Cliffnotes: Local college grad went to space to study ice, got abducted, became a dorito-shaped walking PTSD machine, came back to Earth, met and adopted a bunch of teenagers and then became the literal head of the universe's last defense against evil space furries. Also there was a lot of shit with space gladiators and science experiments. His life was pretty terrible, to be honest.
Looking for: He has an alarming tendency to adopt people. Or just fork out advice, to try and help wherever he goes. He's working on collecting the Gym Badges, and may be headed out soon to continue collecting. I'm open to friendships and rivalries both! He's dating the current curator of the observatory, wrangling teenagers and wondering what he should do with the rest of his time here.
He's super into space, and currently living in the Sevii Islands. Stargazing is definitely a hobby of his. Do you need mentoring? Advice? Or a big buff dorito puff to complain at? It's him, your new dad.
He can't cook to save his life, though. Seriously.

Giant transforming ninja robot who was raised in secret and isolation with his prototype, and best friend in the world. Lost his friend in a horrible submarine accident, and never really got over it. Very closed-off about himself despite being a friendly and outgoing personality. Died once, while fighting aliens all by himself, since he's the only member of the robot police force who can't combine with the others.
He also has a kickass 90's power-sax theme song.
Looking for:
CURRENTLY, Shadowmaru is bumming around Olivine, trying to start a career as either a police officer or a Staryutube Star. His channel is "DarkWolfFashion" because he has a weird fixation on wolves, and shows off how to have "style" -- usually involving too much glitter. He's got a Growlithe, a Yamask and a Frogadier... and loves dogs. Dogs and birds. He really needs more to do with his day, tbh. So I'm up for anything with him. Hopefully to get him some more pokemon as time goes by -- like a Venipede. Gotta rock that ninja poison aesthetic.

Cliffnotes: Once upon a time there was a dumbass teenage delinquent who didn't give a shit about any damn thing.
He's the main hero of the story and he dies the first episode because, oops, turns out he does give a damn about things and he saved a little boy from getting hit by a car.
What does any of this have to do with Botan, well, Yusuke wasn't supposed to die and he threw Spirit World for a loop with his antics, so she--your local friendly psychopomp--enters the picture to look after and guide him. Yes, I said psychopomp, as in guide to the afterlife, as in Grim Reaper (called bullshit by Yusuke who says "like how grim can ya be when you say BINGO?") yes she is an energetic adorable anime gal that wears pink and takes you to the afterlife. The sum of Botan is she's a people person, and she takes care of people, that's her first instinct in all things and life as a human in Johto has been Weird but strangely gratifying.
I mean she opened up her own bakery and doesn't even have to tell people she's actually like 3 centuries old because it doesn't matter, Pokemon world is awesome, all she has to worry about is being your friend and possibly your mom friend because she's just Like That. Also ghosts, ghosts everywhere.
Looking for: Botan's very versatile! If she's not meddling in other peoples' business by taking care of them, she'll end up doing that sooner or later anyway. So, friendship is good, enemies? Sure why not but you'd have to be someone legitimately Awful for her to hate or consider an enemy (like say Handsome Jack) and she's more lowkey about her hate.

Cliffnotes: Matt's currently the head of the Sevii Observatory, and is wanting to turn it into more of a research center for extraterrestrial pokemon, but at the moment, he doesn't have either the funding or the time. He might do a fundraiser sometime soon.
Otherwise, while being an excellent Professor, he's a terrible Trainer. Most of his 'team' are more his friends, and they're 75% ice type. Oops. He probably should work on that. He's also half-dadmom and half brother to the Attack on Voltron House. Really, he needs to bond more with the Attack side of the house.

