[Prepared for this sort of reaction as he is, Dedue isn't bothered. Felix has always been prickly toward Dimitri and Dedue both, and the Duscur man is obliged to tolerate the latter.]

Felix. It is good to see you safe. [It's true, even! Has Dedue ever lied for the sake of formalities? Didn't think so.]

[Only for Dimitri’s sake, no doubt. Felix can see that Dedue is old enough, changed enough, to come from sometime after the war began...]

What’s the last thing you remember from the war?

[Oh, definitely. Well, that, and Felix is just plain an ally, personal disagreements or not.]

We have just recaptured Fhirdiad, and His Highness ascended the throne. [It was one of the most beautiful moments Dedue has ever witnessed. He doesn't think Felix would share the sentiment, though.]

[He can't help a small sigh of relief to hear that.]

Finally. Everyone else came from different points in the war. It's...frustrating. But you and I are from the same point. The last thing that happened for me was the victory celebration in Fhirdiad, and preparing to march to Derdriu.

[His expression softens somewhat, then, as he nods.] And Dimitri taking the throne. And...greeting the people.

[He may not have fully resolved things with Dimitri even now, and certainly not then, but still...seeing Dimitri walk out onto that balcony to the cheers of all of Fhirdiad for their king was quite literally a childhood dream come true for Felix. He used to imagine it all the time when he was young...and he always imagined himself in the colors of the king's knights, standing by Dimitri's side. It wasn't quite like that in the end, but it was...close enough. Felix was there, and that was enough.]

[That's odd. He had sort of just assumed everyone else was just as fresh and new to this world as he; that they had all simply been stolen away and awakened here simultaneously.]

It is... frustrating? Everyone is alright, are they not? [Gods forbid someone was horribly wounded here or there.]

They're fine. But...

[Oh. Yes, Dedue should probably hear this.]

The last thing Dimitri remembers from the war is marching to Gronder Field. That said, he's...still not the king we remember from Fhirdiad, but improved significantly since he's been here.

['Dimitri' again, not 'the boar.' He hasn't called Dimitri that in long enough now that it doesn't even occur to him that Dedue might expect it. And Felix isn't even aware that his expression has softened even more, now.]

And Sylvain doesn't even remember that much. He came from right before the reunion at Garreg Mach. And Claude's ahead of us.

[Dedue certainly does find it peculiar, but not in a bad way. The more civil Felix is toward Dimitri, the better for all of them. Mostly for Felix's kneecaps.

His face, though, is a little bit more confusing. That isn't the sort of look he expects Felix to have on the subject of his king.]

It does not matter to me where or when His Highness came from. He is still the same man.

[They were getting ready to come to his aid back home, but there was still much confusion amidst the war. If everyone else has already been socializing since arriving, Dedue does want to know, for the sake of Dimitri's safety.]

Is Claude our ally?

I know that. [Yes, he's snapping at Dedue already. At least it's been a few minutes!] I'm telling you so you know what to expect. Since I'm sure you'll be blindly hanging on his every word just like you always have.

[And once Dimitri has Dedue back, well...what will he need his Shield for then? Nothing.]

He is. He's more than our ally. He's our friend.

[He's more than that, too, but...let's just leave it at that for now.]

[It has been 0 minutes since our last nonsense.

Despite the attitude, Dedue hardly acknowledges it, if at all. It was likely only a matter of time, and he lets it roll off just as any other time. He has never needed Felix's approval.]

That is all I wanted to know. Thank you. [Claude is known to be slippery, so Dedue still doesn't entirely trust him, but Felix isn't the type to trust lightly, either, and that must be taken into account.]

Hmph. From Claude's perspective, we've already gone to Derdriu and defended it successfully.

[He's not about to tell Dedue the rest; those are Claude's secrets to share or not as he likes.]

I assume you're in that little town where everyone starts. With the sinister woman pretending to be everyone's mother.

[It seems the biggest variation thus far is Sylvain; everyone else appears to have entered this land within the span of a few weeks. Which doesn't make much sense, considering...]

I would not say "sinister." But how is it that we have come from different times? I have seen all of you -- except for Claude, of course -- in the last day.

I have no idea. We didn't even arrive in that order. Dimitri's been here the longest of us. Claude got here before I did. He says that when we go back, it's back to the same moment we left, so we're not missing anything.

[Of course. If anyone would figure all of this out, it's von Riegan.]

Has he gone back and forth? [It would make for good reconnaissance...]

He hasn’t. But he says he’s spoken to people who have, and that’s what they have reported.

We haven’t been able to confirm whether going back allows you to retain your memories of this place.

[Felix isn’t a hard person to read once you know him, and so the frown that some might call angry probably seems more worried to Dedue’s eyes.]

[While read into it he does, Dedue doesn't understand the significance. If memories don't transfer, then that would make it impossible for double agents to use the information they learn here.]

Why does it matter?

You would rather forget months or years of your life experience? [Felix scoffs.] I suppose for you it doesn't matter. You never change even a little bit. Nothing matters to you except the words that come out of Dimitri's mouth, regardless of what they are.

[Sorry, Felix, Dedue doesn't have five boyfriends to not want to forget about.

Yet.]

A shallow understanding at best, but that is true enough. [ Is Felix expecting some sort of bigger reaction, because...]

That's all the understanding I need or want. You'd better not enable Dimitri's worst impulses like you used to. I won't stand for it.

[Should Dedue poke the bear? Probably not. Does he realize that's what he's about to do? Probably also not.]

[Felix blinks, and then scowls. It's none of Dedue's business what he calls Dimitri.]

You're not. No matter how many times he tells you he hates the formality.

[Although it's technically true, Dedue shakes his head at Felix.]

I do not expect you to understand or care.

I care when it's hurting him, you heartless sycophant.

Call me what you will. It makes no difference to me, and does not change my relationship with His Highness.

Do as you like, then. But don't expect me to stand by and allow you to upset him without consequence.

[...and then he hangs up.]
