Network post!
--my gosh, fingers are so neat! First try! [The white-haired young woman on the screen looks delighted and there's an Oddish in her lap.]
So, um, hi! I'm Scorpia, and this little plant buddy here is a new friend I just made. I think I might call her Perfuma. I don't understand how I got here, really? Or where here is, like, at all?
I'm happy to be here, don't get me wrong! With these fingers I can hold delicate things or go bowling --oh! I want to try bowling again--and I can even wiggle them separately. Er, mostly separately.
[The last is a quick addition when she doesn't quite manage to wiggle her ring fingers without moving her middle fingers too.]
But I miss my friends so much. And, you know, my tail. Wow! I so did not realize how hard it was to keep balance without one. You guys have so much more of my respect now! And, um--
Anyway! So can someone tell me how to get my tail back, and the quickest way back to Etheria?
Rocket Arrival
Utilitarian bed, uniform, semi-intimidating note. It just feels so much like being back in the Horde! Which, admittedly, Scorpia definitely doesn't miss anymore. The rebellion and the other Princesses have felt so much more like home than anything there ever did.
The problem is, Scorpia has no idea where she is, or where her friends are (her old friends, anyway. Her two brand-new friends are so adorable; she could just hug and cuddle them for hours!), or how understanding of a respectful declining of the new job the bosses here will be. Or what happened to her tail and pincers. Definite cons.
Pros, on the other hand, are her new friends! Fingers are so very useful! The uniform is pretty comfy, and the colors are nice, so that's a plus. And after having been a Force Captain, Scorpia is pretty sure the training will be nothing new. So it's not all bad! She'll be fine! Just fine. Deep breath! Push down all those doubts and worries! Head up! Smile~
And out the door-- "So, where am I supposed to go for training?"
New Bark Arrival
"Um, I don't understa--" Scorpia blinks at the closed door. Maybe the woman had realized her mistake and was embarrassed? Yeah, that seems like it. No way she was one of Scorpia's moms. Poor woman; wonder where her daughter is?
Maybe she should go look? Or... figure out where she is. That should be first. "All right, new buddy, I guess it's just you and me! We're gonna be great friends; I can tell already! Do you know where we are?"
The completely adorable and huggable little plant creature looks up at her. Is that a shrug? "Oddish."
Scorpia thinks it might be a shrug. Okay, they can explore together. "Stick with me; I'm sure we'll find somebody who knows! Come on!"
Rocket
He smiles at the new girl. "I can help you find it," he says. "Did you just get here?"
Instead of the full outfit, Steven's merely wearing the domino mask with his usual office attire, his wire-rim glasses perched on his nose on the other side of said mask.
no subject
"Um, yes? I woke up in the room just now and made some new friends." She peers curiously. "Oh, are they lax on uniform regs around here?"
no subject
He holds out a hand for her to shake if she wants. "I'm Steven. What's your name?"
no subject
Then she gasps, almost bouncing up and down in delight as she reaches out to shake Steven's hand. Her grip is too firm, and she holds her fingers weirdly straight at first before getting the hang of returning the shake, but it's very enthusiastic!
"Wow! My first handshake! I can't believe it; thank you so much." It takes her almost thirty seconds to remember the question. "Oh, right! I'm Scorpia."
no subject
(His own handshake is just the right amount of firm.)
"Well, I'm glad to have given it to you," he tells her. "Did you read the letter that was left for you?"
no subject
Scorpia trails off with a self-conscious little shrug. "The new friends are the cutest though! You guys have really good taste."
no subject
He does look like he honestly regrets that, too.

Wait. Right when she left? How does that work? Scorpia wishes Entrapta were here. Not that Entrapta would explain it better, but knowing Entrapta understood what this guy was talking about would make it better.
"Right. So I guess since I'm here... What kind of evil army is this supposed to be, exactly? The letter wasn't very clear, just vaguely threatening, you know?"

