To my understanding, there's over 800 pokémon known by the native people, including some living legends- though with the technology of today, even they have been caught on video or photography at least once. It sounds quite daunting, but also exciting!

Pictures can only tell you so much, even the very good ones. To see such things in person, that's a very different sort of experience. Much rarer, but also much more valuable. To me, at least.

[Whoops, he's babbling! Quick, get back on topic!]
Ah, mi dispiace, I got carried away for a moment. What are these cars and trucks you've mentioned? Different sorts of transportation, perhaps?

Cars and trucks are methods of transportation, yes. They both follow the same mechanics, though trucks are more powerful due to carrying heavier loads and over greater distances. They're motor-powered vehicles that are almost fully automated- though admittedly, some cars don't require human drivers. Their driver sits within near the front and uses a steering wheel to direct where it goes.

(unseen: me furiously googling everything)
Is there something coming up?
lmfao i'm sorry
Even better! There is nothing coming up, which means there's even more that must be done! I will go out there and see these pokemon and how they live, capture their likenesses if I can. I have so much to learn and time enough to learn it, I couldn't ask for more.
i brought this upon myself honestly.

[ Man, she sure is taking all of this and everything not said in stride. ]
I'd love to see your work, sometime.
first page google results should do the trick

I've found that the innkeepers and most shops welcome us 'off worlders' as employees for brief times- so as to not conflict too much with our travels, should we choose- but it's not quite enough at times.

[He's kidding... right?]
In any case, it's amazing how thin one's coinpurse can feel once you need to spend some of it.

Oh- if I may, I'm rather curious. What pokémon was at your side when you arrived?

A little on the nose, if you ask me.

[ A puppy in a beret? Instant twitter fame. And one might see a small white fox poke it's head up over her shoulder. Hey. You talkin bout starters? ]
I've noticed some of the companions people receive from the start are... oddly fitting, yes. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not though.

[A moment, please, as he tries to find the camera function. He's very careful as he holds the Gear, trying to keep it steady, and he knows that this light can't possibly be ideal, not with all these trees around, but-- well, it will have to do for now.
And, indeed, there appears to be a three foot high dog, standing on two legs, covered in soft white fur with greenish accents, currently holding his long tail as though it were a paintbrush, smearing what appears to be equally green ink onto a nearby tree--]
Ah! There we have it! [He sounds like he's smiling.] The little Maestro is hard at work, it seems.
[He turns the video off before he speaks again, wary of how it might jolt the camera, make it hard to see.]
Hm, there are many possibilities as to why. Perhaps the same force which brings us here also chooses our initial companion?

[ Congratulations and thank you for delighting the teenager, Leonardo. You did good. ]
That's what I thought as well, actually.
