[It may be only by virtue of no longer being a Grunt, but Doppio is, indeed, a passerby, in what might be a rare stroke of luck for him.

... That said, he is a Private. Which means he should probably do something about a Grunt getting bullied on his watch. Maybe he can do it while posing as a civilian...? There's no reason why he needs to run back to his room and change, after all. Heck, it might just unnecessarily escalate the situation.

So he approaches, so preoccupied with the duties of his lesser job that he hasn't even stopped to think and realised he may know one of the people involved from his real job.]

[Narancia looks at Doppio, not recognizing him due to not really having met Doppio before, before returning his focus to the grunt in front of him.]

This asshole tried to take my Pokemon, that's what happened!

[The grunt, for his part, is quiet, out of both fear and not wanting to out Doppio as another member to Narancia.]

Oh no, that's terrible! [The shock! Look how very genuine it is!] Are you going to take him to the police?

[Also, does he... know this guy from somewhere? He feels like he might...]

[Honestly, Narancia had no intention of getting the police involved. He still doesn’t trust them much, other world or not. Instead…]

I was going to handle him myself. [Despite what the knife says, not through murder! His plan was more or less to just leave the grunt for someone else to find, possibly after roughing him up a bit. Honestly, it’s amazing Narancia hasn’t gotten to the roughing up part yet given his temper.

The grunt, for his part, is hoping Doppio will do something…]

I can handle him just fine. [Narancia's at least confident in that much, all things considered.]

It's my first time in town, but I've heard of them. They're Pokemon thieves.

[Unfortunately, or fortunately for the grunt, the conversation is enough distraction for the grunt to start trying to sneak away while Narancia's not paying attention. The distraction is brief, and Narancia is quick to notice the grunt making the escape attempt.]

Hey, get back here! [The grunt does not, in fact, get back here. He just takes off running.]

[Well, hey! Mission accomplished, sort of! Maybe he should still keep this guy busy for a bit, though - especially because the nagging feeling of recognition won't leave him...]

He'd better not... [Narancia still wants to go after the grunt, but unfortunately the grunt in question is long gone and he's in no position to track the would be thief down.]

[That Grunt was one of the guys from this world, right? They tend to be idiots, but Doppio doesn't think he'd be THAT stupid...]

Yeah, I’m still new here. I just made it to this place.

[Well, he’s been around long enough to get to Goldenrod, but the point still stands that he’s comparatively new.]

I’m Narancia. [Actually now that he thinks about it, Doppio seems to know this place.] How long have you been around?
