I arrived a short time ago. Though perhaps it would be best if you went on ahead of me.

[ Now that... was an unexpected suggestion. Lysithea frowns in confusion. ]
Why would it be 'best'? Would it not be safer to go together?
no subject
[Dedue nods in understanding; it's best not to venture alone into the wilderness, after all, but he personally would walk across the entire earth were Dimitri on the other side.]
I doubt Felix and Sylvain will be happy to see me here. You would do well not to associate yourself with me in their minds.

I see. I supposed a word of warning was appropriate. I apologize.
no subject
[ And with nothing more than a mildly offended huff, Lysithea calms down. ]
I am glad to see you in good health. This realm is interesting- according to the others I've been able to contact, our magic and the Crests don't work here. What companion were you gifted with?
no subject
... He likes her already.]
Oh? I was not aware of that... [It could be a good or bad thing, depending on the person, and how liable they are to get into trouble...
But fretting right now will do no good, so he leans over and encourages a little green sprout to teeter over.]
Come here, little one. [He looks back up to Lysithea as the creature twirls around on one stubby foot.] I believe it is called Budew. What of yours?
no subject
[ She watches the little creature in awe. It's so unlike anything from back home. At his question, Lysithea opens her backpack, and lets her milcery float out- it had wanted to ride in the bag, and given how light it was, Lysithea saw no reason to object. ]
It's called a Milcery. It's said that they bring good fortune to sweets shops should they visit one, and it is able to cast it's own form of magic.
Those devices we received- the "Gears"?- can provide information on the creatures of this world.
no subject
Do you intend to test that? [It's a funny thing to bring up, otherwise.]
I had only looked over it quickly. I was more concerned about navigation. I will look more closely soon.
[For its part, Budew doesn't seem to mind; Dedue is plenty kind to it, and it has a new friend to play with! It bounches a couple of inches off the ground, trying and failing to reach as high as Milcery.]
no subject
[ Still, she's smiling about it- it's not a teasing comment but a genuine question, after all. As they talk, Lysithea gently ushers her milcery down closer, so it can properly play with Budew. Milcery, for her part, is chirping cheerfully, waving it's flappy little arms in glee! A new friend is always nice, but one she didn't have to fight to say hi to as well? Wonderful! ]
I understand. Especially with Claude and Dimitri so far away... But I've found an aspect referred to as a PokéDex which has proven helpful. It's the function I just mentioned- though it works best with the Pokémon we already care for, it can also share some information about the ones we encounter in the wild to assist with strategy. Each one has an elemental affinity, you see, and with that affinity comes their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

Similar to magic, then. [He eyes Budew as it twirls. He would hate to make the mistake of getting into a battle the small creature had no hope of winning; and that is assuming he'd have the heart to send the little flower bud in rather than defend himself.] If it is that important, I will learn. Thank you for telling me.
no subject
Yes, in it's own way.
[ But Goddess above, she wishes she could cast for herself again. ]
You're welcome. I'm sure the others will have more advice for us once we reunite with them... have you been able to contact anyone?
no subject
Undoubtedly. They appeared quite settled in already when I spoke with them.
Have you met with any others from the Alliance? [And maybe his face grows a little darker.] Or heard tell of the Empire?
no subject
Thankfully, I've not seen anyone from the Empire, though Claude believes that even among them it is only Edelgard or Hubert we should truly worry about. As they are more aggressive, he believes the won't be reasoned with while the others can be persuaded. I'm not sure I agree, but I trust Claude with my life, and he clearly cares for Dimitri. I know he would sooner let himself get hurt than risk those he cares for, despite what he may claim.
no subject
"Clearly?" Why do you say that?
no subject
[ There's certainly more to what Claude said, but she's not about to go gossiping. ]
Claude is many things, but he does not throw that sort of sentiment around blindly.
no subject
I see.
[... He's sort of stuck in his head now, and doesn't know what else to say presently. So... he's just going to eat.]
no subject
[ Still, if it's food time, it's food time- and what a delight! ]
It's just like back at the monastery when you were on kitchen duty, before everything happened- no, even better! You've only improved over time.
no subject
I am... glad you enjoy it. It is the result of any other talent -- hard work and perseverance.
no subject
[ If anyone can understand the value of hard work, it's definitely her. ]
A good work ethic is something to admire, I think.
