ALSO, AS PROMPTS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Last month's mini-events!
Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.
Swarm: Sunday, July 31: Illumise and Volbeat

Action
What about you?
[Krieg was a relative unknown to her. The rest of the Vault Hunters were easy to find information on, but this hulking man was an enigma. What he did before was a mystery, which made the question of where he would go all the more interesting.
Action
So far...
...the world is in better focus than he can ever remember.
He glances away from her again, back to the frolicking Torchic, who happens to look over at him at just that moment and meet his gaze. It peeps and whistles something unintelligible at its new companion, and comes waddling over to Krieg, and then climbs straight up his arm to his shoulder. He doesn't even twitch as the small talons dig into his flesh, though they prick and leave tiny red tracks in their wake. Once it reaches the strap of his harness, it fluffs up and settles down, an round, soft creature completely at odds with the hard, unstable monster it's adopted.
He flicks his gaze back to Angel, blinks again, and then mirrors her shrug.]
I'll live.
action [[this is really short and I apologize]]
I am glad to hear it, Krieg. It wouldn't do if I lost a friend.
action [[no worries! I apologize for all the novels /o\]]
Friend...
He'd had friends, once, before...Before. He's not sure about after. Comrades and allies, heck yes, he'd found an astonishing number of those, but...
But.
At the end of the day, as far as he knows, that's all they were. And that's totally understandable, and perfectly alright, but...
But.
[He'd been mad when Angel had died. Really mad. Despite the death-grip Handsome Jack had had on her, metaphorical fingers around her metaphorical throat, she had done her damndest to defy him, to help them survive, even when she was forced to work against them. And in the end, it had killed her. She had wanted it, of course, asked them to do it, but she hadn't deserved it. She'd deserved so much better than to be poisoned by her own father, manipulated and used as a tool for his own selfish ends. Death had been her only means of escape.
No one deserved that.
Least of all her.]
...Friend?
[[novels are good! I'm good with them most of the time. don't apologize! :)]]
[Stop thinking about him like that , she chides herself. With all her time with Jack, with the way he referred to the psychos of Pandora and especially of the large vault hunting psycho in her company, she knows she's picked up on some negative views. It's far too easy to fall into the habit of calling him a monster. She hadn't even caught herself doing so until just now, after all. But she can see from the way the small creature fearlessly clambers over him that he's nothing to fear.]
[Besides, she knows exactly who the real monster is, and it's not the man in front of her.]
Friend. [How could he not be? He'd "saved" her, coming to her aid even though she'd proven that she couldn't be trusted. It should have been her first clue that he was no monster. ]
[[♥♥♥]]
Except...maybe...
Maybe it no longer has to.
For a little bit, anyway.
The corners of his mouth twitch, under his mask, as an unfamiliar warmth fills his heart, twisting it...not painfully, but strongly. It does hurt, a little, but he thinks maybe he could get used to it.
It feels strange to smile, to really smile, underneath the mask. He does a lot of unseen teeth-baring and grimacing, of course, and plenty of yelling, but none of those feel quite the same as what he's doing now. Maybe she can see it in his eye; she's close enough. It's possible.
He stirs for the first time since sitting down, sitting up straight and leaning forward just a bit to hold out a hand.]
Are you ready to flay some scalps?
[...Aaaaand back to the nonsensical gibberish as usual. At least he got a few proper words out.]
Action
[She's even at ease enough that she does't flinch quite so dramatically when he bursts out. Her heart still races a little at the very noise, and she swears her ears begin to ring, but she isn't scared of him.]
[He's no monster, she reminds herself. He's a hero.]
[And a silly one at that.]
Salt all the wounds! [She feels ridiculous, yelling the way she is, but even still she can't stop smiling. It's the first time she's raised her voice, at least in a playful manner. She's heard her own bloodcurdling screams enough for her own lifetime.]
[It's time to have a little fun.]
Action
Nahahaha! You can have the first slice!
[It's time for a lot of fun, Angel, come on, now!]
Action
I've missed you. [She's missed all of the Vault Hunters, even if, temporally, it hasn't been all that long. Dying seemed but a heartbeat ago, but seeing her friends smiling... that felt like a lifetime ago.]
