And, hm, let's see. The last place I visited was called Venezia, a city surrounded by canals and overwhelmed by the sea. The smell was... particularly memorable, I must admit, but the way the gondolas went up and down the water sticks in my head quite clearly.

Yes, it is a kind of boat. A very small one, pushed along the canals by a man holding a long pole. And I am lucky enough to have never gotten seasick, though I don't want to take too many chances.

Well, given what I know and heard of Whitney, my strategy there is that I need to impress her with both strength and cuteness. So... I'm gonna try to find a really cute Pokemon that I can catch and offer as a gift! She gets the cute Pokemon, and I get to show off how strong I was by catching it!

Pretty sure I saw a movie like that once. Or read a comic, or something. Might've been a dude zombie, though. Either way I'm guessing the rotting meat smell would be kind of a turn off.

[ Mina feels like she was rudely awakened, sitting up on the bed and looking around for a moment. Until she realizes she is not in her room - far too little hot pink and purple; plus no animal prints? - but before she can be as surprised as she wants to be, some lady is pretty much telling her to head out.

Wondering if she may have gotten hurt and someone took her in - she doesn't remember any of that though - Mina slowly obeys until halfway through she finally snaps out of it. Before she does, however, she is shoved out of the door. ] Hey!! Hey, lady-!!

[ what what WHAT W H A T

quickly she bangs on the door ] What's happening?! Hey!! [ and that's when she notices a weird plant that seems to have eyes and a mouth and is staring at her. Mina looks at it, then looks around, and then looks back at it - and then the pokémon speaks ] Mareanie.

Ah, it speaks. [ Mina whispers that. What... is she meant to do here? maybe this is someone with a quirk, yeah ] Hi! I'm Mina Ashido! Can you help me? I'm so lost, and I woke up in this lady's house but she kicked me out before answering any of my questions and--

Mareanie!

[ Mina stops talking. Maybe this is a child? What does she do?? Quickly looking around, she spots the first person passing by before she starts waving frantically ] Hey!! Is this your kid?!

Violet City
[ Despite the rocky start, Mina eventually starts understanding what is happening. Well, sort of. She understands Mareanie is NOT a lost child but a creature called Pokémon, it's now apparently attached to her, and there is a whole culture of training all the Pokémons and use them to battle and collect them all. These Pokémon live inside balls (w h a t) and eat berries. Or each other. It's bizarre, but Mina isn't one to judge.

What's bizarre is that she was brought to this place without an explanation, and basically now she is meant to just go out there and explore it - again, without any explanation. It's also bizarre that she has to walk for days on end to get to the next town! It has taken her over a week, and it sure doesn't help she did get distracted with cute pokémon mid-journey, but don't these people have public transportation?

She is finally at Violet City and she decides to rest her feet while Mareanie id still close to her, allowing Mina to pet them and feed them some of the food she managed to get along the way. ]

Hmm... making you fight seems pretty cruel . [ she pouts before her petting basically turns into a huge ] You are too cute to get hurt like that!! [ Mareanie replies by repeating its own name ] And I should name you, right? Can I name you? [ Mina decides to dig through her backpack, trying to find the guide again, and taking the chance to basically just take everything out ] I really need to find decent clothes, too- [ all of them are so boring ] Maybe I can find you some clothes as well? I wonder if pokémon wear them. [ Mina, no. ]
