[From behind Romelle, a shiny Gastly erupts into peals of laughter over this sequence of events. Not too far away, Keith's holding his Mimikyu in his arms and.... looking like he's trying hard not to laugh as well, but kinda failing at that.]

You probably spooked it.

[It's meant to be helpful, but...]

I did no such thing!

[ she says it loudly, sulking as she hears a parade of laughter from behind her. romelle turns around to huff at the culprit, but instead... ]

...Keith! [ she brightens up, then: ] It's good to see you!

[The freaking nanosecond she says his name, the laughter dies and is replaced with a burgeoning sense of ohhhhhh shit. It wouldn't be the first time he's run into someone who clearly recognizes him only for him to have zero recollection of their existence.]

[The Gastly continues to laugh and though Keith has half a mind to tell it to knock it off, it's at that moment he registers a couple of pretty crucial things about strange girl. First, the ears. Then the markings.]

Wait.

[Eyes widening a little, his voice takes on different nuances of uncertainty.]

Youre.. an Altean??

[ this is....

this is confusing?? and disheartening, to say the least?? romelle frowns when there's zero recognition on his end. he looks...younger, too.

she pauses. ]

Oh, I understand now. This must be a Keith from another reality.

[marmoron]

A what?

[Pardon him for blurting that out, but this end of S1 child has had zero experience with alternate realities and, as far as he's aware, thinks this is still theoretical physics mumbo jumbo. The Gastly floats by his head, still snickering. Meanwhile, the Mimikyu in his arms tilts her head back to look at her trainer.]

....Wait, does that mean you're Allura from another reality? How do you know me?

[quizzak]

[ yeah this really is mumbo jumbo, but at least it's mumbo jumbo that makes more sense to romelle than it does to keith. the wooper is just. idly hanging out in the meantime and looks like it might send a stream of water to keith, too, but for now it's just chilling.

romelle raises his eyebrow at his accusation, though. it's so outlandish that she can't help but laugh. ]

Of course not. In my reality, you and Krolia found my colony and rescued me.

[ she figures that anything more might make him more confused, so she'll leave it at that.

please don't pry keith. it's for your own good. ]

[Okay. He's glad (?) things are making sense for you, Romelle, but...]

[ now she's starting to PANIC because THANKS KEITH. but seriously, someone please sendhelp. ]

[Okay. So whoever this "Krolia" person is, Romelle clearly thinks it's outrageous that he doesn't know of her and while part of him is feeling a little indignant about this because his not-knowing-shit-people-think-he's-supposed-to-know shit has been a constant thorn in his side since he woke up here, he's also just genuinely not sure how he's supposed to know someone from another reality either.]

Look. I don't know what's going on. There are a bunch of people from my world who say they're from the future. Space-time is kinda broken here.

[ she straightens up and smiles at keith. ]
