[By this point, Tiramisu has realized that Hunk is paying attention to something that isn't her. Which means, naturally, that she is immediately obligated to come over to investigate, earning a chuckle from Hunk before he tilts the 'Gear so the Lycanroc can see what's happening.]

Y'know, I've been here for months and I still haven't figured out the answer to that first question. I'm not entirely sure she's pretending, though. And your grandma is probably still at home. In your world.

[Kayo is instantly more interested in the Lycanroc than in Hunk. She breathes a soft "woah" as the pokemon comes into view. She'll remember she's talking to someone in a moment. The heck do you mean "not pretending"?]

So how did I get here and where is home?

[Hunk can't even blame her for being more interested in Tiramisu. Aside from her at-times inconvenient love for battling, the Lycanroc has been an amazing companion. The fact that she's also pretty adorable doesn't hurt, either!]

The same way we all got here. For me, it was a matter of just... waking up here instead of there.

[That is to say... he's not entirely sure.]

Home is likely where it always is. You're just here now. As far as the woman in New Bark goes, she's pretty much harmless and she means well. Have you looked in the bag yet?

I see.

[That explains exactly nothing, but she can tell he's being honest. Just one more thing to add to the "weird" pile. Kayo looks completely unconvinced about that "means well" comment, but she does shake her head a little to answer his question.]

[If he knew more about how they were all sucked here, he would absolutely tell her. In fact, it's one of the things that bothers him most about all of this. Add to that the fact that most of his friends have decided to just not worry about it, and it's even more worrisome, in his completely biased opinion.]

Oh. Well, you should definitely check it out at some point. She put in some food and other things. The clothes should even be in your size.

[In truth, Kayo hadn't gone digging in the bag she got because she wasn't even sure the stuff was for her. The lady who gave it to her isn't her mother, after all. Kayo wouldn't want to be accused of stealing.

Given permission, though, she sets the 'gear aside and opens up the little backpack, peering inside. She pulls out the trail mix and the bento box, and underneath she finds the change of clothes. It looks like a school uniform- just not one that she recognizes at all.]

So what am I supposed to do?

[Hunk is rather nosey by nature, so it hadn't taken him long at all to dig into the bag that "Mom" had given him. Now, he's content enough to wait while Kayo does the same.]

There really isn't one right answer to that. Heading to the nearest town- that'll be Cherrygrove City for you- might be the best thing to do for now. You'll have to get through Route 29, but your pokemon should be able to help with that.

Why? What's in Cherrygrove City?

[Her attention returns to the 'gear, as she blindly re-folds the clothes in her lap.]

Nothing life-changing. I mostly mentioned it because it's a straight shot from New Bark Town - that's where you are right now.

[Unless she's planning on settling in New Bark, which he's doubting.]

There's also a warp to Violet City.

Yea? The pokemon centers generally have two warp pads. One that'll take you to the next city in line, and one that'll take you to the one before.

[It's something he's still trying to wrap his head around, but even he can't claim it's not convenient.]

[Ordinarily, he'd be inclined to agree with her. But he's seen and done so many things that shouldn't be possible.

He's also not particularly in the mood to argue with a child.]

[There have definitely been instances where he felt like arguing just for the sake of arguing.

Today is not one of those instances.]
