Even if his guard wasn't completely down, she's an expert at sneaking—she plots her route from a distance, and in barely a blink, her silent steps bring her right up behind him where she grabs him by the shoulders and screams,] Boo!

[In the same instant, she takes a long leap back out of reach, as if expecting violent retaliation.]

[ Orpheus all but jumps out of his own skin at the interruption, whirling around on his heels with his eyes wide and a hand clutched over his chest, unaccustomed to the regular renewed beating of his heart, much less the sudden jolt he was just given. ]
