hi pal!: someone caught a death cold at the wrong time and is just getting to this

[John's been trying to keep to a regular sort of training schedule around his job and general life stuff, cos that's what you're supposed to do, right? As a Trainer? So he's in the general Near-Goldenrod area when there's a sound like someone has been stabbed or something? Possibly? (Every time he was stabbed he was either asleep already or was just shocked and died but he is pretty sure some people probably scream!) No matter what it is, it sounds like someone is in trouble, so he makes sure Alice has a good grip on his hoodie and takes off at a run towards where the noise came from.

It's not long before he encounters a teen stomping in his direction on the path and he slows to a halt, Alice raising his wings like a cloudy parachute to help John in his abrupt stop.]

Hey! Did you hear a scream coming from somewhere around here? Do you know what happened?

Oh no! Hope you're feeling better now.

[Steve startled from his grumbling by the question, and it takes him a moment to actually process what he's saying. Once he does... well, that's embarrassing. It's not like he can tell him someone wiped the floor with his Pokémon using a teeny, tiny kitty.]

Oh, yeah. I just totally trashed this nerd in battle. Total buttsnack. Some people just can't handle losing.

[He forces out a laugh, patting the two trusty Pokéballs secured on his belt. They're totally fine and raring to go. Not fainted or anything.]

[John looks kind of skeptical and raises his eyebrows as Alice settles down over his shoulders like a shawl.]

Haha ok, it was just a scream of someone losing a Poke battle, then? Nobody got hurt or anything?
