[The camera spins away from Steven's grinning face to a group of Kricketot that would likely be better described as a 'swarm'. One of them waves to the camera.]

I found these guys around Cherrygrove! They're amazing, watch this- hey guys!

[The mass of Bug Pokemon bumble to something resembling attention.]

You wanna show people what we practiced? Okay, one two three-

[The Kricketot start shifting and chirping, and in a few seconds it- kind of synchs up? It's still definitely insectoid chirping, but there's a moment like when a photo of two faces turns into a vase, where the noise flips into coherent music.]

That's great you guys, good work!

[The camera turns back to a grinning Steven.]

[It takes a moment for Flayn to get it, but when she does? Oh, her face brightens up and she grins and applauds, standing up - her 'gear is on a table in front of her, so for a good moment and a half all you can see of her is from her torso down, until she decides to sit again.]

Oh my goodness, that was delightful! How ever did you convince them to sing together like that?

Ha, thanks! It was a lot of patience and a lot of snacks, honestly.

[One of the Kricketot has climbed up onto Steven's shoulder, now that the song has finished. Steven fishes a small potato chip out of a pocket and passes it to the Kricketot, which eagerly devours it.]

It was probably mostly the snacks, if I'm being honest.

That is an incredibly clever motivation tactic. I not only applaud your troupe's skills, but your resourcefulness as well.

[More applause! Though she doesn't stand up again, which is a relief, that might get a little silly.]

Though I must say, I have never quite seen a snack like that one before. What is it?

They're these crispy-fried slices of potato- um, do they have potatoes on your planet? That might be a weird question. Is that a weird question?

Not at all! And we do indeed have potatoes, but I have only seen them thinly sliced in such a way for gratin. Frying them by themselves sounds heavenly!

[Fried goodies!!! She must procure some at once!]

They're great! They come in a bunch of different flavors, too. Where are you? They probably have them in the PokeMart.

[Have you heard the good news about our lord of snack foods Mr Pringle?]

I am quite near one, actually - I believe it is either next door or a few doors down from the Pokemon Center. [She's in Cherrygrove - there's a pond right there.] Flavors, you say? As in, the potatoes are fried and covered in different salts or ground-up herbs?

Yeah! The plain ones usually just have salt, but some of them will have barbecue seasoning, or cheese, or- spicier stuff.

[Fire salt probably isn't a thing here, but there's got to be degrees of spice leading up to that, right?]