Name Armin Arlert;
Canon: Attack on Titan
Cliffnotes: In the world of Attack on Titan, all humans live behind three huge walls. Outside of the walls are titans, giant mindless man-eating monsters. You are not allowed to go outside the walls. You are not allowed to talk about going outside the walls. You are not allowed to possess anything pertaining to knowledge related to what's outside the walls. This all on pain of death. In this world, even as a child, Armin was a heretic and a dreamer who wanted to go outside the walls, explore the world, and own a book with knowledge about the world.
Then, when he was 10, Titans broke through the outer wall. Lots of people died, land was lost. Armin lost his home and grandfather, but he still had his two best friends. At 12, along with his friends, he joined the army. He trained for three years to barely pass (he's got a big brain but not much in the physical department), immediately got thrown into a massacre the next day (which he thought his way out of), learned his best friend can turn into a Titan, had a short month of pseudo-rest, before ending up in a second massacre where he learned that some of his fellow soldiers were traitors.
Aaaand, then he came here.
Armin has been here for going on two and a half years. He grew (an inch), turned eighteen (he still looks about sixteen at best), and took to pokemon training like a duck to water. Currently, he's for 15 badges, lives on the Sevii Islands, and most of his interests are related to research, travelling, and the Lapras pod he inherited from Newt Scamander. Overall, he is an inquisitive kid (the sort you'd use the word precocious for). He wants to know how things work and why, though he is polite about it. He's prone to overthinking and the type to occasionally get stuck because he is thinking too much and not doing. He's not the best social butterfly, though he's always willing to help someone who is genuine about it. His world shaped him, and he can be startlingly pragmatic and decisive about some really terrible subjects. His world is also the ye olden times sort of place, so he is not always familiar with all the new haps or current ways of thinking about things. Also, one of those traitors is here now, so he's actually been keeping secrets from his friends and close CR, having entered in a deal with her where she gives him true information about their world in exchange for him keeping her identity a secret.
Looking for: Well, he'll talk to just about anyone once. But a few things he's extra interested in
✓ Anyone who can teach him anything. He's always angling for more knowledge. Tell him about different cultures! Or the stars! Or science! Or animals from your world! Magic! Anything!
✓ Anyone familiar with animal care and breeding (especially endangered species)
✓ Slightly more future-y, but anyone familiar with making prosthetics (for animals, you see, he's got a Lapras who needs a new set of fins)
✓ Anyone into talking about ~*~ strategies ~*~ and moral dilemmas and ethical debates. Especially if there happens to be disagreement there.
✓ I'll be putting up a post in the next week or so which is basically an egg post about breeding very battle-focused water pokemon. (of course your newly hatched pokemon needs to hatch with hydro pump)
Also, it's a new year, a very fresh 2019. I try not to be too firm on my goals, but I've got a few things that I think would be cool to accomplish this year, so lemme know if this is anything you are interested in as well.
✓ Obtaining his last badge, then challenging the Elite Four in spring (mainly so he can see the nature there, to be honest)
✓ Start releasing the first few of his bred Lapras into the wild & properly develop his psychic connection to these majestic creatures
✓ Absolutely more water pokemon. All the water pokemon. I have at least two planned for to get when he gets to the plateau.
✓ Breeding stuff. Whether it is breeding pokemon for people on request, or teaming up with other breeders to get some really interesting egg moves going on.
✓ Exploring more of the places on the map Nephelis gave him.
✓ A boat.

Cliffnotes: Local Man Learns How To Catch Ghosts, Creates A Business With His Partners Around This Concept. Egon always acts incredibly serious and his expression almost never is anything except stoic. That doesn't mean he has no emotions--he just has difficulty expressing them. (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7deggzG9s8c. yes i know this is real ghostbusters but it works) It's always a sight to see someone speaking in a monotone while going on about the intricacies of fungus or the feeding habits of giant isopods. Spengler is a certified genius, which means that...he doesn't...always act with any self preservation if it means he might gain more knowledge from something.
This is the guy who almost drilled a hole in his own head if Venkman hadn't stopped him. God help him.
Looking for: I'm relatively new so I'm up for almost anything! Spengler is more than willing to engage in anything regarding scientific inquiries or mechanical engineering, or if you wanna tell him about cool ghosts, that's good too!
Since Egon is a breeder, I'm particularly looking for eggs he can obtain and observe so that he can write whatever notes he can on the intricate process of pokemon breeding. So, if your character has any eggs they wanna give away, feel free to hit me up!

Canon: The Real Ghostbusters
Cliffnotes: The Real Ghostbusters is, for lack of a better term, a "Canon AU" of the Ghostbusters movies. Both because in the cartoon they talk about how the movie version is a fictionalized adaptation of their adventures and there's a recent comic series that addresses the movie universe and The Real Ghostbusters as two parallel dimensions. It's pretty similar to the movie universe, except the Ghostbusters are still highly successful after the first movie and they go on adventures saving the world from destruction and also watch one of their partners play baseball to save another's soul. And also Ray ends up adopting the Worst Character aka Slimer
Anyway, Ray here is the team engineer and the team "way too excited about dangerous shit happening at all times". Like, to the point he expresses excitement over being in a world ending scenario. He's the one who builds all the equipment and is technically the "smartest" one behind Egon, but he also plays with action figures, watches cartoons, and sleeps with a plush.
Let me tell you, he loves his work but being able to study/befriend ghosts and supernatural beings with a much lower chance of them trying to kill him is like heaven to Ray right now.
Really Ray is just an excitable puppy who managed to get a hold of a PhD and I'm sticking to that description forever.
Looking for: I'm up for anything! Ray's particularly interested in those who are also well informed about the supernatural, but honestly he'd be happy to talk to people who aren't as well informed! (he might end up infodumping about ghosts anyway, just a warning)
Ray is also becoming obsessed with collecting every cool Pokemon he finds so if your character's a breeder he would love to buy some eggs to he can parent them! And he's also idly interested in taking on gyms since there are some perks in winning them so he's also up for talk about good training strategies!

