Now now, no need to get upset with one another.
[Luxord's voice can just barely be heard over the squabbling of some Pokemon, his 'gear being held by his Pawniard who wants nothing to do with this.
The squabbling Pokemon are a Aipom and a Meowth, the former holding a deck of cards out of the Meowth's reach.]
You do realize that most card games are for multiple players, yes?
[The Meowth huffs and flicks her tail, hissing at the Aipom who just hops away with a triumphant look. Luxord finally comes into view with a small Sableye on his shoulder who is happily munching on some gold coins.]
If you two are done now we can get back to practicing. The sooner you two learn the rules, the sooner we can pay a visit to the casino. [The blonde smirks and his Pawniard sighs, earning a glance from her trainer.] ...Really, Ace?
[Yes, dear trainer. She's going to make sure everyone knows you're trying to swindle people.]
[B. Goldenrod City]
A rather good haul if I do say so myself.
[Tossing a few coins up into the air and catching them, Luxord smirking lazily as he strolled down the street with his Pawniard, Meowth, Ekans, and Aipom in tow. His Sableye was, as usual, perched on his shoulder munching on some coins, churring and purring contently.
Best. Day. Ever.
His pockets were loaded and they'd easily afford a fancy hotel room for a few nights, Luxord already planning to visit the Game Corner before then to score another haul. Being a Rocket was all fine and well but it hardly provided him the amount of money he needed to maintain the way of life he wanted.
Thus, gambling and betting.]
I wonder if this world has races of any sort. It may be worth looking into. [The blonde pauses as they come upon a small food stand, the smell tempting enough to draw his attention and he let's out a thoughtful noise.] Shall we spoil ourselves a bit? [His Ekans drew itself up and let out a hiss of agreement as Ace, his Pawniard, stopped to consider the offer--
and his Meowth and Aipom took it upon themselves to bombard the food stand.
Luxord sighed as chaos ensued, reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose as Swindle and Decker assaulted the poor vendor, counting down under his breath before letting his hand drop.]
Both of you, get back here now!
[Wildcard!]
Hit me with anything you want!
B!
Well, he can't just leave without attempting to offer a helping hand, can he?
The poor vendor is too close to attempt a proper battle, and Harald doesn't particularly want to harm these mischievous Pokémon in the first place since their owner seems less than pleased with their antics himself. Perhaps a less direct attempt at dissuasion will do the trick.
His Vulpix climbing up to his shoulder as he reaches down to his belt, he calmly opens a Pokéball from his hand.] Thrym, stop these troublemakers, please.
[From the ball emerges a mass of fog as a Gastly wafts into view, putting itself between the shopkeeper and Luxord's own Pokémon. It grins before contorting its maw into a Scary Face in hopes of startling Swindle and Decker back to the Rocket.]
no subject
At least you got one of them back to their trainer.]
And what have we learned, hm? [Luxord mused as he held a ball of angry fur in his arms, the Pawniard at his feet shaking her head disapprovingly while his Ekans snickered. Swindle merely spit and hissed more, poking her head up to glare at the Gastly which had her trainer chuckling as he fixed the other trainer with a grateful look in the form of a lazy grin.]
Splendid timing, friend. I appreciate the assistance.

[His attention shifts thusly to Decker on the umbrella. He feels it will be best to let the Aipom clamber down on its own, but he doesn't voice this. What Luxord decides to do about it is between those two, not Harald.
He murmurs a quick apology to the shopkeeper, inquiring if they're unharmed and so forth, before returning his gaze to Luxord.]
I do hope your Pokémon won't feel too sore about all of this. I'd hate to be on bad terms with them right from the start.
no subject
[At least not for some time. On top of the umbrella, Decker let's out an indignant squeak that turns into a whine as his tail jerks about, the Aipom hunkered down on top of the umbrella as if terrified that the Gastly was going to come get him at any moment.]
Not at all. [A pause and then an amused snort leaves him.] Well, actually, Swindle may hold a bit of a grudge-- [The Meowth hisses in agreement.] --but she'll get over it. If anything I do believe you have won yourself the respect of Ace here. [He nods down towards his Pawniard who straightens herself up some and nods in agreement. Her teammates are disastrous.]
no subject
[He unfolds his arms to let his Vulpix hop to the ground. She approaches Ace, tails wagging curiously as she offers a friendly sniff and a chirp.]
Would you care to take a seat somewhere? I don't intend to impose upon your time, but it's been awhile since we've really introduced ourselves to someone. I'm sure my kids have been getting bored, and an opportunity to let them run around with some new friends might be nice.
