Ghosts?

[ ...Which is a weird thought, given that there are ghost-type Pokemon that exist here. He'll have to wrap his head around how all of that works. ]

In all seriousness, I'm not sure. Maybe the researchers would know.

[ It sure didn't sound like just a weird glitch, after all. ]

[philoxenia]

[ She knows ghost Pokemon are different from human ghosts, but she still shivers a bit. ]

Maybe... If anyone would know, it has to be them. [ She pauses, though. ] I wonder-- I've heard there's a special type of Pokemon here. Maybe it's them?

[hyping]

Could be. They might be trying to communicate with us, ominous noises and all.

[ It's kind of creepy, but if they're just trying to have a chat, he sees no reason why he should deny them.

His Toxel, on the other hand, seems disturbed. He's hanging off of Akira's back and whining, which is...troubling? ]

We can see if the researchers know anything. Or the ranger.

[philoxenia]

[ It's better than having them talk in her head, at the very least. The poor Toxel, though... Mira rummages around in her bag and pulls out a berry, which she holds out. ]

It's worth a try. And... as for your friend, would this settle them down a bit?

[hyping]

[ !! Ah, what a kind gesture. Akira pauses for a moment and takes the berry before he gives Mira a small smile. ]

I'll give it a try.

[ He holds out the berry to Toxel, and he finally stops his whining to sniff at the berry.

He takes a bite into it...and then another. And another. While he doesn't seem eager to eat it, he's certainly enjoying it to some degree and it's effectively stopped his whining. ]

Ah, it worked - thanks, you're a lifesaver.

[philoxenia]

Ah, I'm glad it did!

[ She's relieved; she doesn't like seeing these little guys so distressed. ]

You're welcome. I make sure to keep a lot of berries on hand, just in case. [ And then she remembers-- ] Oh-- I'm Mira, by the way.

[hyping]

Good idea. I'll need to remember to pick more, since he seems to like them so much.

[ The little purple Pokemon looks pretty content to munch at that berry, after all. Akira reaches over to give Toxel a little pat on his head before he turns back to Mira. What a nice girl. ]

I'm Akira. Nice to meet you.

[ He gestures towards the research center with his head. ] Well then, shall we?

[philoxenia]

It's nice to meet you, too.

[ She nods, and starts to lead him there. ]

Have you been here very long, Akira?

[hyping]

Only for a week or so.

[ He spent a good chunk of time trying to catch other Pokemon before he got to Violet City. Too many cute ones to pass up on. ]

It's been...an interesting experience, but I don't mind it. It's peaceful, in a way.