As Blank said, RGB is essentially a canon AU of the Ghostbusters movies, except technically the Ghostbusters movies are also a canon AU within the RGB universe, except in the COMICS the movie is the "prime" universe and the RGB cartoon is an alternate dimension split off from that, and none of this matters because what really matters is that Venkman has the voice of Garfield and was born and raised on a carny. [technically, that's from the movie novelization, but its fair game to take whatever the hell I like from the movies and slap that onto RGB Venkman, so. Carny baby.]
He's the son of a conman, has the air of a gameshow host, and acts like a DND character with -3 Intel but +3 Charisma who tries to bluff, blackmail, and "seduce" his way through life.
... Also he captures ghosts I guess?
Right now, he's busy making his way to Saffron City so he can inevitably meet back up with his partners, but once he gets there and realizes his partners are still chilling around Violet City he'll be making a couple sliiight detours... You know, like an idiot.
Looking for: Honestly I'm good with anything! I'd especially welcome that sweet negative CR at some point, since, well. Venkman can get pretty grating. And a lot of people want to punch him- for good reason. Hell, half his pokemon want to punch him at this point.
Also, he is a breeder, so new eggs and Pokemon to work with would be stellar, even though he is in no way equipped to raise a baby.

Cliffnotes: Fortunately, he already has a song written about him! But, essentially, he's a walking stereotype of your standard medieval hero-- so basically he's a narcissistic jerk desperate to repress his emotions and prove he's The Best. His canonpoint is about halfway through the series, though, so he's slowly developing to... care about people... although he only really has two friends to speak of. He's kind of a dumbass, and actually pretty bad at... most things, but he tries (sometimes) and that's what counts.
In-game, he hasn't bothered to read the manual yet and is dead-set on training his 1 (one) Bidoof to be as kickass as he possibly can. He's currently on the ferry to Kanto with his frienemy, Richard, and he's probably going to make the horrible mistake of trying to wield a Honedge. As one does.
Looking for: He's still brand new here, so... anything, really! I'm more than game for negative CR (even in-canon people generally can't stand him), and of course positive CR of any sort is cool too.

She's a very excitable and chatty person, and kind of a huge (science) nerd. Her favorite kind of science is the ones where you can blow shit up. Or set things on fire. Or both! Both is good.
In-game she hasn't done a whole lot so far for only just getting here, but she's immediately smitten with her Big Buddy Turtonator. She just doesn't know he has an explodey shell yet. That's something she should find out.

Cliffnotes: Former android, only recently learned how to feel mere days before he arrived to pokemon world so emotions are still pretty wild to him. Being treated as an equal is a nice change for him, because androids don't actually have rights or anything where he's from and are only just starting to fight for their freedom. In VR he's working on his Gym badges and learning how to cook, god help us all. He's currently in Goldenrod, and will be for a couple of months, and he just got a house there too.

Canon: Fallout: New Vegas
Cliffnotes: Ex-sniper from a post-apocalyptic wasteland with one hell of a Past. Pretty gruff and doesn't talk too much. Strongly believes in fate, and thinks it's out to get him. Currently in Goldenrod with his new girlfriend Lust, and his ever-cheerful Drapion, Pointy. He's not going for any Gym badges but he takes training his pokemon pretty seriously anyway, because it's fun to do and his pokemon seem to enjoy it as much as him. He comes with several content warnings which are covered in his permissions, but the main and most relevant one is alcohol abuse.
Looking for: Again, friends are good! Rivalries are a little harder with Boone because he tends to just ignore people he doesn't like. A drinking buddy or two would be great, because he opens up more when he's been drinking.

