goal is to get all the badges because she feels it will make her safer here, based on things people have told her in the past.

Newt has a fear of eggs and can’t look after them herself and also is afraid of most bug pokemon or anything that resembles any stage of a Xenomorph. She’s alarmingly upfront about a lot of stuff that happened to her, so. Everyone died is a normal response to asking what her home was like. The private, emotional stuff is what she keeps to herself. Everything else is just facts.

Also Newt is seven.

Looking for: Anyone who wants to adopt a child from a horror movie. Severe baggage included. So family like characters. People who will not treat her like a kid are best if you want to get her to like you more.

I’d like at some point for her to actually have to come to terms with her grief and complicated issues on her families death and her seeing two of them as betrayals. So, people getting close enough, so that this can be discussed (someone help her)

She likes learning new things and is slowly starting to realize not everyone is going to die on her. Any kids her age or close to her age to befriend are always welcome as well.

CHARACTER

Canon: Borderlands
Cliffnotes: Krieg is what's known in his canon as a Psycho, one of a countless number of men who have been shoved completely off the deep end in the emotional and psychological trauma department by their various horrible experiences living on Pandora. Krieg, specifically, has Dissociative Identity Disorder. He's loud, violent, sometimes vulgar, definitely unhinged, and has a little voice in his head that tells him NOT to kill people. Which is partially why he's pretty benign in this particular setting.

I have a Non-Cliffnotes rundown of his personality and history (such as it is) in his journal for anyone interested in reading a little more in-depth.

He's been in VR for almost two years now! He's had so much development from dealing both with raising pokemon and befriending normal, non-Pandoran people (as well as a few of the kinder Pandoran ones who have come and gone) that he's a lot different from how he was when I first slapped him in here.

He's currently dealing with some pretty intense grief, as his VR best friend (and also canon...friend...acquaintance? Friend? It's complicated.] was dropped recently, and, as that particular individual is very, very dead in their canon, he knows that she's gone back to being dead and so is now emotionally processing her death a second time, only with extra heaping doses of grief, because they were a lot closer in VR than they ever got in their canon.

So he's been pretty withdrawn since that happened, and has sort of gone off on his own to deal with that by doing lots of pokemon fights and earning the last few Johto gym badges. I'll be directing him into Blackthorn in July for the final badge, and from there...IDEK. On to Kanto, probably.

Looking for: I'm just gonna be That Guy and throw out the all-encompassing "looking for friendship" bit.

I also want to say that I'm always a bit hesitant to tag out to new characters because OOCly I totally get that this guy can be really off-putting, and because of that I don't want to throw him at players I don't know just out of hand. Maybe I'm worried for nothing, buuuuuut I still worry nonetheless.

At some point they need to meet up and share a drink .....and probably wasteland stories. Their wildlife comparison stories are so fun because you have to look stuff up and it really makes you go oh god wtf, how big is that. Also they get to learn everywhere in their country is filled with (some) different and yet terrible monsters. wait till she comes back from far harbour and has stories about giant mutant hermit crabs that use vehicles as shells

Kim is totally up for befriending him, she befriends everyone (unless they're jerks and even then its pretty hard) XD Fallout protagonists, will befriend everyone they meet

Cliffnotes: He may be known back where he's from as the Greatest Mage in Roland, or the Demon King of Sphelliyet more recently, but Ryner is really just a lazy genius mage who would gladly break the laws of physics and sleep for 25 hours a day if anyone would let him. (No one ever lets him.) But then, you'd lack motivation too if the eyes you were born with caused everyone to fear you as a monster. Over the last seven (going on eight in November) years in Pokemon Land, though, he's started to actually realize he can do something useful with his life, and is starting to take on a bit more responsibility as the co-leader of the Collegiate Gym in Ecruteak.
Looking for: I'm up for pretty much anything, especially slow-burn friendship! He takes some effort to warm up to you, but please don't give up on him! (Random shenanigans are totally good too though.)
