A - Route 29
[A lot of amazing things had happened in his life, but this had to be one of the most different, the most unbelievable- so much so that even as he sat here on a fallen log by the grass, he still couldn't quite absorb what had taken place. Woken up here, wherever here was, in a completely different shape and a completely different outfit, given a little monster and all but shoved out the door.

At least the monster was cute.]

Here, fetch!

[He threw the stick as far as he could and the Growlithe, barking happily, bounded off after it. It jumped into the brush and disappeared, rustling around for a few moments, then reappearing. With a bigger stick. Gobo laughed, taking it with a little wrestle.]

Close enough I suppose, eh?

[He scruffled the puppy's- mane? -and tolerated the licking that earned his arm.]

What am I gonna name you...

B - Vermillion City
[All you really had to say to Gobo was "acres of field and forest to explore" and he was gone. Almost literally, like. Hope someone has his PokeGear number to check on him over the next few days, because he's basically disappeared otherwise.

After enough time though he resurfaces, and anyone passing by can catch him emerging from the brush and back onto the main path leading into the city. He spends a moment to pick some of said leaf debris out of his hair and clothing, then makes some kind of note on a large piece of paper from his pocket. Carefully folding that up he heads into the city proper, as if living like a wild child for a week and a half and then dipping back into civilization was a perfectly normal thing to do.

...Then again around here, it kinda was.]

C - Network
[Man no matter how many times he does this he'll never get used to it. Okay, so this button, and then that, and- ah! Got it!]

Hey! Gobo here. So, I've got a question.

[He sits back a bit, so one can see the assorted Pokemon running around behind him. Patting his knee twice he called Growlithe over, who came after tackling a playmate down. Said Pokemon got a greeting scruffle, then Gobo looks back at the PokeGear.]

So, plenty of my other Pokemon have evolved. At first I was wonderin' about Growlithe, but I talked to someone else and figured out he needed some kinda special rock or something.

[He paused, then sighed lightly.] Only I don't know where to find it. I'm gonna guess it's not gonna be randomly on the side of the road.

And this one is especially! It's so cute. She had been told that some of them looked like actual items from home and they weren't kidding. It's interesting to see it sway as it does, eyes large and 'spirit' overflowing a little out the chip he mentions. ]

Aw, yeah, I wouldn't want to see it broken any more than it is either. But, uh. [ SNRK at that sassy little clap back at Lorenz as he speaks. ] Honestly, it has enough attitude I wouldn't be surprised if it could hold its own.

[ The Morgans sure are a trip. ...Were. Ah. She's going to have to get used to that, isn't she? ]

Of course! Feldspar would love for me to sing his praises in a new world, I'm sure. That's the vampire. Great guy, even greater alchemist. And prettier than me to boot.

[ Hopefully! Even if the stars are Pokemon instead of people, it'd still likely be a classic. ]

Ah, yes, the noir genre. He sounds like a hipster already. [ rOSIE ] But I have tons of ideas! I'm a huge sucker for comedies. I love films that can make me laugh.

You'd be correct. Sometimes you'll be able to find them on the road, but a more reliable source would be purchasing them from a department store. You'll need to save up a bit of money to buy a Fire Stone though.

[In which a space princess futilely tries to get a cave cat-turned-Silly Creature to pay for anything ever.]

[Paul is going to receive a response from a freckle-faced boy dressed in a very dapper suit. Which is honestly a bit over the top for just responding to things on the network.]

Cherrygrove is okay. It's small, not much to do there. If you want to hit any of the real big cities, you'll have to keep travelling until you hit Goldenrod City.

Oh, watch out for the nurses and cops. They are up to no good.

[Does Paul need Riz's brand of conspiracy theories this early into his journey? No. Is he getting them? Oh hell yeah.]

Oh, I'm heading to Goldenrod eventually, but I may as well stop along the pathway there and see what there is to see. We don't want to rush straight into the city until I've gotten a better sense of things.

[For Paul's part, he's changed into something a bit less...obvious. Something to help him blend into this world's environment.]

Watch out for the nurses and police. Thank you for the warning. Anything else I need to know?

[Paul speaks politely, but there's a raised eyebrow. He's taking this boy's information with a grain of salt. While he hasn't needed a Pokémon Center yet, he's stepped into them and the nurses seem friendly enough. As for law enforcement, it's always best to stay on their good side.]

Fire Stone, eh. [He thought a moment, idly skritching at Growlithe's head.] And you said it was at a department store?

[Back home, it was far from unusual for Gobo to disappear for days at a time. Even explorations that he planned to be just a couple hours sometimes went that way. But you know what was unusual back home? Monsters that spat fire or shot out electricity. Sure, it wasn't that Boober didn't find plenty to be afraid of in Fraggle Rock, but this was a whole new thing.

He tried to keep the worry in check for the first day Gobo didn't come back as planned. It... Kind of worked? He muttered to himself angrily a lot, maybe vented to his team. Then came the next morning. Two days since Gobo was supposed to come back to camp.

The bright side for Boober - if one could go that far - was that his friend's absence gave him an excuse to pack up that campsite and check into a hotel in the city. But the relief of not roughing it, even paried with fondly watching his Rotom, Nylon, hop from appliance to appliance, only provides so much comfort, and for so long a time. Really, it's a wonder Gobo's PokeGear doesn't go off sooner.]

[He stops midstep and looks down at his belt, then removed the PokeGear. Oh hey, it's Boober!

....OH CRAP IT'S BOOBER-

Nervously laughing, he answered the call.]

H-eyy-y, Boober! Look I-

[He scoffs and shakes his head.]

It doesn't make me happy. [A sigh.] Well... Sometimes I do like singing, but it always ends up being a big to-do.

