2/2 [video]
You cannot be rid of it--or you ought not, we've none of our abilities here, and that creature is meant to be companion and protection.
[He doesn't even consider that she...honestly might not know what he looks like, considering the entirety of the time she spent in his acquaintance he was in his The Helmet Never Comes Off phase.]
no subject
They aren't her most prideful moments. Recognition is recognition, regardless. And the lapras in question is more than happy to hog up all the video time. How to address him, however? To her, Estinien is just a bittersweet memory.
Maybe heavy emphasis on the bitter part of things.]
Never did I ask for it. It need not be thrust upon me. I would sooner return it. I can protect myself.
[Still prideful, it seems.]

He shakes his head.]
You might not have asked for it, but it is yours all the same--these creatures have a command of magic that we've been denied--even my ability to jump is restricted here.
They're quite canny besides.
Have you just arrived? That woman will boot you out without so much as an explanation, Aymeric and I are not so far off and can return for you.

In the back of her mind, he looks... exactly the way she's expected him to. Can she remember seeing anything other than the infinite frown in his face? No. Maybe not.]
I have. [She responds to him easily enough and she takes a moment to assess her surroundings. Just in case she is, indeed, about to be removed by force. Not yet, it seems.] I can find my way. This... thing. [She motions to the lapras.] Perhaps it will be of assistance.
no subject
Of course. And it ought to be, from my guess its aspect would be water, or perhaps ice. They vary. This device can tell you of them.
[He turns so some of the rest of his team is in frame, a Flygon, two Ninetales, one snow white and the other pale gold, and a Corviknight.]
I've been here for some time, should you have questions.

[This meeting, a reunion, if she wants to call it that, is a strange one. When she thinks of Estinien, she thinks of a cold man. One she might have considered cruel and unkind. A man she couldn't turn with her pleas of reason and rationale. To have even an offer of kindness from him? Who is he? This man with the same voice she remembers so easily disparaging the things she'd believed in.
How easy it could be for her heart to lodge its way into her throat. Her feelings where Estinien are involved are immensely complicated.
She puts them aside. She has to. Her attention turns back onto him and the rest of his team. He's serious. He's been here long enough to have... quite the collection of animals. She never would have taken him for the sort.]
I have— [Ysayle begins before she clears her throat.] —I have no shortage of questions. [How is she alive, for instance? What does he last recollect? What will happen when she returns home? When will she return home? Many questions that in one way or another, she fears the answers to.]
I would not burden you with them.

[It seems like it's been a lifetime, a lot has changed since she last saw him, nevermind since they've traded words. He's changed, he knows. Then there's this place returning him to his animal husbandry roots, even if Pokemon are far more capable of maintaining themselves than karakul.]
If anything, Ratatoskr and I can fly back to fetch you. Aymeric and I are traveling with two others from our world, you will not have met G'raha Tia, though perhaps G'rhyf? They are the Warrior of Light, though I did not know them as such.
You would not be obligated to travel with us further, though you would be welcome.
no subject
Travelling with all of them, at its very core, does not sound horrendous. Yet long has it been that she has taken in the extended companionship of others aside from her followers and the Dravanians, for though she spent no shortage of time in the companionship of the Warrior of Light, Estinien, and little Alphinaud, the comparison is unfair, at best.
She looks... conflicted. Perhaps as she ever has, never fully expressing her concerns, but wearing them plainly.]
I am not familiar with either. It is not the Warrior of Light of which I recall. [But she understands that they have likely experienced something very similar. She will need to not discount those experiences simply because they were not with this very specific version of herself.] It seems unwise to speak on the behalf of the others. If you are certain... mayhap I will travel with you all for but a time.
[As inconspicuously as she can muster, that is.]
no subject
Tis a bizarre quirk of this world--I remember a Hyuran man, though this is the second time now a Warrior of Light has appeared, and recalls everything exactly as he would. I've learned not to question it too closely.
[Unwise? Maybe. But he's known Aymeric long enough that he feels comfortable assuming the man's reaction, that he could appreciate her company. G'rhyf, too, he's sure would be happy to travel with her again. G'raha, he's not as sure, but considering the Miqo'te's initial reaction to him, meeting a hero of the Dragonsong War far more deserving of the title would be exciting to him.]
You've time to change your mind. Much has happened that we can tell you of, though.
no subject
She wonders just... how many Warriors of Light there must be. And how many versions there are of her out in the world. If all of them have met the same end that she had. She can only shake her head, once more drowned under the weight of questions with which she has no answers.]
I am not easily changed. [Which he knows, probably more than most others would. When Ysayle makes a decision, she follows it, even to the most extreme of places. Maybe it would be more accurate to call her 'unwise.' Filled with foolish hope, more or less.]
I have agreed to travel paces along you and the others. You may tell me what you know of. It seems there is... much I am unaware of.
