[ For a second, Byleth just gawks, still looking kind of pale from their panic attack. Half at the apple crawling away from this unfamiliar girl, half at said girl's attire. They don't quite recognize it, but something about it smacks of home, just a little bit, so...they feel alright approaching her.

Her question gets a wordless nod, though, rather than any spoken acknowledgement. They opt to examine the apple...lizard...thing first. As Byleth kneels down to get a better look, the meek Ralts on their shoulder leans forward from his hiding spot under his trainer's hair and reaches a tiny arm out to poke the poor Applin, though from his perch he's much too far to make contact.

When they do speak, it's just one word, while they point at the pokemon on the bench in a somewhat comical mirroring of their starter.]
