I see. There are similar creatures on various worlds that I know of. Never heard of them being called that.

My role within the Galra Empire was unpleasant and I admit rather contemptible, but it allowed me the ability to eventually help the Paladins find the blue lion and contact the Blade of Marmora. It is good that they were able to help you as well. I was unaware there were other Alteans aside from Princess Allura and her advisor.

It was. The Paladins didn't even know of the Blade of Marmora before they met me.

I suppose not. Of course I never knew of one that was able to people from such different locations either. There were of course legends of gods, but nothing I ever was able to prove.

In a way, yes. In my case, it was a bit more complicated than that, but—well, I was physically changed by this world and had to relearn my own body after ending up here. It gets better in time.

Yes, sure, Jarlaxle had identified him as 'potentially dark elf', but the human facial structure might confuse the issue as to who.

"I wonder if I should just dye my hair again." Dark-skinned humans tended to have dark hair if they weren't old enough to have their hair whiten with age.

Ilphyl doesn't really really want to. They don't actually have an issue with being a dark elf, just the dominant culture of dark elves in Faerun and the idea that even in rebellion, they still are affected by stereotypes about them. Humans didn't have to deal with this shit, even in planes where non-humans existed.

Plus, they like their natural hair color.

And if I didn't wish to, I wouldn't. Beside, the supplies we're given wouldn't even last a Lalafell comfortably to the next town, I can bring more with me.

I shall stick to the northward route, then. So long as I remain on the well-traveled path, I suspect I should be easy enough to find. You shall only needs look for the fussing blue bird atop my head.

Most of them come from worlds that don't even have magic. Or anything but humans in them.

This is a very strange place then that one needs to relearn their own body. It is good to hear that it gets easier. In my world, my race had unfortunately become the most dominate in the universe so it is odd to think having to change to a race that I only saw five of in my life.

Jarlaxle chuckles. "Observant. Yes, well, when I was hardly much older than you, my hair ended up on fire--" Three times in less than a year. "--and there really wasn't much that could be done to salvage things, so I shaved it all off. And then I decided I quite liked the look and kept it that way."

He shrugs. "I suppose it's a rebellion in a way. We males are always pressured to look appealing to the women of our race and the hair is part of that. So why not remove it?"