[The woman on screen sounds like Catra. She even looks mostly like Catra, though she's traded fur for bronze skin, facial markings for a spray of freckles, and mobile feline ears for the decidedly human sort. And she definitely elides potentially emotional moments like Catra.]
When did you get here? Where are you?
no subject
[Scorpia would recognize that voice anywhere, and she's immediately concerned.]
What did they do to your ears? And-- oh. I guess they did the same to both of us, huh. It feels so weird.
[She ticks off the (two) answers on her fingers, mostly just because she can.]
Um, this morning? I had to explore and figure out how to walk without wobbling, and get acquainted with little Perfuma here! And I didn't know this device existed right away!
And two... I might be a little lost? Just a little. I'll get my bearings soon, I'm sure! New world and all.
no subject
[She runs a hand through her hair, which has started to get a little shaggy.]
Just this morning? How did you manage to get lost already? There's only one road!
[Okay, maybe not exactly one, but there's only the one big one. It still counts.]
no subject
[Scorpia wrinkles her nose and glances over her shoulder to where her tail should be but isn't before sighing.]
I know where I am! I know where a road is, too. I just might have smudged up the map with dirt so I don't know what road I'm on.
no subject
[Any further questions are interrupted by a the appearance of a white equine nose that takes up the entire screen as Catra's Rapidash decides to take a look at who - or what - her trainer is talking to. The Pokegear tilts, then thuds to the ground, tipping over to temporarily blank the screen.]
Stop it. Get-- Leave it.
[Catra huffs in exasperation, and picks the 'gear up again; when the camera refocuses on her, there's now a pastel unicorn peering over her shoulder with unmistakable interest.]
There's only the one road out of town. Keep on it - don't detour - and it'll take you to Cherrygrove City in about three days. I'll meet you there.
Network
[And then it occurs to her that that might be on the rude side.]
That is. Yes. They're very useful.
[She'd missed them when she'd been an Abyssal One. Her real hands had been mostly inaccessible, as well as impractical given the sheer size of her Abyssal Form, and the giant tentacle heads she'd been left with were both too large and not designed for anything requiring dexterity.]
I don't think you can get your tail back, though. They turn us human while we're here.
no subject
[Scorpia doesn't seem to be insulted at all, and elaborates with enthusiasm.]
I had these great pincers! They were really strong and great for cutting just about anything. Not so great for things like computers or number pads, or paperwork or-- ugh, remotes were the worst.
[Immediate dismay.]
Why would they take it? My tail was a part of me! I've only stung people on accident a couple times.
no subject
[Remote whats?]
They do it to everybody they bring in from other worlds. They take away our weapons and powers, too. I think they might do it because they only want pokemon to have powers? But I don't know why.
no subject
[Scorpia blinks, and then holds up one of her hands. Nothing happens.]
Oh man, I just got my powers too. Did they, like, sever the connection between me and the Black Garnet? That's not good. That's not good at all.
no subject
[She doesn't know what a Black Garnet is either, but now is probably not the time.]
I'm not sure how they do it. There are weird weekends when our powers and forms temporarily come back, but they don't happen very often and they don't last for long. And we still can't get out.
[Granted, Cassandra has nowhere to go back to, but still.]
no subject
[Scorpia doesn't think to elaborate, caught up in the implications of the statement.]
Not good. Not good at all. What if--
[She stops, takes a deep breath, mutters something under it and then smiles.]
But we can't let that stop us! We just have to do our our best and push down all the doubts and insecurities!
no subject
[She's not sure she even wants to ask; she'll just accept that she's not going to understand half of this conversation.
She's mulling over how to respond to the rest of the woman's message when Blade, her Silvally, appears in a shower of sparkles, leaning down to look over Cassandra's shoulder at the screen. It turns its attention to Cassandra after a second, trilling questioningly. To Blade, Cassandra says:]
It's another new person.
no subject
Oh hello! What a cool friend! I bet they're good for hugging and everything.
[She then pauses for a second.]
Is everybody's new friend different?
no subject
Usually. Some people might end up with the same kind, but they all seem to have been assigned with the recipient in mind.
