[And then he realize he's having one of those moments, where two different timelines are spilling over each other in his brain. When did they talk about that? Three days ago? A month ago?]

'Did they figure the crash out?' that should probably be my first question. [Though Jack can probably see the moment that Hank's brain had just completely derailed and slid off the tracks because he actually started counting on his fingers, as if trying to subtract and add that hole of missing acquaintance.]

[ jack watches hank try to back up and figure out when the conversations took place, and he waves a hand. ]

No, they still have no idea. Articuno's been the first clue we might have had about it. Ford was more excited by seeing Lugia, though, who seemed to be protecting him.

[ jack hears a flo, and so does jolene. she reeaaaches out to try and peek in hank's pocket. ]

[But then there's a little Sylveon peeking at his pocket, much like Sumo does when he sees someone holding a small dog, so he ends up obligingly bringing out his little flower girl and offering her down for the Sylveon to see.]

He has, and he's kind of the closest thing us displaced people have of an expert on him. I guess you could say Lugia's one of his favorites.

[ there's an excited bwee! from the blue sylveon when she sees connie. if hank doesn't stop her, she'll sweep her up and set the floette on top of her head, singing a song to her.

jack looks at her, bemused. meanwhile, scout is just happy to shove his large head under his dad's. ]

So it was kind of a fanboy meeting a celebrity thing? Or like... the Disney version of Ahab and his whale. [Because lord knows if Disney did that, he'd be wanting to ride the beast instead of murder it.]

[Connie peers over Hank's fingers and he hands her down to the Sylveon. She's still very small, clutching her flower that she keeps forever perfect.]

Is that a shiny one? [Says Hank, who is largely unfamiliar with how shinies work other than sparkles and sometimes great or very unfortunate odd coloration.]

She's good, but she's got a mean streak if someone picks a fight with her. I feel like I'm carrying the pokemon version of a concealed weapon. [And, honestly, he's a little proud of that.]

Yeah, Jo is. I was thinkin' about what I wanted to evolve her to, but she popped up on me like this after I fed her some PokePuffs. Can't say I mind it, she's got quite a few helping hands and she's been learning how to read.
