You don't play by the natural rules when you travel, correct? [He has to assume as much, given her lack of a vision while in Teyvat. And while he hasn't spotted a creature on her yet, the way she says 'our' is enough to make him suspect. Even if that weren't the case, Diluc is almost certain that she wouldn't have left herself weaponless.]

Generally, no- not unless something forces me to. Which is what I assume has happened here.

[ For what it's worth, Diluc, the only reason you haven't seen her cleffa is that it's staring at your ponytail behind you. He's fascinated. ]

I haven't stepped out to explore outside of this village just yet- the cold is a bit too intimidating and the days and nights last far longer here than back in Mondstadt. I also haven't seen anyone else- you're the first.

[ Cleffa's not really interested in this serious conversation! He wants to say hello to Fletchling! And with his chirped greeting, Lumine's attention is gained. ]

In any case, he's turning his attention behind him as well. The... pink blob is... interesting. The attention to his hair is finally noted (even if Cleffa is now distracted by the Fletchling), and Diluc quickly unties it as it is. It's pulled up into a much higher ponytail.

[ Listen-- listen. She appreciates it but also when will people believe her when she says she's a couple centuries old!? Is this because she doesn't have an ID? She was in an angst coma when those became a thing!! It's hard, looking so baby... ]

I appreciate the offer- while the outfit I was given includes pants, the shirt feels more like an undershirt.

[ Given how her dress is, that... that's kind of saying something.

Still, she can't help but giggle at his attitude- and her cleffa's indignance- he was just looking!! Fletchling, can you believe the nerve fo your trainer? So rude. ]

He's rather well behaved, don't worry. Sometimes he does wander off, but it's never too far.

[Somehow, Diluc trusts in letting Venti drink, yet poor Lumine must suffer the fate of being a child forever.

Honestly... Diluc might have been hoping that she would say no to the offer. Sleeves or no, it's frigid, and he doesn't have the ability to warm himself with his vision. Nevertheless, he shrugs the jacket off and drapes it over her shoulders.

Maybe if he places nice, the pink blob won't mess with him.]

[ It's because he can make people see his godly flashbacks, isn't it?!

Still, she's grateful for the action- she knows it's not pleasant. What awful luck, showing up in the middle of winter like this. The most she can offer is to stay close without... impeding on his personal space. ]

Thank you. [ But at his words, she shakes her head. ] It's your partner now- and perhaps your only form of defense. It's good that it stays by your side.

I've learned that these creatures can use abilities with similarities to Visions, and they are ours to command in battle should they so desire to be involved.

[That explanation does little to reassure Diluc. He isn't sure how a bird barely the size of his palm could do the same things that he could. Visions were small, but at least they contained godly power. He can't see how that's true with a hatchling.]

I don't like relying on other creatures for things I am capable of doing myself.

It does sound particularly awful... but I've learned to go with the culture in my travels when my way isn't available to me. Right now I'm not sure we have a choice... and I've learned that these creatures fighting is celebrated here. Some cities have arenas to challenge masters of battle, even.
