O-Bon festival: The streets are lined with NPC-run stalls for food, games, and the assorted tchotchkes of every summer festival you’ve ever seen in your animes! There’s Goldeen Scoop, heaping cones of Swirlix Candy, Test Your STRENGTH (there are two different machines for people and Pokémon; HM04 not required); basically, if you can think of it, it’s there. There will also be a yukata rental stall if you want to go full hog on the cultural side of things. Ecruteak boasts a small stage where the Kimono Girls give a short performance once every two hours; the festivities in Lavender Town are a little quieter, but they also have Haunter-shaped ice cream treats. When you lick them, they Lick you!

On the last evening of the festival in either location, there will be a large bonfire and traditional bon-odori dance in which everyone is welcome to participate. In Lavender Town only, they also set paper lamps afloat in the water past the cliffs.

Who you gonna call?: Remember “The Ghost of Maiden’s Peak”? Well, some of the local Gastly, Duskull, and Yamask seem to have gotten it into their heads that this kind of tomfoolery is somehow good medicine. If your trainer had someone in their life, someone now dead, that they have unresolved business with, these ghosties may take it upon themselves to play a little dress-up and follow your trainer around in the guise of said dead person until the issue is resolved. It’s their way of saying thank you for all the spiritual appeasement of the festival.

These ghosts won’t speak; Pokémon don’t talk, after all. So yes, your trainer is going to be followed around by some silent echo of their past who will not leave them alone.

Nobita looks up at the teenager next to him. "Really? It's...it's not an actual ghost? But-but how would the Ghost-types know what he looks like?" He gestures at the hovering figure next to him. "He looks just like me, but you can see that he also looks like Jinko!"

However, those next words make him pause. "They're-they're all dead?" His hand flies to his mouth. "I'm so sorry!" After all, his ghost is only a possibility-and he's never had such a close relative die yet.

Tamashii, meanwhile, simply growls in agreement at Keenan's comment about how "cruel" this is. The ghost turns to Keenan and waves.

(Nobita. Nobita, you just answered your own question.)

"Buddy - you may have just answered your own question. They look like a mix of you and her."

Keenan waves back. The Litten, not realizing it's not a Dark-type yet, hisses at the ghost.

"I've... dealt with it. It's been seven years and my home really, really sucks. This one is a major improvement so far."

Nobita blinks. Oh. Ohhhhh. Right. If it knows about how Nobisuke came back in time to change his future, it must know what Jinko looks like.

"So...does that mean I didn't...didn't kill this version of my son, by changing the future? Nobisuke still exists, but he never told me anything about his dad!" He blinks. "Our son's traveled back in time, but each time I've seen him he's always been mine and Shizuka's son. And...and he doesn't have any siblings, even though we had a bunch of kids in that other timeline..."

He wipes away his tears. "I don't know why I'm thinking about this so much..." In fact, he'd never considered it until the ghost appeared.

He blinks a few times at Keenan's last comment. "Really? That's...that's good, then, right?"
