Local dorito space explorer pilot gets kidnapped by aliens and used as a cool labrat for a while, then leads a bunch of teenagers and friendly aliens in an intergalactic war. You know! For kids!

Anyways, he's chilled out some in game, he's been here for four years and is finally on his way to the Elite 4 and Victory Road. He's got a house in the Sevii Islands. And a new impassioned hate for Team Rocket - tl;dr they stole a bunch of his friend's Lapras and beat up Armin.

He's definitely the Older Brother slash Adoptive Parent Figure type of guy, with terrible pun humor and an eagerness to help. He might not know everything, but he's always willing to pitch in or volunteer what he does know.

Looking for:
Right now, Shiro's a bit torn. He absolutely needs and wants to continue on Victory Road, this is a journey years in process - and ultimately wants to build a Gym on the Sevii Islands where he lives. HOWEVER... Thanks to the Great Christmas Heist(TM), he's now more than ever invested in getting to the bottom of Whomst Stole Armin's Lapras.

So yes, he isn't sure if it would be best to journey on, or pause his work yet again to try and get into this mystery. Yes, with all the Rocket Drama that may entail.

Other than that, I'm open to just about anything!

The power of friendship gives AI Robots a soul. One of them is the """Lone Wolf""" Shadowmaru, who purposefully holds himself apart from the others since he uh. Dramatically lost his first and closest friend in the world. He turns into a dog and pretends it's a wolf.

He has officially lived longer in game as a human than in his world as a robot! But he's still sort of figuring things out. He's not great at being human, but he's better than some. He also hates the ocean, despite making himself live in Olivine. Training pokemon is hard for him, so all of his are very low-level. Participates in contests every chance he gets.

Looking for:
Just about anything! He's afraid of the ocean, but lives there, frets over how many pokemon he's accidentally collected, and would probably lose his mind if/when they ever had an egg. Someone probably should help him train them up - or at least train his Venipede up. That thing wants to murder.

Friends are great. He loves friends. And he's generally a friendly person all around. If... extremely dramatic.

Runaan... really hates humans. Like. Viciously. He is not nice or chill about it at all. And will not budge on it. He's actually camping out in the woods - and has been ever since his arrival - in order to stay out of cities whatsoever. In fact he downright refuses to go into anywhere humans are - minus the uh. Fight Club. Where he may or may not be welcome anymore.

BUT - he secretly adores his pokemon. And by secretly, we mean, he does it where no one can see. But he'd do just about anything for them. They're his surrogate kids while he's here.

Looking for:
Honestly, if you want negative CR, this is probably your guy. I can't promise he'll change his mind about anyone or anything human... but hey! We can always see what happens!

Looking for: Gym challengers... Gym visitors... Please, he can give you the card of the painter who created his hints, there's tasty soup in the fridge, your Water-types can lounge in the fountains for a while... The nights are long and lonely...

Also, he'll be updated to the end of Act 3 Chapter 1 of Opera Omnia around late March/early April, so that should open up some very fun discussion topics! And by "fun" I mean "painful and brain-twisty".

Cliffnotes: Kazuki is the Genki option in an old datesim game series that I have an irrational attachment to. He is a good boy, like a golden retriever, very sweet and not too bright. He's a classical musician specializing in the trumpet. In his world, he wants to be a music teacher. He is currently 22 in VR.

Right now, Kazuki is working on rehabbing an old inn in Azalea for his Silver Horn project, where he wants to make a rehab center for people and Pokemon. Rehab meaning for illness and injury. He also plans to teach music out of the same building.

Looking for: I'm always DTRP for basically anything with all of my characters, Kazuki especially as his character is pretty flexible. Anyone who either wants to help with, work at or stay at his inn is very welcome to approach him. He has a sort of therapeutic way about him, so he tends to mesh well with people who need a little bit of healing. I've always wanted to have some sort of romance with him; he's gotten close a few times but usually, the person he gets attached to gets dropped. Such is the way of RP!

He's also a Private in Team Rocket. He'd like to get another promotion at some point, so heists will be a thing at some point even if they're not at the front of his mind at the moment.

Honestly, the past year has been a big struggle for me but I am getting back in the swing of things and I'm eager to get this boy new CR/do more with the CR he already has.

I'm down for positive or negative, and I do have a few ideas. I'm thinking of getting him more involved in sports of some variety after his E4 challenge regardless of its outcome. He also really enjoys spectating gym battles, especially Whitney's.