[Boober shudders, glancing around. He still doesn't really understand the details, but neither being stuck nor being followed are remotely pleasant.]

Well... I don't know. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one from Fraggle Rock here. But it's still important to be careful.

[Okay, he can let out his breath, Gobo's alive. Whether or not he will still be when Boober's done with him remains to be seen, though, judging by the growling nature of the shout Gobo's greeted with. Nylon does not seem to care for that tone, as it bursts up from the microwave in surprise and starts zipping around the hotel room as Boober's frustration relents just enough for actual words to come out.]

You said you'd be back yesterday!

[Gobo is standing in the middle of the sidewalk, shoulders up and frozen, like a scolded child. He glances around and notices people and Pokemon staring at him, and laughs nervously.]

Yeah b-but- you know how I lose track of time-...

[Hold on, he's not done.]

I have been worried sick! How did I know you weren't smothered by a Grimer or blown up by a Voltorb or-or eaten by a Cramorant!

[One has to wonder what kind of nightmare fuel, giant Cramorants he thinks are out there... But that's not the point. Nor, for that matter, is making Gobo feel bad. He's not looking to shame his friend, he's just been so stressed and now he can finally expel all that nervous energy he's only just barely been holding in.

Now that he's done so, he sighs and pinches a spot low on the bridge of his nose. The effect is his voice sounding nasal on top of the usual odd quality.]

But you're okay, right? Where are you now?

[He opened his mouth to reply, tried that two or three times before sighing and just letting Boober go on his little rant. Meanwhile he's walking further into the city, if only to stop drawing so much attention to himself.]

I'm fine. I just got back into Vermillion City. I was gonna find somewhere to take a real bath.

[In the spring works to keep him from getting repellant, but man he misses soap.]

[Another sigh. He doesn't even want to think about how much of a mess Gobo must be now... At least there's sure to be a challenge in doing his laundry from the past several days. Now there's Boober's idea of a good time.]

Well, I packed up our campsite and got a hotel room. It's in the, um, the really tall building near the boats.

[Of course he picked the hotel right near the harbor. Even a fraggle who doesn't get a big kick out of diving and swimming can appreciate being on the water.]

Are you sure you're okay?

[HOTEL. Right. Those things. They've stayed in them before, usually- okay, always -at Boober's behest. But even Gobo occasionally gets tired of sleeping out under the stars.

....Okay maybe not really, but-]

I'm fine, Boober. [His tone is annoyed sure, but not without a dose of affection anyway for one of his closest friends. At least some things never change, and even with the complaining, he's happy Boober is here with him.] I really just lost track of time, and I'm genuinely sorry. And I'm not hurt, I didn't get blown up or anything. I'm gonna run by the Pokemon Center real quick, and then I'll meet you at the hotel, 'kay?

Okay. Good.

[He'll accept the apology too, he just needs some time. Anyway, the fact that Gobo's team will be getting checked out at the Pokemon Center renders his next question unnecessary, because even if Gobo's Pokemon are hurt, they won't be for long. If there's one thing Boober likes here, it's that the medical treatments are remarkable... At least for Pokemon. It's one less thing to worry about, because Boober has grown attached to these creatures, monsters though they may be.]

I'll wait for you in the lobby, so we can get you a key. Well, they call it a key, but it's just a piece of--

[Incidentally, Nylon - now at ease - is back to exploring the available electronics. It has honed in on the hotel room's television, so the call will now have some background audio... Very inconsistent background audio, mind, as the Rotom keeps switching between channels, unable to settle on one for more than half a minute. It's quite distracting.]

[Riz gets the sense this guy isn't taking his very accurate warning about the nurses and police serious, but hey, if he wants to get... something-ed by the creepily identical public servants, that is his deal.]

Well, there is Team Rocket. They've been known to target newcomers.

[ What worries him most is that he would not be able to help Gregory as well as before. Not only was he unable to provide as much protection, but needing to maintain this human body could take away from resources that Gregory would need, and he would hate to cause any kind of inconvenience for him.

And yet, Gregory's words touch something deep inside him, and he can't help a smile. ]

This is all... very confusing. [And suspicious. Sure Haga has seen his fair share of strange happenings back in Domino - spirits that rest inside artifacts, some guy that lived thousands of years who wanted to destroy the world, a stone that removes people's souls... But that doesn't change the fact he's still very skeptic about things.

But... he'll give Freddy the benefit of the doubt for now. The guy looks just as confused and uncertain about what's going on so Haga will cut him some slack. Maybe being transported to this place is making him say nonsense. Who knows at this point.]

I have to agree with you on one thing though: I also have no clue why I was brought here. I appreciate the fact they gave me an insect and all, but I'm not sure what they want me to get out of this. [Is this some kind of trial? Maybe he pushed his luck one too many times and now he's supposed to repent for the things he did wrong?]

[Yep, it's the singing bad part that worries him. This lady might not judge him but the random dock workers and passerby's sure are going to.]

I highly doubt they are going to let us in just because we offered them a song... [Either this lady is very naive or she comes from a place way too different from this one.]

As for making money with it... Unless you are good at it there's no way people are just gonna throw money at us!

[He smiles, willfully shoving aside his sadness in favor of focusing on something good.]

So you are not human normally either? [He has to wonder what, exactly, a Fraggle is. Maybe, if the other knew he wasn't a human normally either, he'd feel comfortable sharing information about being not human... and adjusting to being human.] Your home sounds a little like mine. I am from the Fazbear Mega Pizzaplex, there are many areas, with some tunnels between them. The whole place is lit up with lights and there are other Animatronics there too. We love to entertain the people that gather there, play games and put on shows.
