Hey, careful--!

[Is Doppio more comfortable politely asking Risotto not to hurt Cristina, or is he just relieved to be able to breathe again and celebrating by doing one of the many things that oxygen allows one to do, such as Speaking? It's mostly the latter, actually, but it wouldn't be fair to completely discount the former.

His relief is short-lived, though, because then Risotto is throwing Cristina right back at him, and sure, she won't hurt him, but she certainly is impairing his vision. Significantly, what with her little feet scrambling to climb to the top of his head and lightly (harmlessly, he may notice later) scratching his eyelids in the process.]

Cri-- Hey, hey, come on, turn around!

[SHE'S TRYING, okay. Her fur bristles as she chirps irritably, and the way the light reflects off of it almost makes it look like it's turning a different colour.]

[ 'Careful'? That's a ridiculous thing to say to someone that's trying to throw a weapon at you. The vague curiosity about whether or not this strange rodent is more than just a weapon or not comes and goes about as quickly as the realization that Risotto is not remotely guaranteed the upper hand just because he's bigger and stronger and has practiced killing people for ten years.

Because this place has weird rules that he's still learning, and maybe he was too quick to engage. But he can't very well retreat the way he used to be able to, either, so...

Risotto considers using his own pokemon, which seems like a terrible idea because it means those are several seconds he can't spend trying to kill Doppio physically with his hands, but if it turns out this little thing is actually dangerous...

He grunts with both effort and frustration as he just doubles down on attacking personally. Pen gripped in his fist, hand gripping for the front of Doppio's shirt, Risotto is doing his level best to just stab him in the throat like he's being paid for it, okay. Yes, with a pen. He's killed people with stranger objects. ]

[Cristina successfully scrambles up to the top of Doppio's head and slips down his back without getting much more irritated, which is good. Risotto may be bigger than him, but Doppio isn't opposed to using a Pokémon's abilities on a human being.

Then Doppio notices Risotto's fist, and what's in it, and the motion it's coming down in--]

Wait, wait, wait, wait!

[His voice cracks. The attack connects.

Everything turns blinding white, at least for Doppio. He's not sure if that's just a For Him thing, because this has never happened to him before, and for the next little moment, he's a little too indisposed to think about it anyway. Of course, as far as he can tell, it passes in the blink of an eye, and then he can finally confirm first-hand what he's heard about severe acts of violence in this world...

But perhaps more importantly to Risotto, Doppio and his Morpeko have vanished without a trace.]

[ Is as far as Risotto gets into lecturing Doppio for wasting his last few moments pleading. For what, exactly? There wasn't room or time for mercy where they both came from, and it's unlikely Doppio was about to buy his life with favors.

But then that wait seems prophetic in some impossible, unknown way. Risotto reflexively closes his eyes and flinches from the bright light - there's a flare as if something's been reset or glitched out a light bulb flashed before dying and then the room is perfectly normal, and...

...And Doppio is nowhere to be found. ]

...Where are you. [ Risotto assumes a trick, at first - he looks for signs of that pokemon or its container, checks in front of himself like a blind man in case Doppio's merely invisible, but it's not long before Risotto suspects this...may be exactly as it seems. Does this mean he killed Doppio, is that how death is handled here? Or did the man teleport away?

Risotto finds he isn't sure, but...after briefly picking the room apart for any clues (about what, even he isn't sure - if the Boss is with Doppio, mostly), Risotto does what he does best:

retreats until he can learn more about the situation. ]
