Well, miqo'te usually have more feline ears and tails - the latter of which is rather disorienting when you must suddenly go without. And there are usually markings on my face? Right here. [And he taps either side of the bridge of his nose, near his eyes.] I'm not exactly versed in regaining lost appendages, sadly, so I've decided to make due, but it is shockingly difficult.

Well, my - no, I...my skill in magic has nothing to do with that! Most peoples can learn the art of spellcraft where I am from. [Save for Garleans and those who just didn't have a knack for it - but even the latter could do some aetherical manipulation. After all, Aetherytes are fairly common.]

Normally, one would cast with one's own aether and through a focus, such as a tome or a staff. It can wear you out fairly easily, though - especially if you're not used to it.

Most everybody can do a little bit of magic. Though I have noticed I lack the ability here...

But humans have to like...you gotta make circles and get stuff to be symbols for everything about the magic. Just thinking it real is like, dragon stuff, and angels and demons and fae!

Nope, just the Paliens. 'Cept it's not even really magic, they're all espers!! [Chip is nearly vibrating in place from the hype, and Lazzo rolls his eyes from atop their head. Here we go again...] Sometimes we get turned back to normal for a while, and I got a Palien then, like a real Palien 'stead of how they are here, and I couldn't see any of their stuff, so they gotta be psychic!!

Oh, psychic, esper, okay, that tripped him up for a second. So many new terms for things, so many new concepts...]

So fauna like these are normal? That...is honestly the least confusing thing about this world so far.

[Eorzea had plenty of voidsent with powers, and creatures that just Existed with powers, and - well, Pokemon remind him more of the beast tribes than mere beasts, so it's been a very strange experience so far.]

Though I do find it intriguing that the norm is to have them fight each other, rather than defend oneself...[Hold on, he's having a think right now.] But considering how ubiquitous they seem in society, and how their roles seem to fluxuate, would a human defending oneself not be seen as that? And then there are the battles for sport...

[He's just. This is all very new to him, he's still learning.]

Faun... [Chip has a blank look for a few moments before the word catches up with them--Claude and Grant have used it a few times, enough that they figured out it's fancy-talk for 'animal'.] Oh, not where I'm from. I just know about it 'cuz of the games and stuff. And they fight 'cuz they wanna get stronger, duh!!

So this is...a sort of game? I'm...perhaps you ought to start at the beginning, I feel like I'm missing something.

[They pull out their Gear and start fiddling with it, still talking while they do. They've gotten really good at explaining this!]

It's like...uh, like a little play that happens on the 'Pad, except you get to tell it how it goes! The Paliens game at home was my favorite, and they made a cartoon about it, too!

[Now they hand over the Gear to G'raha, which has the start screen for Amuk Us with colorful little Grimer buddies drifting around.]

But it's not a game here, it's for real! But a lot of how it works is the same.

[Oh he absolutely kneels down to get a closer look, listening attentively to all of this...very new and wonderous information. Games? Games like plays on a device? That you control? Cartoons, what is a cartoon?

He looks a little lost when he's holding Chip's 'gear, not really sure how Amuk Us factors into all of this, but it sure is colorful.]

Interesting...and these games are available to everyone?

[The Litten has come over to look at the vidyas. Their stare is unreadable.]

[That's fine, Chip will just let G'raha mess with their Gear as much as he likes. He's a superhero, they can totally trust him with all of their personally identifying and financial information!]

Yeah! Some of them you gotta pay for to play them, but there's a lot of free ones, too.

[--oh, catte. Chip looks down at the Litten, then crouches to hold out their hand to let it sniff. Will they be allowed to pet...?]

[Gods, no, he would not spend a child's money on gacha pulls, he'd spend his own money on those.]

Who exactly do you pay in order to play them...? There isn't any place to put your coin in this device.

[Honey it's not a machine at the Gold Saucer it doesn't work like that!!

The Pad keeps track of the money with your account. It's like, um... [Chip frowns for a moment while they think.] The bank keeps track of everybody's money, and the Pad can ask them how much you have and give it to the people that made the game. I think? I don't know all of how it works...

Is it not easier to hold onto one's own money?

[Like sure he knows what banks are there's probably banks in Eorzea but also...adventurers just probably keep all their cash in their pockets to plunk down in bags at the bars they go to at the end of a long journey or somesuch. Still, he shrugs - if that's how this place works, then he'll have to learn its ways.]

Hm...well, even so, I suppose I shall have to make use of these free games and experience them on my own time. [Here is your 'gear back, Chip!] Thank you for showing them to me.

[demonpuppy]

I mean, rich people have, like, infinite money? So probably not.

[They take the Gear back with a happy grin, shoving it back into their pocket.] No problem! I like helping, so...!

The rich are certainly not the norm in this scenario. [But he smiles anyway. Who cares about the 1%, they're not here to flaunt their gil.] But helping is a wonderful thing to enjoy. Pray keep that a mainstay in your heart - it is most certainly a trait any world is always in need of.

[G'raha chuckles, a bright sound.] That's good to hear! Though I will also advise that you take your rest if you need it. After all, if you're tired, you cannot well provide the most help, can you?
