And who should Gatekeeper find when stepping into the brightly-lit building but the one and only (well, probably not, based on some difficult talks they've had with Dimitri) Byleth! They've stopped in here during some travel preparations; Jane has invited them to ride something called a magnet train to meet with their assigned investigation team in the region on the other side of the mountains, and apparently there's no faster way to get there than by train. Byleth has no idea what to expect from such a thing, so they're making all the preparations they can, with a little training along the way. While they're patiently waiting for something at the nurse's station, a sweet little Meowth is perched atop their shoulder, happily ogling everyone in the establishment like a curious child. The unmistakable sound of armor in motion, however, draws both his and his trainer's attention.

What follows is perhaps the most emotion Gatekeeper has ever seen on the Professor's face; a mixture of surprise and abrupt joy. They have no idea what he's doing here, or how he's doing, but he carries with him a piece of home they didn't think they'd be seeing again anytime soon. Byleth greets him eagerly, the new beating heart granted to them by Arceus fueling more of that surprising expression of feeling as they say, "It's you!"
