Ex-undead, ex-lich. She doesn't know the details of how the hell that works, either. It's fine. This is fine.

Years of being here, that almost sounds worse than being here in the first place and she's letting out a slow sigh through almost clenched teeth. Great. So she's stuck here. In a mortal body. Without her magic. In bondage to a bunch of idiots no one knows the actual goals of.

"Luckily I have a few things up my sleeve other than just magic, since you gotta start somewhere before you're even able to start learning all of that shit." Like being a street rat urchin type, but that's a tale for another time entirely. "I'll absolutely get in contact with you once I'm done with all this nonsense, promise~"

"A proper and decent one." He grins a bit, allowing his slightly wider than normal mouth to show off a bit. "But really if you want to be condescending, you really ought to try harder... consider it a challenge." He says with a smirk.

"After all, you clearly didn't have much to entertain yourself with in your home, or such petty words wouldn't be your go to." He comments back, arching a brow in response, teasing her and intentionally trying to see what could get under her skin in return.

Oh, she's just giving him a thin-lipped smile in turn and even if her ears are a lot shorter here than they ought to be, there's the slightest hint of the tip twitching. How weird.

"Generally I'd just torture them instead, but I don't have that luxury here, unfortunately. I'm sure you noticed the lack of... abilities, shall we say?" She doesn't have to make people suffer, but it's so much more fun if she still tries.

"Nor do I find you particularly worth my effort and I'm really growing dreadfully bored the longer you speak. Though I will say, that whole mouth thing you have going on there isn't particularly attractive. Or scary." She's seen worse. She's been worse, thank you very much. And she's spent enough time around humans and humanoids to know what is and is not normal.

"Great," he says. "I'll let you get back to your useless bullshit training, then." And if she doesn't have anything else to ask him about, he'll probably leave, then.

He shrugged a bit, acting as casually as possible. "I don't know what else you are lacking, but I am missing nothing that I had before." he says, since she didn't seem to know for certain about his stand, maybe he could act as if he did have everything from before.

"Yes well... fortunately there's no one here with looking attractive for. I'll remember that when I'm around someone who matters."

[His sense of danger may diminish some as he tries to figure out how to stop broadcasting. After a few moments of awkwardly messing with the device he finally just closes it, hoping that stops the thing.]

"Perhaps..." Jonathan frowns, and looks back to the map, squinting at some of the finer print near the village they seem to be in. "...According to the map, there should be some sort of laboratory here- given the alternative of knocking upon the doors of other residents here, we stand a far greater chance of information at a place of study."

"Though tucking it away may be wise for the time being regardless." It's. Concerning. Concerning device. Hrmmmm.

"That sounds to be a solid plan." He says in agreement, before stuffing his inside of the sleeping bag from his stuff, in hopes that it was a safe place to keep it for the time being. "A man of science may be our best hope to get a through understanding of what those things are, and maybe even a bit more of what's brought us here, now." He says in agreement.

Even with an explanation it would likely take him time to trust such a strange thing, but that was not even a consideration right now.
