ALSO, AS PROMPTS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Last month's mini-events!

Effect: Friday, July 8: Flower Gift - All day, despite the season, flowers drift down from the sky. They’re harmless, beautiful, and smell lovely, but if trainers aren’t careful, they might end up trudging through rosedrifts up to their knees before long.
Swarm: Tuesday, July 12: Spinda
Effect: Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17: Worry Seed - Affected characters won’t be able to get any sleep. Does that make your character cranky? Does it damage their brain-to-mouth filter? The effects can last as little or as long as you’d like over this weekend.
Effect/Swarm Double Duty: Friday, July 22: Surf - Large waves appear in all bodies of water, including things like bathtubs and your Sawsbucks drinks (it’s just bean water, you know). Be careful on the ocean, but also, hang ten, dudes! The waves won’t destroy anything, but trainers are going to get wet on this ride. Also, oh god, small jellyfish Pokemon (Tentacool, Frillish, Inkay) happen to be swarming randomly in these bodies of water. GANBATTE, VICTORY ROAD.
Effect: Friday, July 29: Haze - The forecast is misty inside and out on this oddly cool July day. Affected trainers will find it difficult to remember things, whether those happened long ago or just five minutes past. The memories aren’t gone, of course, it’s just…foggy.
Swarm: Sunday, July 31: Illumise and Volbeat

[AREN'T THERE SUPPOSED TO BE LIFE GUARDS??? HUMANS ARE SO FRAGILE!!]

[Rumbling loudly in concern (not that the average passerby could probably tell-- Feraligatr growls all kind of sound aggressive by default), the great beast stands upright in the shallows, towering upwards. He's no Wailord, but he's certainly too big to comfortably fit through most doors, so, PRETTY IMPOSING.]

[At least until the raging knifebird comes at him.]

[The giant alligator's scarlet eyes widen and he lifts his enormous hands, seemingly in surrender.]

[SORRY KNIFEBIRD HE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE YOUR HUMAN WAS NOT DRAGGED AWAY BY THE TIDE!!!]</sub>

[oh god, now it's growling. It's going to eat him and he has no weapons and no powers and dammit, if this thing takes off his hand, there will be no getting it back this time. WHY IS SAND SO HARD TO MOVE IN.

Skarmory, for what it's worth, seems to understand the gesture, though she keeps her eyes trained on the other Pokémon. She's watching you, feraligatr. She turns her body back to Eren, but keeps one eye trained behind her.

Then she proceeds to fluff out her belly feathers and sit on Eren's head, as if it were a very large egg. She attempts to tuck his legs and arms underneath her. All while staring, unblinking, at Godzilla.

Eren spits out sand and struggles underneath her]

WHY! WHY DO YOU DO THIS. GET OFF!!

<sub>[The Feraligatr stares right back, seemingly paralyzed by the sight of a horrifying knife ostrich making an entire human being disappear underneath them. He's watched Sunny do the same thing to their trainer, but Sunny is a big soft Togekiss... this seems dangerous...!!!]

[Gurbling in concern, he wrings his giant hands. This seems like a situation that should be intervened in! But that bird looks ready to take off fingers. Or claws.]

[FORTUNATELY, they are all spared further deliberation by the timely arrival of the Feraligatr's trainer. Who is literally walking up to the beach late with Sawsbucks (tm).]</sub>

... Zilla? What the heck is going o-- ... holy shit, is that a person under there??

[greatrage]

[Look, a Skarmory isn't ALL sharp edges. Sure, their wings and tail and beak and claws are all sharp as razors, and their metallic feathers and thick skin provide armor... but she is a momma bird, and momma bird has a bunch of soft downy feathers on her underside for incubating eggs.

And angry children.

She will absolutely take your digits if you come close. And or eyeballs.

Eren, meanwhile, couldn't be happier to hear another human being. He manages to get an arm free and waves it wildly]

HELP! THERE'S A MONSTER AND ALSO THERE IS A BIRD ON TOP OF ME.

[Skarmory pecks at his arm. Get back into safety, arm!!]

<sub>[Godzilla just worries a lot, ok]

[He looks to his trainer and gestures helplessly as the muffled shouting floats out from underneath the bird, and Heather... cautiously steps forward.]</sub>

UH, you don't need to... worry about the monster, but can you-- can you BREATH under there? Hey, stop it!

_{[She's not dumb enough to get too close to the Skarmory, but she does flap an arm at her when she pecks at her captive.]}

You're gonna suffocate him! ... Or something!

[greatrage]

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S RIGHT THERE IT'S HUGE AND HAS LOTS OF TEETH!!

[ YEAH! YEAH! MONSTER. Skarmory snaps at Heather, but it's just a warning. She then pointedly looks at Godzilla and hisses, then looks back at Heather. If he backs far away, she MIGHT let Eren take a breath.

Which, he can clearly do, with all the yelling he's doing]

Him? Oh, he won't-- he won't hurt you.

_{[Buuuuuut she can see the problem here.]}

... Zilla, I'm gonna-- ... I'm gonna put you back in your ball, okay?

I think you're scaring the newbies.

<sub>[Eyes widening, the Feraligatr presses his enormous reptilian claws to his mouth. 8( OH NO.]

[There's an electrical noise and a large flash of light as he promptly DISAPPEARS, sucked into the tiny red-and-white capsule in the girl's hand.]</sub>

[Wow he is just so cute and precious and harmless. Too bad Skarmory is 500% mom and is not having any of what she strongly suspects is a charade. When Zilla goes back to his ball, she seems satisfied that the danger is passed, and she stands up, letting Eren up.

The boy takes a big gasp of air that is tainted with neither steely bird dander or beach sand. He sits up and shoots a glare at Skarmory, who starts grooming his hair with her beak]

Hey, it's gone.... that thing was it a... a pokémon?

Uh, yeah, he's my Pokemon. His name's Godzilla and I think he thought your bird was trying to murder you.

Speaking of which, are you okay?

... oh. [Eren seems a little flabbergasted. He's so BIG... and frightening.] ... I'm still not used to all these different kinds of animals. It's hard to tell what's dangerous and what isn't. And uh... I'm fine. [he attempts to shoo Skarmory away, but she picks at his hair more] She's not as heavy as the gear I'm used to carrying around.
