There are many who blame Arceus for the hardships they encounter here. In particular, the times Arceus allows someone close to them to return back to their world again.

There are indeed. [No, really, that's a canon thing in the anime.] And ones for humans as well, should you require one. My friend Grant actually posted a list of them on the network a few weeks ago.

[Not that she thinks Kirito needs one for the "this world is just a game thing," really not, but she doesn't know what sort of life he's had before coming here.]

Actually, yeah. If you have that list, I'd definitely like to see it. These other worlds are usually pretty tough on people and it's probably better to get to know someone ahead of time so I won't be as hesitant to talk about it.

I see. That... would be extremely difficult to deal with, I can see why they'd want to lash out and blame the easiest target for it. Is there any particular reason people have leaned towards this theory? Some sort of proof that links Arceus to some of the things that happen here?

I suggest speaking with an individual known as "Armin". He is quite knowledgeable in this world.