On the Rocket side of things... it'd be great for him to get to know his fellow Rockets more for starters! But I would be more than happy to get involved in committing crimes against non-Rockets. Scamming isn't really his bag (because he's not smart enough...), but battles or mugging attempts would work out just fine. Or heck, even a good old fashioned fist fight.

Cliffnotes: I think at this point we are all familiar with Armin's canon, so lets run through his VR experiences instead.

Armin has been here for four years now. He started off as a trainer and got all his badges like a good trainer. At some point, after a very bad Halloween, he settled down on the Sevii Islands which is where he still lives. He worked as an assistant in a Marine Research center for about two years, and at some point he challenge the E4 and won! (Hooray) He made and lost a lot of friends, and one of those in particular (Newt Scamander) left him a Lapras Breeding pod. Being that he cared a lot for Mr Newt (he was Armin's big bi wizard crush), he took it upon himself to try and carry out Newt's ideal of helping to restore the Lapras population.

For a long while, Armin kept his Lapras pod on Island four of the Sevii Islands (while he worked at the aforementioned Marine Research center), until Team Rocket did a crime and stole his pod. Luckily for Armin, he's endeared himself to several rockets (outside of his knowledge), so those individuals helped him regain his pod. That incident though made him realise he needed a better way of keeping his Lapras, which made him finally apply to have his own gym. Said gym has now been built and Armin is now a full-time gym leader of the Pelagic gym (themed around underwater battle) and uses his free time to breed more lapras, play boardgames with his girlfriend, and be far too active on the network.

Did I mention he has a girlfriend? Because he does, and it dazzles him still.

Looking for: I'm always open to new friendships for Armin, especially any that can introduce him to new cultures/points of view that he has not considered before. He's lost a lot of friends of the years, so I'd love to fill some of those gaps back up again. He's also been here long enough that he's been slowly transferring into more of a question-answering force on the network than a question-asking one. So if your character ever has any questions, Armin will be happy to entertain them

What I'd like to focus on with Armin this year is Aurora League stuff. (he is the sort that needs some over-arching goal when being played) Obviously, something is Going On and Armin feels that as a gym leader, he's got a responsibility to the people here to help figure that out.

Currently, my plan is to have him contact all members of the Aurora League sometime soon (preferably this week if I can hack it) to invite them for a meet-up, which will be partially aimed at getting to know everyone (they've gotten a lot of new faces!) and partially to see if anyone has any thoughts about the weird message in the sky and the Safari Zone incident.

(this might also involve an avenue where the Aurora League members can battle each other if they want for fun and relaxation.)

So yeah, specifically to any Aurora League members, I'd love to hear what you think of this and if you are down for it.

Cliffnotes: Jaskier is the typical bard you see in D&D or RPGs. Flashy, loud, in love with his own voice, wordy, a peacock, a lover of fine wine, wine food and fine clothing; and obviously, thirsty af. He's a social butterfly and easy to befriend, ask him any random question and he'll gladly chat with you for days (most probably also flirt for days). In VR, he's having fun exploring a new realm and catching Pokémon that can perform with him. His training of his team is very laid-back, and it should be mentioned he's a breeder, but he only does the egg thing when he has some time to spare and wants the money. It's definitely not a priority for him. This month he'll be participating in contests, he'll also start his presence online. He's a poet and singer, so he'll be filming himself singing for Staryutube and self-publishing all his works on Abomazon. He and Geralt (his travel companion) are also starting a little inks and quills business, both things made from natural resources (feathers from bird Pokémon for the quills, leaves/pollen/etc from Grass-types for the inks).

Looking for: Everything! Friends that like to have fun and explore new things, have new experiences (like new food, play around with technology, go to the movies and/or theatre, etc). People that will tell him stories he can transform into songs (they can be stories from VR or from canon). Flings (heads up, he's 40yo. I don't mind age differences but I'll respect any and every ooc boundary when it comes to his flirting, just let me know! he sticks to around 22+). People that will chat about art with him, or even be a fan of his work once he puts it on the internet. People to have philosophical chats with, be truly deep or silly "is cereal soup?" stuff. People he can try to convince to befriend Geralt because even in this world he wants his BFF to have a better reputation (speaking of, anyone that has seen them around on the network or the cities are welcome to tease them for basically behaving like an old married couple, we live for that shit). People that can rile him up, he's easy to offend if you know where to strike.

