Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.
Swarm: Sunday, July 31: Illumise and Volbeat

[The video opens to an excited teenage girl sitting on the ground just outside the lab . Like “this is the best day of my life” levels of excitement. She’s twirling a red headband in her free hand and a skitty chases after it.]
OMG, isn’t this the most adorable pokémon you have ever fucking seen? Is this the universe we created? Because LBR, this is exactly the type of pokémon I would think up. And I don’t remember it from the games or show. Is the goal really to become the very best, like no one ever was? [Guess who loved pokémon as a child. Just be happy she isn’t singing.]
[But now on to less exciting thoughts.]
The mom part was fucking bizarre. She was super nice and packed me a bag and lunch. But then she locked me out of the house. And packed me really impractical clothing. Is that normal maternal behavior?
[A brief pause and frown. The skitty promptly attacks her fingers and she smiles. She seems to be speaking more to herself or the cat than the pokégear.] I hope my friends answer this quickly. [If they’re even here...but that’s a problem] Or at least someone more helpful than the NPC chilling in this town. Not that they aren’t nice. [But like the chess people who surrounded her growing up, they made her feel lonely.] Gastrell the Munificent and I have poké-adventures we need to get up to. [Really excited with a broad smile aimed at Gastrell the Skitty.] This is so much better than the last video game I entered.

[Action for Route 29]
[A teenage girl is running around battling all the trainers, traipsing through the tall grass, even arguing, or attempting to argue, with Joey over the superior of Rattatas. Obviously felines are superior. But she will drop all of that if she sees someone capable of holding an actual conversation. She's followed by a skitty that spends most of its time chasing its own tail and an Espurr that will stare down any stranger.]

Isn't this like the coolest thing ever?

[Holy hopping hares, that's got to be Roxy Lalonde! There's no other person Jane could ever mistake her for. She looks positively amazed and flabbergasted and - and excited, this is wonderful!!!]

Roxy, I'm here! I'm here, too! Oh my God, I can't believe it!!

[Holy shit, it's Jane. Her bestie is here and that just make things so much better.]
By here, do you mean here like here in this town? [Because the only thing better than talking to Jane would be to hug her and hang out in person.] Is everyone else with you?

- Uh. Well. Um...

[She grimaces, glancing away.]

I...am actually not "here here", as you put it, because I'm assuming you're in a town called New Bark, right? I was there for a little while, but I'm pretty far away right now - oh!

[All at once, Jane's expression brightens.]

But, I can get close to where you are! And if I bring someone else with me, they can get us to where we all are - it's not everybody, but Dirk is here with his teen Bro, and my teen Poppop and Jake's teen Grandma are here as well! We all have Pokemon, too!

[Roxy frowns briefly because what about Rose, Jake, and the trolls, but the smile returned quickly. So many of her friends were here. She focused on that.]
Tell me where I need to go and what I need do. I can't wait to see you all again. And tell me everything about your pokémon. Are they new ones too?
[Another thought occurred to her.] What do you mean you were here? I just saw you.

Okay! So, there's one road out of town, that's Route 29. It takes about three days to travel through until you hit the next city, which is called Cherrygrove. I can be in Cherrygrove in the blink of an eye, more or less, and I can backtrack on the route until we meet up. Roxy, while you're on the road, it's very important you not eat the berries you find, okay? They're for Pokemon only. If we eat them, they'll make us sick. [She makes a face.] Trust me on that one.

[As for her Pokemon? There's this cute pink thing in the background, eyes bleary with sleep. Looks like someone just woke up. Jane turns when she hears the creature's footsteps, smiling.]

Oh, yes! I assume she's new. Roxy, this is Dinah - she's something called an Audino.

[As for that last question...Jane tries not to frown. She certainly hadn't just seen Roxy at all - not since they went down that candy-coated acid trip, anyway. The rumbling had happened on the moons, and they had gone God Tier, and...well, that's an explanation for another day.]

I've actually been here for a few weeks. I don't understand it very well, but time is strange here. Folks show up from just about whenever.

[Of course Jane would know that first hand. Why wouldn’t she try random berries?] Do I wanna know that story?

Aww, she’s adorable. Audino is def new. I literally caught them all in the game. [And could probably still name them all.]

So...time shenanigans. Easier just not to ask.

Dinah - my Audino, she is named Dinah - shoved one of the apparently less bad ones in my mouth while I was making my way to the next town because I was stretching my provisions thinly. I'm pretty darn sure she did it out of concern, but it was like eating a candle and I absolutely do not recommend it.

[She just wants to look out for her BFFsie is all.]

I guess it's easier. I don't know, it's definitely weird, but I'd like to make some sense of it. Later, though - I should get ready to come and see you! I know someone over here HAS to have a bird Pokemon we can fly back on...

Can't say I've ever tried wax, but I doubt its nutritional value. So don't spread rations to thinly. I think I can handle that.

But why would we need a pokémon to fl- [She thinks about it and concentrates on the void. She pulls for something simple, a pumpkin, and gets nothing. It might be a fluke, but...] Shit, we don't have our powers here, do we?

That's lame. I had finally figured the damn things out. Whatever, I can totally handle anything this world throws at me, especially with my bestie.

[Like she ever got a chance to do that before getting mindjacked.]

Hoo hoo! It's really not so bad, once you get the hang of things. Why, I'm starting to, and it's already better! I, ah, happen to quite like our new little friends.

[Addressing the important issues, here. Yup. Frisk will get to the rest of that stuff in a second here, honest.]

[What are you talking about? That clearly is the most important part.]
Yep. It was...[Awful. Brutal. Everyone died multiple times. Not thinking about that now because they won and her friends had survived.] I got to meet all my friends in person, but otherwise it wasn't as much fun as this seems.

But...how's that work? Games aren't in real life, they're on screens an' stuff.

[Right? Frisk is like...90% sure on this.]

Um, it's good you got to see alla your friends, though!

It's complicated. The game started out on the computer and then when we entered it, it was its own world and we were part of it. [And technically they had been created to play the game by the game, but whatever.] And yeah, meeting all my friends was the best.

I played Pokémon on a screen too, but I'm definitely seem to be living it now.

So it...was a magic door, sort of?

[That's at least something Frisk can wrap their head around.]

Um, well it's been really fun for me! I made bunches of friends, an' some of 'em even wanted t' stay an' travel with me! Um, here, lemme show you--

[The camera goes a bit crazy for a moment, and there's the sound of a few things knocking around before a very amused little Turtwig comes into view.]

Yeah, pretty much. [That's an easy way to look at it, and magic is totally awesome.]

It sounds fun and Hammer is super cute. [So is this kid. They're the prefect age for a pokemon adventure. Of course, Roxy's pretty sure anyone is the right age for that.] Is he a baby? I can't wait to find more friends.

Oh, no, this place is pretty weird, but it's not actually a game. You can tell by the way stuff's not pixie-ated.

It is pretty cool though!

It can still totally be a video game. Some video games have really great graphics. [Clearly someone does not understand the basics of reality altering video games. Roxy honestly thinks that adorably naive. She knows science and stuff.] How else do you explain "Mom" or the townspeople just repeating shit?

[ Holy fuck balls. It's Roxy. Roxy on the network like a bright beacon of sunshine. A world without her just didn't seem right. It didn't. Not to insult his present company, but there's something lacking without her. She's a constant in his life. Thank the omnipresent cat or whatever the fuck is the equivalent of the religious figure here. Birds? It doesn't matter. ]

[Dirk. No matter how weird things are between them, fucking trickster mode, Roxy can't imagine life without the one person who has always been there. She can't stop smiling.]
