YOU THERE! PERSON WHO LOOKS LIKE THEY PROBABLY HAVE A LOT OF THIS WORLD'S MONEY! [He yells, dramatically pointing at your character.]

The law of this land dictates that when we make even a split second of eye contact, we force our pets to fight until one of them is exhausted. Or dead. I really don't know which, because I gave up on reading the manual past the first page.

Anyway, send your own pet out so that Tad Cooper and I can utterly destroy you two and take your "pokedollars."

[Normally he'd be all over the opportunity to win a battle, but Gal's kind of in a hurry at the moment so as it is he barely spares the guy a glance as he raises one indifferent hand in his direction, hurrying on his way.]

[Buuut it doesn't take much longer to realize that the voice is annoyingly familiar, and he turns back around real damn quick.]

Wait. [you've gotta be fuckin kidding him.] Richard?

Oh- Galavant?! You're here too?

[He immediately runs over to his dear Gal-Pal, grin on his face.]

What a funny coincidence! To think I'd run into my BFF here! Of all people!

Where were you going in such a hurry?

You've got to be kidding me. [It's mostly spoken under his breath-- he was sort of hoping he was hallucinating but nope! His luck really is that awful!] Look, it doesn't matter.

How long have you even been here? What have you--

[He finally. Actually thinks about what Richard had been saying in the first place.]

Wait, there's a manual?

Oh, maybe a week and a half? How about you?

[He rolls his eyes at that last question, throwing an arm over Gal's shoulder and giving him a little boop on the nose.]

Oh, don't be silly, Gal, of course there's a manual! Why wouldn't there be? It's just common knowledge that they give you a one whenever you get sucked into weird new worlds!

A week and a half. And you're still alive. [While left to his own devices??? Honestly, Gal's kind of impressed.] I haven't been here much longer.

[He makes a face when Richard sidles up to him, though, and very quickly reaches the conclusion that he was having a grand old time adventuring on his own before this and he'd very much like to get back to that.]

But, from the look of things we both seem to be doing perfectly fine on our own. I mean, look at you, already reading manuals! [He lifts Richard's arm off his shoulders and gives him a half-hearted pat on the shoulder.] So! I'll just be off.

[He starts powerwalking away, waving curtly over his back as he does. Bye!] Nice seeing you, Richard. Good luck.

Of course I'm alive! Do you really think I'd die so easily? I mean, I did come close to death a few times, I think. Ate some yummy looking berry and, can you believe it, it made my tongue swell up! It was horrible. Promise me you won't eat berries like that ever--

[Ah- there he goes.]

Oh, come on! We just met up! Why can't we travel together for a while?

[He's running after him!!! And once he catches up, he tries to match Gal's speed and gives him a little friendly shoulder nudge.]

We are best friends, after all!

And, plus, you still have to battle me!

[He sighs. It's like second nature to tune out Richard at this point-- a talent honed by several weeks of being stuck on the boat with him-- but it's significantly harder to ignore him when he's right over your shoulder. Or nudging it, as the case would be.]

First of all, we are not best friends, and secondly I think we've done more than enough travelling together already.

And. Besides. [He is. Visibly struggling to admit this. Like it's a blow to his pride.] Galavant Junior isn't feeling up for another battle at the moment. Consider yourself lucky because he would have demolished you.

Of course we are! Why are you so in denial?

...Did you just say Galavant Junior?

[and now that's going to cause him to have a giggle fit]

You seriously named your pet that? For realsies?

[Galavant Junior is not a PET he is a HIGHLY CAPABLE WARRIOR and Gal will NOT stand for any of this. Not without getting incredibly defensive, that is.]

Of course I did! It’s a great name!

[He fumes for a couple of seconds while Richard giggles before crossing his arms.]

Yeah, well, what’d you name yours? Hm? If you’re so good at thinking up names?

His name's Tad Cooper. Which is a far better name.

[It’s customary to name children after great heroes and Gal is the greatest hero he knows!!!]

Tad Cooper? You must be joking. That’s the stupidest name I’ve ever heard.

[Richard chuckles a bit, shaking his head.].

Oh, you did not just say that.

I did, and I’ll say it again.

[He stops to step right up to Richard, leaning in to enunciate each word pointedly.]

Tad. Cooper. Is a stupid name.

[Egon pauses in writing down the latest parts of his research into Pokémon breeding. He casts a wayward glance towards this man suddenly yelling at him and raises an eyebrow--just enough to indicate that he's heard him.

And then he just turns and walks faster in the other direction.]

[Congrats you just pointed at a 6 year old. Who gasps.]

Oh wow, really? I didn't know I had a lot of money!

[There is also a Froakie under his arm. Kinda just resigned to this life.]

Do you have a frog too? That's a really cool name!

Frog? Pssshhh, no way! I have something waaaaaaay cooler than a mere frog.

[Frogs are for princes, not kings. And Richard is a king.]

And yes, I know it is! It's the best possible name for any dragon!