Cliffnotes: Romelle is basically the voice of the viewer... pointing out how weird things are and making sure the other characters know that, "Hey, this should be causing more concern than you're showing!" She asks a lot of questions, and has had a fairly sheltered life on an isolated colony where she was kept in hiding for "protection". She's not really keen on crazy shenanigans, but she's slowly learning that, sometimes, they happen, and you just have to roll with it. She's also not human, so a lot of human customs will definitely be weird for her, and she's going to be so confused between Poké-sayings and Earth sayings, so be prepared for some weird turns of phrase.
Looking for: I'm trying to get Romelle started on her gym journey in Johto. I need to write up some challenge posts, but, that aside, she'll take help from people... whether through practice battle challenges or help with level grinding. I'm also open to negative CR if people want to make her a rival or something.

Cliffnotes: Marvus is a troll (a bug alien from a very violent culture) because I am really leaning in to my old Homestuck fandom roots here. He's one of the juggalo trolls, i.e. an upper class troll with blood that is literally purple and who partakes in a clown-based religion. He's incredibly friendly and easygoing for a troll, which is in part due to the complicated troll romance system, as he likes the codependent friends romance quadrant (pale/moirallegiance) a lot and does it at everybody. Marvus in particular is a famous rapper at home, and will be trying to become a local influencer.
Looking for: Completely new so technically looking for anything. However, Marvus will be most interested in people who might already have a level of local fame, people who are involved in Entertainment, and uh. Disasters. Disaster people. Because of the Pale Romance thing. He's more interested in people who are struggling to make a life, especially if it's in an interesting way.

Cliffnotes: Dirk has a huge ego, an absolutely nightmarish degree of self loathing, and an unshakeable belief in the fictional (not "real") nature of Victory Road. Having come from a canon where he literally played a video game and then became the prose-format author of the dubiously postcanon works, including getting all up in the literal code of some of the visual novels, where he also speaks directly to the player through the narrative.... it's just what he's turned into, these days. He sounds like he's off his rocker a lot of the time. He also joined Team Rocket voluntarily for meta reasons, but also has zero investment in leading a dual life or disguising his actions (unless you're his canonmate, which I assume you are not.) He's actually beaten the Elite Four and is opening a gym in Saffron at the end of January.... he's just a busy, busy guy!
Looking for: Dirk needs to interact with people who aren't his close circle, honestly. He's really good at generating negative CR, mostly.... but he's always looking to experiment with new strategies when battling, actually enjoys riding his Rapidash around Kanto and Johto, and... uh. Man. I don't know. He shows up for any major event because he knows Plot might happen, and he usually tries to misbehave in some way when he gets there.

Cliffnotes: Karako is a young Troll who is trying to make his way through life as an independent young Clown. He's nonverbal, capable of orally producing only the distinct sound of a bicycle horn. This is because he's a Runt, and should have been culled as a grub. He... never quite made it, not the least because after playing a gig in Beach City and falling in love with the one person who attended his concert (Rose Quartz, gorgeous space babe) he decided to stay there instead of traveling the rest of the way to New York Empire City. He fucked around for about a year as his money ran out, then got responsible and took a job at a car wash, which he'd later come to own. Rose died bringing their son, Steven, into the world; it was very sad and he never quite got over her. He's spent roughly twenty years living in his van, even after the royalties came in from that tune his ex-manager, Marty, sold to a burger joint.

In Victory Road, Greg's been reunited with Rose after sixteen years without her and the two of them are living the life of nomads in their caravan which reads MR AND MRS UNIVERSE on the side. They drift into town, play music, and make friends with the locals and local pokemon. They also got married in a private ceremony in the woods, so Rose is also his legal wife and not just his common law wife now. The two of them spent most of the autumn helping Kazuki build his new rehab center.

Looking for: Other parents to bond with? His son might not be here, but Greg is still very much a Dad. Other musicians to jam with. Possibly he'll try to cut an album at some point? Possibly he'll also go Breeder. I'm not sure. Greg is really chill about the whole pokemon journey thing and doesn't tend to look for new Pokemon much. And he doesn't battle. I'm not entirely sure how to get him to be more serious about things and also I'm not entirely sure if I'd want to.

