"Oh! I'm Entrapta!"

She stands there, gleeful and excited with a light tilt of her head. It takes her a few seconds to remember, with a small noise, and she sticks one hand out to shake. "Technically I'm a princess, but since Dryl doesn't exist I don't imagine I have much authority here."

He takes her hand and gives it a firm shake. "I'm pleased to meet you, Entrapta of Dryl."

And he is. He really and truly is.

"Oh you don't need to be formal about it," she says dismissively. "Dryl isn't a particularly important kingdom, we don't even have an elemental Runestone."

She takes her hand back and wraps one arm around a ponytail, toying with her hair with a hint of awkwardness. "I, uh. I also don't have some of my abilities here, so it's kind of... unusual."

She misses using her hair for things.

"I know the feeling," Steven says. "I don't have some of mine, either. They say that every so often, though, we get them back for a weekend--it hasn't happened yet since I've been here, but maybe soon enough again."

The Impidimp glances over at Steven again, looking him up and down, but then turning away again.

"Oh! So that means you're entirely human now, correct?" Suddenly she is all up in his face, both gloved hands coming up so she can push his glasses up, standing on her toes to try and look at his eyeballs up close before she moves to push his mouth open to examine his teeth. "What were you originally, then?"

"Human, actually," he says, holding very still so he doesn't lash out at her. "I was just something else too for a while."

What a patient man, dealing with Entrapta's enthusiasm.

"Fascinating." She pulls away from Steven all at once, and pulls out her recorder again, and there's an almost clinical form to the way she's viewing Steven. "Log, day eight." And then she circles around him, grabbing one wrist to lift his arm in the air and examine him as she talks. "I've met another non-native being to this universe who claims to have existed in some sort of non-human and unusually powered form before arriving here, while somehow starting out as a human as well." She drops his wrist, then leans up to grab the hair on the nape of his neck like she's looking for a seam. "I plan to investigate more to try and learn the exact nature of his magic."

There's a click, as she turns off the recorder, and suddenly she's in front of him and up in his face again. "So! What kind of magic do you have!"

Honestly, it helps that she strongly reminds him of his missing-presumed-dead baby sister. He's always had a lot of patience for Charley and the way Entrapta resembles her in enthusiasm gives him patience for her too.

"Ah, our kind makes... contracts, they're called. With various concepts. And that's what gives us our magic. Basically."
