Great! I should probably get back on the road so you don't have to come so far to meet me. Dusky, do you mind?

[ The nice thing about having a levitating Pokemon buddy is that they're a free cameraman. Duskull gladly takes the device so Rainer's hands are free to keep pushing herself along. ]

So, have you been here long? I feel like it hasn't been that long since I saw you, back in Nua.

It's... been a month or so? Honestly, I lost track of time. But if that's the case... [He trails off for a moment, HMMM...] Maybe time moves differently here than what we're used to? Or... I don't know, something like that.

At the very least, I'm not travelling alone here. Though I have a feeling you'll get along quite well with Morgan and perhaps I'll stop earning new nicknames for a moment or two. Leonardo at least is good company, as well. [HE SHAN'T SAY MORE ON THAT, THANK YOU.]

[ At this point, Duskull gets a little bored of filming Rainer, so he begins to pan the camera to capture the beautiful Route 29 scenery. Ah, well. You get what you pay for. ]

Have they been treating you alright? A month is an awful long time to be stuck somewhere by yourself. I know you said Argo was here, but...

Other than having to... rough it... for a bit, it's been fairly well otherwise. This place is pretty safe even in the most wild parts of it, as you might have already noticed.

There was a huge dance... thing... that lasted a whole weekend not terribly long ago. I'd say a very small number of people were worth mentioning in their outfits.

Roughing it isn't so bad, I suppose. Not what I'd prefer, but oh well. I can make do.

[ She already had to camp out one night on the road from New Bark Town to Cherrygrove. She's just glad the only one there to hear her complain was Dusky. ]

Between myself and Snippers 2.0 and our coordinated outfits, of course we were. [That's some real embellishment of the truth there, but whatever, it's not like Rainer's going to actually check on that detail.

Uuuugh. I'd say it gets better, but as far as I'm aware, most everyone tends to do the... camping... bit... until they get settled doing whatever it is they want to do. Which seems to be breeding these creatures or beating the tar out of the "elite" trainers here. I have no interest in either, frankly.

[ She laughs, and Dusky laughs too, even though he definitely doesn't have the context to know why he's laughing. ]

Hmm... Well I'm sure we'll figure out a way to spend our time until we can find a way back to Nua. I always said I wanted to do some traveling after I finished school!

I doubt it was like this. But on the... plus side of it, at least no one seems to die here, person or creature. The battles between creatures is only between them and even then they only go until one faints. It's... rather restrained.

[ She stops in her tracks. Duskull, not noticing right away, keeps floating along until Rainer reaches out to tug on his little tail thingy. ]

No, Dusky, wait-- over here!

[ She waits until her Pokemon turns around so she's back on camera, looking dead serious (hah). ]

What do you mean no one dies here?!

[Oh, right. Somehow he forgot for a brief moment that that might be a shock to a necromancer.

Evidently, if someone dies here, they pop back up in the Pokemon Center. Perfectly fine. I haven't tested that myself for obvious reasons. But it's the same concept with the creatures here.

They pop back up... dead, right? This Pokemon Center is staffed by necromancers, reanimating people?

[ That's what he means, right? That's got to be what he means. PLEASE TELL HER THAT'S WHAT HE MEANS. ]

I don't really understand how it works, either. But that's what I've heard from people who've been here far longer than I have. I vaguely recall hearing the name Arceus or... something... similar, who's to blame for all of it.

I think it's their god here. Take it up with him/her/them?

Honestly, that might not be a bad thing to look into in general, now that I think about it...

[ She keeps forgetting about the "no magic" thing. ]

Nnnno? The line is that they're related but they all look exactly the same. And there's no magic at all! So I don't know how they could multiply or teleport like that. And there's one in every single town.

I thought you said each town has a teleportation circle?

It's one thing to look like your relatives, but it's another thing to name everyone in your family the same name.

It does, but there's also a lot of towns! And it's... not necessarily instant, it's a rather imperfect "science".

Whenever we get into Cherrygrove, I'll show you what I mean. All the same name. All look the same. You'll see.