Cliffnotes: So Heather has been around here for-fucking-ever and has grown from a freshly-traumatized Disaster Teen to an actually-relatively-stable young adult-- she's now in her mid-to-late twenties and a freaking Aurora League Champion! Just... don't ask her why she doesn't have a gym yet. It's... it's coming, she swears.
Personality-wise, Heather is still a little rough around the edges even if she's calmed down a lot-- she holds no compunctions about throwing a punch when one feels necessary (or just... satisfying), and lives firmly by the "Do no harm, but take no shit" school of thought, with emphasis on the latter. But if you're not a total dick, she's not hard to get along with. She likes to have a good time and isn't really a stickler for rules-- she may not be a JUVENILE delinquent anymore, but raising some hell and busting some heads is her specialty! Call her if you accidentally pissed off one of those Cueballs on Cycling Road and need someone to show up with a baseball bat and a very angry monkey.
Just... don't expect her to open up about the dark past. Nobody wants to hear about her Freudian nightmare dumpster fire of a backstory (right?).
Looking for: At this point, most of Heather's close CR outside of her boy(?)friend are gone, and as a result she's been a little bit reclusive-- throwing herself into travelling without taking much time to actually update anybody on what she's been up to. So she could honestly use a major social-circle jumpstart.
Need a rival? She's a walking entity of sass and is tough enough to give you a run for your money-- in a Pokemon battle OR otherwise! Need a mentor? She's got a soft spot for kids (especially ones from similarly-troubled backgrounds) and isn't bad on the teaching front (aside from the obvious physical combat opportunities, she's a certified Horse Girl (tm) so she's your gal if you want some equestrian lessons). Cliffnotes: Felix is a born warrior from a medieval-ish style fantasy world, from a country where knighthood and honor and chivalry are Big Deals, but he hates the concepts for Complicated Tragic Backstory Reasons. He's a prickly pear, doesn't like talking to people, and doesn't make friends easily, but he has a few interests that can supersede that: swords and sparring, cats, music, and spicy food. If you can get past the hard, spiky shell, Felix actually cares about people a lot and will protect innocents and stop injustices without being asked, even if he's surly about it. If he's yelling at you for doing something he thinks is stupid, he probably likes you.

Since coming here he's mellowed...a little, due entirely to two of his best friends (Sylvain and Dimitri) already being here.

Looking for: Felix is always looking for trainer battle challenges from basically anyone as long as their Pokemon aren't so high-leveled that it's pointless (he just got here a few weeks ago and is still working on growing and training his team). He would also love new sparring partners, even if wooden training weapons are all that's available. As a result of all of this, Claude is intensely anti-racism and anti-xenophobia, tends to keep a lot of secrets, prioritizes learning and diplomacy and understanding between people, and is also...way more casual than you'd expect a medieval-era prince to be, coming from a more "formality be damned" warrior culture than your standard European-esque royalty.
Looking for: Honestly Claude is very much open to anything! He literally wants to learn all about all kinds of people, since his own personal dream involves people being open to learning and appreciating the differences between countries and cultures.

Cliffnotes: Started out as human but was turned into a half-yoma "warrior of the Organization" (humans call them Claymores, silver-eyed witches, and worse names) at some point as a child after something terrible happened to her/her family. Cassandra turned out to be a powerful warrior - she was ranked at Number One after surviving her final exam - but her special fighting technique, which she came up with on the spur of the moment to save her fellow warriors, was considered ugly and strange by them, so they rejected her, and she stuck to solo missions from then on. She was later befriended/seduced by another warrior, who turned out to be a serial technique-stealer and murderer, who in a first rejected Cassandra's technique as "too ugly." Then she came back and murdered the one actual friend Cassandra managed to make and arranged Cassandra's own death shortly thereafter. Naturally, the Organization decided it would be a really good idea to resurrect Cassandra and her murderer at the same time; this unsurprisingly went poorly for just about everyone, although Cassandra did get to turn into a giant cannibalistic monster and eat her murderer, so yay?

Needless to say, Cassanda has some trust issues.

Looking for: Cassandra's been a bit directionless lately, and has lost some CR, so I'd like her to get more involved in general, and maybe find some kind of purpose once she eventually finishes earning badges and such. She's used to seeing herself as nothing more than a weapon (and still doesn't really see herself as human and probably won't for a while, if ever), so getting her to see herself as more of a person would also be good. Mostly she wants to be more than she was allowed to be.

While the werewolf and small business owner parts aren't quite so applicable here (except, you know, all the baggage from being a werewolf from an urban fantasy setting where the existence of werewolves is well-known but they're not seen very favorably), that last part is because his kid, Chip, is also here! This is particularly relevant because their presence has a lot of impact on Grant's day-to-day activities, and also because Grant's opinions on other adults are heavily impacted by how they treat Chip.

Looking for: For one thing, Grant is finally actually getting into the whole Pokemon breeding thing! He's asked the network for advice on that, and will be doing some research in the library when his traveling group hits Goldenrod in a bit.