Kind of hot headed and very outgoing, Korra's been settling into making a life for herself finally after being here years. She splits most of her time between the islands and Goldenrod. Very into physical pursuits and martial arts.
Looking for: Korra needs friends, mostly! She's currently in Goldenrod and going to be there for a bit - no real solid plans for what she's up to, she's there mainly to visit and be close to Botan. Cliffnotes: Marco is a friendly, generally sweet but with side of mischief teenager. He comes from a canon where teenagers are regularly trained, recruited and sent to battle giant man-eating monsters called Titans, and he actually dies in canon - which he's aware of here. So he's been throwing himself into training Pokemon like a madman and living his best life, but not being too reckless about it.
Looking for: Friends! If you want to strike up a rivalry, we can definitely work that out. Marco's starter, Viola, also wants to be in contests, so if you have experience with that or pokemon who also want to do that, I'm SUPER into setting that up.

She also really loves figure skating and used to compete herself, and is currently working at the ice rink in Mahogany Town while looking after her small herd of Pokemon on the side as best she can.

Cliffnotes: Somehow, probably through the power of friendship, Krieg has become the resident weird Meat Uncle to a large group of kids and teens. He's not sure how this happened but he loves all of his nieces and nephews and would commit violent murder for any of them.
He's taken up residence in the Sevii Islands for the winter because it's not cold enough there to force him to wear a sweater. HOWEVER, since his bestest murder buddy Gaige has recently returned, he will actually bust out the cold weather gear in order to adventure with her. And he got a number of super stylin' sweaters for Christmas this year, so he's really all set.

7. Rolling Rock Towers. There's Geodude and Gravelers all over Route 45, but in the ones in one particular valley have formed an interesting tradition. Tall stacks of stones can be found everywhere-- each Geodude has their own, and will add a new rock to the stack every time they gain a level. When one of them finally evolves to a Graveler, all the rest will gather to watch as they climb to a high point and then roll downwards as hard as possible to send their tower toppling!

Personality: If you’ve ever heard the term “genki,” (Japanese for “good health” or “energetic,” denoting a sunny personality) that’s basically Kazuki in a nutshell. He’s got pep in his step. We’re not talking simple cheerfulness here… more like he could power a small city with his sheer enthusiasm for everything. He doesn’t do anything small; every part of him is loud and bright and exuberant. He almost always has a smile on his face, he loves being around people, and he enjoys life in an almost childlike fashion. Even the most simple things, like a sunny day, a gathering with friends, playing sports, or nailing a performance can make him very happy.
He's also very kind. When he sees people in trouble, he wants to help. He doesn't like to see people hurting or sad. When he does get upset or depressed, he’s really obvious about. It doesn’t take a master of subtlety to understand what Kazuki is feeling. His heart is 100% exposed and on his sleeve. He slows down considerably, he stops smiling, spaces out, and hems and haws and sighs. But sometimes it takes time, or a nudge from someone close to him, for him to realize he's acting that way at all. But he rarely gets depressed for his own sake. Most of the time, he can take a hard time and still be perfectly fine. When he is sad, it's usually because he’s worried for someone else. Or if he’s having romantic issues, which he is clueless about in general.
Still, it's rare for him to be down. We're talking like, a 90%-10% split here, 90 being happy and 10 being sad. He's normally super cheerful nearly all the time, I promise. He's not a very complicated character at all. I don't even think he's ever been really angry in canon, and there definitely isn't an ounce of hate in his heart. More than anything, he wants the people around him and the ones he cares about to be happy. He just wants to feel good and have a good time, and share music with anyone who will listen! Kazuki is a great person to go to if you’re feeling down because it’s nearly impossible to be upset around his completely genuine cheerfulness.
What he does in VR: Kazuki is technically a breeder, but despite being in VR for more than a year, he hasn't had a single clutch of eggs. He's definitely more interested in performances and contests than breeding his Pokemon-- he doesn't feel right making his Pokemon breed for any reason unless they personally want to.
His team is almost entirely music related because that is his one true love. His major is the trumpet, and he has his instrument on him nearly 24/7. He found a home for his Pokemon and himself near Lavender Town where he works at a recording studio. He also wants to begin working on his teaching certification soon, so he can work towards his ultimate goal-- being a music teacher!
Looking for: Kazuki can get along with practically anybody. He tries to find the best in every person, and he is utterly sincere about it, so it's hard to refute him. You'd have to be really, totally evil for him to avoid you entirely. But feel free to antagonize him if you want! Also, he's a hopeless romantic, so I've always wanted to do shipping with him. He's publicly bi, so either gender is fine with him!

I love the casual, alcohol-based friendship Hank and Krieg have struck up, and would love for it to continue!
Unrelated tot booze, Krieg will always be down to help look for missing Pokémon - the harder to find, the better! I couldn't figure out a way to make a post about it, but he definitely found the missing Tentacruel he'd promised to look for. He pelted a LOT of random wild Tentacruel with poffins in his search, but he found the right one eventually!
