Ah- not yet, I kind of like it just being me and Bell- [ yes he named a duskull after bell peppers what of it ] right now. It keeps my head clear. But I can help you out if you'd like?

[ Really, he thinks it might be necessary actually- it. It's a tiny sunflower seed in the middle of winter. But he won't say that, because that's rude and he's not that out of touch. ]

I have not been sure that I wanted to, either. It's just...a little strange, I suppose.

[He feels bad about it? How do you just go out and...throw a ball at something, and then they're stuck with you? The possible necessity of it hasn't occurred to Asgore yet; he doesn't really think of Seedy as his protection on this journey, for perhaps obvious reasons.]

If we were to make friends with one, that would be different. But I should hate to take an innocent creature away from its home.

No, that's understandable. I don't think there's anything stopping you from going about it that way.

[ Honestly, the big guy's attitude- but let's be real, only his attitude- kind of reminds Lewis of his own father. It's endearing. ]

The offer to go with still stands, of course. Venturing into the woods alone always sounds like a bad idea, even if you're being peaceful about it.

[Asgore smiles, though there's a bit of a twinge of something to it. It's hard sometimes, to accept good things happening when he feels that he does not deserve them. It's something he has struggled with particularly since the Surfacing, with the humans who do not...know the full story.]

Are you heading anywhere in particular? To be honest, I do not have any real goals just yet. [He's just arrived, he's still working on pretty short-term "understanding how this works" sort of things]

Not really.

[ The little town was nice, but he... Very much didn't want to stay. But he didn't want to splurge on a ferry ticket, so there was only one way to go. So he did. ]

Honestly, I've barely checked the map- not that it's too important on that trail. Only one way, and all. Otherwise, I'm just... existing.

[ How rare it is, do be able to do that again. How lovely it is, to be able to relish it no matter how lost he may still feel. ]

Well, if we're going to travel together... my name is Lewis Pepper. It's nice to meet you.

[ And he smiles pleasantly, despite his otherwise stoic... hardened demeanor. ]

[Asgore gets to his feet, at that. He's absurdly tall. But then, Lewis is also huge. Look at us, giant men!]

It is nice to meet you, Lewis! I am Asgore Dreemurr.

[He inclines his head, something of a regal gesture, but that aura goes pretty quick. He's wearing a floral-patterned shirt.]

And this is Seedy. They are a Sunkern, I believe. We are simply existing as well, for the moment.

[Well. Seedy is attempting to fight everything they see. But nevermind that.]

[ Dang. He's used to being the tallest person in the room, so meeting someone who really is taller than him is almost jarring. ... No, no, it's incredibly jarring. Still, his mama raised him to be polite, so his surprise is only there for an instant before settling again to something more genial, if only slightly. ]

Do you have everything you think you might need?

[Asgore, meanwhile, is trying to figure out if humans even come in Lewis's height, if he might not be inhuman, and if it's worth the potential risk of asking. He's not used to people being this near his height at all!]

I believe so. I got plenty of the packaged food, although it is all a little...odd.

[He's never made a habit of eating human food...]

It usually is. Fresh made food's usually the best tasting, but pre-packaged can do the job... [ Not what Asgore meant, but then, how is Lewis supposed to know that? ] Oh! I can probably cook again now. That'll be nice...

Well. If you think you're ready, I'm good to go.

Yes, I am ready. We were just taking a little break.

[He leans down to retrieve his bag, and scoops up Seedy as well. They settle in easily on his shoulder - the perfect vantage point to watch for prey!]

I hear that they have inns in Violet City. We could spend the night in one, if we make it there today.

Oh- yeah, that sounds nice.

[ He hadn't even thought of that, actually. He was content to just... rough it, really. Wasn't the most uncomfortable thing in the world! Still, for a moment the weariness on his face slips away while he addresses Seedy for a moment. ]

Well, don't you just look so comfortable up there. Their attitude- it kinda reminds me of one of my little sisters. A real troublemaker, but she's a good kid...

[ Still, reminiscing isn't going to much good. So he starts walking. He hadn't admitted it, but he'd still not quite rested- he will, when he's tired, I swear. But the soreness in his legs reminded him he was alive. He didn't mind holding on to that a bit more. ]

[Asgore hasn't slept rough since the early days of the Underground. He's willing to do so again, if it comes to that, but it would probably be much nicer for everyone if they did not.

He falls in alongside Lewis, smiling a little crookedly at the comment.]

You have siblings?

Only three, all girls. Belle, Paprika and Cayenne. ... [ It'd been so long, he hadn't realized he'd named his duskull after Belle. ] They were triplets. Belle's energetic, while Paprika's a bit shier and quieter... Cayenne is whatever causes the most mischief- but like I said, she is a good kid, promise.

I miss them a lot.

[ He falls silent for just a moment, before sighing a bit. Before, he might have put on a smile and changed the subject. Nowadays, he doesn't really bother with putting on airs. He'll still remove the topic from him though. ]
