Stuck sounds about right to me, though there are much worse places to find yourself stuck inside.

I've only been here for about a month or so, though, so I may not be the best source for information about how this land operates.

That's true! I guess if I have to be stuck somewhere, it's not all that bad a place to be stuck. At least here there are no monsters or demons or anything trying to end the world!

That would depend on what you consider a monster, as there are many strange creatures here. Though none of them have attempted to end the world.

As far as I'm aware, at least.

Oh, yeah! I guess you're right! I was thinking of them more like animals or semi-sapient creatures. None of them seem to be able to talk much, besides saying one word over and over again.

I think that one word might be the name of their species? At least, that is what the index suggests.

Oh? Yeah, now that you mention it, that would make sense! I hadn't thought to try looking in the index, but it would explain why my Duskull keeps saying "Duskull!"

The index tends to come in very handy. It even has a special setting that lets you see the creature in question's footprints!

Oh, like a kind of Survival spell! That's got to come in useful for tracking them down!

How do these spells of yours work? Where I am from, there are many who claim to have such abilities, but... well, their claims are often only that.

Well, Survival is more of a skill than a spell, traditionally speaking. But there are spells that increase certain skills. I don't see why there couldn't be one to help with survival skills! I don't know of any by name... It's not exactly my area of study.

I'm a necromancer!

Do you raise the dead or merely speak with them?

Good question! Both, though I tend to focus on animals more than people, so they don't really have much to say. I'm still a student.

Or, well, I was a student.

I understand what you mean. I study anatomy, which is much easier when the subjects involved are already dead.

Oh, yeah yeah! Living beings are so much harder to study the anatomy of. They just squirm SO MUCH! And they totally freak out when knives are involved.

I've got to ask, though, from a necromancer to an anatomist... What's your favorite bone? I think mine's the pelvis bone!

I'm most fond of the collar bone, especially the way it adds shape to the muscles that attach to it.

Ooh! Collar bone is also a good one! I don't really bother with muscles much, since all that stuff tends to decompose pretty quickly after death, but I can definitely see why the muscles around the collar bone would be eye catching!

It makes studying internal organs and their purpose so difficult. How can you understand how the heart is meant to pump blood if you do not see this blood pumping in motion?

That definitely would make it harder, wouldn't it... I've never really gotten into studying how a living body functions, since I'm a necromancer and not a healer. I only deal with things after they die.

As most of my subjects are alive at the time, I unfortunately must work within the realm of the living.

Subjects? Are you an artist? Or... A king, maybe? The word 'subjects' could mean some very different things.

I happen to be an artist! I study anatomy so that I can make my figures more realistic when it comes to their proportions.

That's really cool! I don't think I'v ever met an accomplished artist before!
