Don't stand behind me like that! Not while I'm working! [He starts grumbling at his drawing.] Bah, these lines will never do! Much too thick, I'll have to--
[Oh, she's still here. He's still a bit peeved, but he's finally noticed she's there, and scrambles to right himself and store his notebook before anything else should happen to it.]
What is it you want, a drawing? Why do you think this drawing would help you reclaim your memory?
no subject
[She hurries around to stand in front of him instead, although she's still trying to peer at the drawing upside-down now.]
Well, it stands to reason I must have looked at myself in the mirror all the time, right? So if I stare at a drawing of myself, it's just like looking into a mirror! Maybe it will remind me of...well, anything. How did you learn to draw like that, anyway?
no subject
But I do not know if my drawings would be of any help, skilled though they might be. You see, I will only know you as you are now, not who you might have been before. I couldn't include any additional clues.
no subject
[She tilts her head, thinking about his concern.]
Hmm, you've got a point there. Ah well, back to the drawing board! --ha, drawing board, get it? Oh, I slay me.
Anyway, how do you remember things when you forget them? Any tips you'd like to share, Mr...wait, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Morgan! Who are you?
no subject
And if I have forgotten something, then I will write a little note about it, so that I might think of it again later.
And if I still cannot remember, then, well, it must not have been very important to begin with and I'm sure someone else will remind me.
It's very nice to meet you. My name is Leonardo.
no subject
Ooh, what a fun name to say! Leonardo. [She says it with a flourish of her hands.]
Anyway, I'd hope most of my life and everyone I ever knew were pretty important! But it would be nice to run into someone who could remind me.
Oh, but that's a good idea--writing everything down in a notebook! I should keep a journal and write in it every day, just in case I forget again. Man, why didn't I think of that before I lost all my marbles?
no subject
In that case, I suspect that your friends will remind you when you encounter them again. And until then, fill your life up with pleasant things, so that you have new wonderful memories to make.
no subject
You know, you're right. I will run into someone who knows me, sooner or later. And I already have started making new wonderful memories--like this one, with you! Hey, you know what else would be a new wonderful memory?
[She waits long enough that he might start to respond and then goes on immediately before he can--]
If you drew a picture of me!
no subject
If I drew a picture of you?
[He smiles and goes to retrieve his notebooks, pencils, and charcoal from the various pockets and backpack they've ended up in.]
Alright. Please, make yourself comfortable. This may take a little while.
[He waits for her to settle, or as close as someone as energetic as her might be capable of, before he starts bringing pencil to paper. He draws with thin lines that follow the light, darkest where the shadows dwell.]
no subject
Did you come from another world like most people around here? What's your world like?--oops, talking isn't going to ruin the picture, is it?
no subject
[All the movement just gives the work more character. Indeed, he feels as though his sketch wouldn't show her personality enough if it didn't seem as though she might leap off the page at any moment.]
And, hm, let's see. The last place I visited was called Venezia, a city surrounded by canals and overwhelmed by the sea. The smell was... particularly memorable, I must admit, but the way the gondolas went up and down the water sticks in my head quite clearly.
no subject
Ooh, is a gondola a kind of boat? I've never been on a boat before. Or at least, I don't remember ever having been on a boat before. I can't wait to try it! Hopefully I'm not the type to get seasick, haha. Or canalsick. I'd hate to drive you away by doing something gross like throwing up!
no subject
[It's okay, he can handle the chatter. He's a bit of a chatterbox himself.]
