Ahh, that's good... they're very cute! I didn't realize how many types of pokémon there were...

( she really doesn't want to get her hopes up when she's still barely managing with everything... but she loves music and talking about it... so she points through the window. )

Have you heard a keyboard before? It's like a piano, but the sound and the play style are only similar on the surface. I play the keyboard in my band back home, with my friends.

Ehehe, you know, I've actually come across a lot of really tough kids both back home and here, too. And I guess some people still consider me one, too.

[Technically, anyway, Ochako is only six--no, seventeen now, wow. And she hears the flicker of his tone, raising a brow slightly and frowning down at her Gear. Oh boy, is this another kid that thinks they can make it on their own in this place? Boy, oh boy, he's going to have a rude awakening.]

I think everyone needs help every now and then, and you'll come to find that people here are way more willing to help than in most other places. Ehehe, it's actually sort of something I'm working to do in my world - kind of like a future job.

Trust me, I had the same reservations. It's something Pokemon actually take part in regardless of human intervention. They appear to treat it much like a sport or competition amongst themselves.

They are far smarter than the animals back home. Many seem to be able to fully understand human speech.

I realize that, but I enjoy looking after everyone. Once everyone left after the war, despite having nothing but busy days, I felt bereft. My calling is to watch over you.

No, I got lucky there. I guess they didn't think they were strong or rare enough to be worth the effort.

It's good that you didn't lose your Pokémon. I don't know how rare Trapinch is, exactly, but I'll be careful either way.

[Paul's own vengeful streak sympathizes. He'd feel the same way in that situation if his pride was hurt - glad that he didn't lose his partner, but injured and angry nonetheless.]

Your advice has been very useful. When I get to Goldenrod I'll have to find your employer. Maybe I can find a job with her. That line of work is one I think I could be helpful with.

In the world where I came from, I had to be quick on my feet to stay alive - so I'm good at noticing things. Small details in the environment, identifying poisons, reading people's body language. If there was something even slightly wrong and I missed it, it could cost me my life. I was taught how to fight people older and stronger than I am.

So yes, I think I could help.

Gregory had a good question though, because it was very strange.]

I... do not know. All I can think is... whatever had the ability to move us here so suddenly also did not want me to run out of power quickly. How I became a human is... uncertain, but I can tell this is not just a very human shell on my endoskeleton.

Well, it has been nice and all, but if you excuse us, Queenie and I have a lot of important business to attend to! [He looks around at the items scattered around the ground, noticing he didn't even put them back in his bag yet.]

Err... as soon as I get all this organized! [He crouches and begins to awkwardly stuff his things back into the backpack, with Fomantis - which is now named Queenie it seems - standing next to him.]

( Because maybe, just maybe she can see how Gregory might have been terrified by the giant animatronics chasing him around. But not really. Little kids love them! They always cheer for her at their shows! Why wouldn't they want her to chase him after the show?
