[The thing one has to keep in mind here is how this looks from Louie's perspective. Here's some old guy shouting things that don't really make sense, trying to enforce a level of authority he clearly doesn't have, and generally seeming just super unhinged. It's something he's seen back home, countless times...

As far as Louie is concerned, this guy is a Flintheart Glomgold type. So when the old guy turns to him, Louie has to fight back a sigh, because he knows this sort of person to just get defensive if met with any doubt.]

[honestly, the comparison to Glomgold isn't far off, aside from the fact that he's smarter than your Uncle Scrooge, never mind smarter than Glomgold. the blustering and the complicated schemes, though? thoroughly valid.]

[Louie sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. One of his favorite things about being here in Johto is that, overall, it's very chill. Sure, this isn't the first weird and difficult interaction he's had - although it is the first one he's had face-to-face. Maybe that's why it's so exhausting, he can't just turn off his PokeGear to get away from this.]
